Motion sickness and Soarin'

The only part that bothers me a little is the nighttime cars scene which I just turn my head and look at my son during. I find I feel better leaning forward a bit instead of having my back touch the seat

I get bad motion sickness. It's worst on simulators and rides that go round and round (like Space Mountain or Matterhorn, teacups are fine as long as I don't do any extra spinning). I felt a little bit queasy after Soarin' and wouldn't have liked to do it again any time soon. As a once off though it was ok.

I seem to be getting worse as I get older, and this time I plan on taking plenty of motion sickness tablets. They work absolutely brilliantly for me and allow me to ride whatever I want to without getting sick.

I can't think of a ride that makes me sicker than Star Tours. New and old. Maybe Space Mountain. Neither are worth it to me.

However, the only part of Soarin' that bothers me at all is the part where you are over the freeway at night. I've been on it enough to know when the open my eyes so I don't miss the finale. The music changes and I open my eyes just as it goes over DL. It is my favorite ride. Even my elderly parents loved it.

DH and I did Star Tours for the first time and last time. Never again. We both got sick.

Soarin I've done multiple times and never got sick. But then again I always end up in the last row so the feet hanging above me helps.
The breeze and orange smell does make a difference compared to the jerking tight quarters of the Star Tours. I almost fell out of my seat at Star Tours. That was never even close to an issue with Soarin.

Thats the same part I look away at!
