I asked this on the welcome threads the other day because I couldn't get my posts to work on here, but I would just like some more opinions... if anyone on here has ever been during Mother's Day or mid-May; how were the crowds? We usually go in June and this will be our first year to go at this time and I'm just curious about crowds, weather, etc... Thanks :)

I'm interested in hearing some responses as well. We went Memorial Day weekend and it wasn't all that bad. We normally do off season so us even considering going in May (again) is out of the norm. Normally wouldn't go in May for a long trip but DH has a conference there to attend so the rest of the family might as well tag along and keep him company. :)

Early/mid May is pretty quiet- compared to the summer at least. I've been over Mother's Day before and it didn't really seem to affect the parks. They gave out carnations to mothers at Epcot- not sure if they still do that. I'll be there 5/8-5/12 this year.

We really liked both the light crowds and weather in May, and will be arriving Mother's Day '08 and staying a week.

Crowd-level perceptions are a relative thing, but compared to our other WDW trips, which were during Easter/Spring Break (OH MY GOSH CROWDED) and Summer (HOT and crowded), we thought the May crowds were very reasonable. Still had to use fastpasses for the big mountain rides, but at least the fastpasses didn't run out by 10 AM, as they did during Easter/Spring Break. You will :lovestruc it.

Just agreeing with what others have said, mid May is usually a wonderful time to go. Two of our trips have been during that time. The weather was in the 80's with little if any humidity, and the crowds were managable. The Flower and Garden Festival is in full swing and Epcot is just beautiful!
Compare that to August 07 which was HOT and crowded. I prefer May.
We'll be going May 7-16. We'll be doing the Mother's Day brunch at Epcot for the first time. Can't wait!

Where's a good place to have Mother's Day brunch in Epcot. We'll be there the 10th through the 16th. We'll be going to Epcot on Mother's Day too and I really want brunch somewhere. Never been, so excuse the interruption of the thread.
