Chaz as a woman was an amazing person on Celebrity Fit Club -- had amazing drive and determination, lost a ton of weight, cheered her teammates on, and was a level headed, cheerful, and very kind person. Extremely likeable and somebody you'd want to know in real life.
I remember Chaz on that show. I remember thinking Cher must be SOO proud, she is an AWESOME person.
Cher has supported her child thru this and I'm with her. I've never been "mainstream" anything... that's something I DON'T get!

I knew several transgender people in NY, my neighbor was mid transition when I lived in Brooklyn Heights - male to female. That was in 1985. I guess since I've dealt with this all my life it's nothing new or different to me.
I soooo agree with the PP who said some "Christians" use that title to spew whatever hateful judgemental agenda they choose. What they forget is the word Christian means Christ-like and the Jesus I KNOW loved and cared for everyone.

In addition to those who think Chaz being on the show is harassment, I also read a comment lamenting the fact that America would have to look at the scars on JR Martinez.
How unsympathetic can a person be?
I had no idea who JR Martinez was, but when I first saw him when they announced the new cast, my first thought was "Good for him...what a great role model, going on with your life after whatever it was that happened."
And really, I've questioned the use of the word "Star" from the beginning. I've never watched a full episode of DWTS...I hate the interviews, and I don't usually know who half the "stars" are...but some of the ones I do know, I question the "star" designation. Honestly, I think it should be called "Dancing with a Person who at Some Point was Vaguely in the Public Eye".
I've seen Chaz discussing his sex change on TV...don't recall if I parked my butt in front of the TV watching, but I certainly never felt it was shoved down my throat. Maybe because I exercise my right to change the channel.
