Motion simulator rides

I've never been to US or IOA before and I'd like to know a bit more about the motion simulator rides. Are they similar to Soarin' in WDW--i.e. there's a big screen and your seat moves around as you watch?

Are there any like Mission Space in WDW--i.e. you're trapped in a very small enclosed space and the whole cabin moves?

The reason why I'm asking is that I sometimes get motion sickness. I could handle Soarin', but I was miserable on Mission Space.

Simpsons is more like Star Tours. Shrek is like Muppets 3D. Spiderman and Forbidden Journey really have no Disney comparisons as your vehicle travels along a track and some of the action/scenery is simulated.

Thank you so much--this information is very helpful. Sounds like I should be fine!

Take some Bonine!!!!! The Simpson's is very similar to Mission space with a small enclosed car (no wall b/w seats though) but it is way jerkier. My husband does not ever get motion sick--can ride mission space, tea cups, star tours, upside down roller coasters, etc and he got very sick from forbidden journey and then after that all the screen one's bothered him even the less jerky one's like Jimmy Neutron and SPiderman. Personally unless you get early entry try Spiderman first at IOA or Jimmy Neutron first at US. If you can handle those ok then try more. FJ is just a bit worse than Spidey. Simpson's though was pretty awful both with being small, lots of intense motion, and the stuff on the screen moves crazy fast. If you have other specific questions let me know. I rode a lot at US and IOA and I can't handle coasters or small stuff and the screen bothered me just a bit.

Forbidden Journey made me a little sick feeling, and the Simpsons was the end of rides for the day for me it was so bad. And I had on a prescription scopolamine patch! But still worth doing all of them. :thumbsup2

Funny but the only things that bother me are Jimmy Neutron (which seems to bother no one else) and one swoop in FJ. I'm OK in the Simpsons but it is very much like Star Tours which was always a favorite.

Thank you Thank you everyone! We went today to IOA and had a great time. I was a little dizzy on FJ during the "movie" portions but not uncomfortably so. Had no problems on Spiderman--so looks like Universal rides are not problematic for me!

Till you go to USF don't say that. I find that even though I can handle Mission Space - The Simpsons (the old Back to the Future) ride was too much for me. Too enclosed in car and got banged around a bit. Definitely killed my night!!

Definitely go on The Mummy and Rip Ride (if coasters don't do it to you!!!)

Have Fun!!!
