I have no motivation whatsoever these days and I am not sure why :confused3
Before I had DD I was 100 lbs (I'm 5'2" so I wasn't sickly looking) 6 months after DD I was at 107. Five years later I am close to 130! What happened? It seems like the past 2 years I really packed it on and I just cant seem to get into a routine to go walking or work out.
Any suggestions? I'd just like to lose 10 lbs and get some muscle going on, my tummy is the real problem.

I was 113 (5'4") when our first was born. 5 years later, when I got pregnant with our second, I was 135. I gained 20 pounds with our second, and 2 months after I got home from the hospital I was 136. Fast forward 5 months, and I have had a lot of people over the past few weeks ask how much weight I have lost--most guess between 10-15 pounds. The reality is that I have only lost 3 since January. I just changed my perspective which helped me change my habits.

One day I thought to myself that I just want shopping to be fun again. So, I started the Couch to 5K plan at the New Year and completed it a few weeks ago. I have kept it up and starting at about week 6 I limited my snacking (yummmm, snacks!). I will die with a candy bar in my hand but it will (now) be a fun-size Milky Way as opposed to a King-sized. My other meals are usually pretty balanced. So, while I step on the scale, the numbers haven't changed but my clothes are fitting tons better. Now, I just tell people that I have redistributed the wealth--I took from my fat cells and gave to my lean muscle mass.

Good luck with your goal. Just find that trigger that will get you moving. Why do you want to do this and what do you want to gain?

THAT is exactly how I feel! I used to love to shop, and fiance is always telling me now "go shopping, get some nice clothes" I am always in sweats b/c nothing really "looks right" on me anymore. (Ummm MUFFIN TOP when I wear jeans).
I wanted to lose weight for my graduation on May 21st, this is a pretty big day for me, not sure how I made it through 4 years of college with my little one, but I wanted to look good and feel good for it...and of course for my Disney trip in Aug :)

I've lost 116 pounds since June 1 following Weight Watchers Online and working out (I also did Couch to 5K!). I still have a significant amount of weight to lose, but I'm getting there.

I've been overweight since I was a teen, and until I started Weight Watchers, I'd never tried to change my lifestyle. I was convinced I couldn't.

For me, the motivation was when my weight started interfering with the things I wanted to do. I got tired of living life on the sidelines.

Last May, I went on a cruise and was too heavy to hoist myself back into a catamaran while on a snorkeling excursion. Fast forward 10 months later. In 13 days, I'm going on a cruise and plan to go snorkeling, zip lining and hiking. I'm also running a 5K at Disney World in October.

I've found motivation is a renewable resource. With every pound I lose, the motivation to get fit and healthy just grows stronger.

Couch to 5k is a free running program. In nine weeks, you go from not running to being able to run a 5K. Google it, and you'll find the web site. You can also download podcasts that tell you when to walk and run, or there's an app for the iPhone that works great. That's what I used.

Take it from someone who never ran a day in her life -- the program works. I never dreamed I'd be able to run for 30-45 minutes at a time, but I can and do on a regular basis.

I'm doing the couch to 5K now. I'm supposed to be in week 3 but due to some muscle soreness I am re-doing week 2. I do not want to proceed to the next week until I mastered the preceeding week. The website is www.c25k.com

My motivation? Getting to Disney World to run the Half Marathon in January. It has worked wonders! When I think I want to quit I just think, "I'm going to Disney World!"

Thanks for posting this. I am going to look into it too. We participate in the Race for the Cure every year and have always walked it. I really want to run but I don't think I could run to the mail box right now. :sad2: I have been walking but want to step it up. I am doing WW too with an At Work program. I have lost ~15lbs so far. I have a long way to go but it starts with a lb.

I have the same problem you have! I am about 5' 3" inches and riding that 127-130 line. I gained 15lbs in this past yr.:sad2:

I do know that I am being hit with premenopause symptoms and my endurance is way down. I just had a stress test and my thyroid is fine. Dang it...:lmao:

I will have to check out couch to 5K.:thumbsup2

I'd love to check out the C25K program, but I have running (ahem) issues. :rolleyes1 Let's just say after having 2 kids running/jumping/sneezing isn't always, safe.

I'm about 5'2" 118ish.....and I'd like to be back at the 110 range. I wonder if doing the C25K program counts if you walk it fast?? :rolleyes1

lol, sneezing and stuff isn't the problem here, if I over exert myself I do hear my bones going "crack, crack"...I'm 25 I should not have these issues. Oh and I can't breathe haha, so sad!
My real problem is finding a routine, I am a SAHM, DD is not in school yet (will be next year) and by the time she goes to bed @ 9 and I clean up I don't feel like working out @ 10, I am so tired!
Maybe tonight after dinner I will go up to the beach and throw her in a stroller and go for a walk on the boardwalk.
I would like to try that couch to 5k thing though, I have to really read it tonight.

I just took a 25-30 minute power walk along the beach. its pretty hot here today but when I went to the beach it was so cold and windy. Walking north was easy, but then when I turned around to head back to our car, wow!!! I felt like I was pushing a 60lb stroller b/c the wind was so strong hahaha!
