Mother Daughter Trip August 2012 – ASMusic – Lots of firsts

Thanks Trinity. You are very right. The difficulties of the past several years and the accident will definately have a positive impact on how much this trip is enjoyed :)

My new scooter came. :moped: I'm very glad that I ordered the longer scooter. Not just for the extra leg room, but the finish on it is beautiful and almost matches my new van! It also has a bit bigger seat than the old one.

I am buying a cushion that has a cut out in the center of the back edge that is supposed to help reduce pressure on the spine in the hopes it will help my back. I have purchased some red fabric with white polka dots on it (very Minnie Mouse) and am going to make a slip cover that will cover the cushion and the seat.

I also replaced my large suitcase that was damaged in the accident. Found a nice one that almost matches on clearance at Walmart for $20 off.

And the insurance company finally came through with a payment so now I can pay the credit card bill when it comes :cool1:

35 Days to go !!!! And...Mickey Mail came today. Wooo Hooo !!!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Well, I returned the new suitcase. I measured it and didn't think it would fit within the dimensions allowed by JetBlue and don't really want to have to pay an oversize fee. So, will hit the stores again this weekend in search of another. This time I'll take my tape measure with me.

I found Okabashi sandles at Walmart the other day for $10 and picked up a pair. They do feel nice as far as support goes but are rubbing my skin a little. If they don't work out I'll just stick with my crocs and sketchers sneakers.

Amanda and I went to the Disney Store at the mall last night and they were having a sale. She got a couple of t-shirts that were 2/$28 for 25% off. We also found another t-shirt for her and one for her Dad on the clearance shelf and got those for 25% off as well.

We chatted with a couple of CMs while we were there. One of them, a nice young man, was telling me about his trip last month to the world and how he was in the college program there a couple of years ago. The other, a very nice young lady, chatted with me about her son and a couple of the new movies. She was the one that gave me a coupon for 25% off my entire purchase. Smart CMs...I had only gone in for a Disney fix, not to actually purchase anything LOL.

We went shopping yesterday :) Amanda and I both got a new sundress for our trip. I found another suitcase to replace the damaged one. I also picked up a couple of the Frogg Toggg Chilly Pads for us to use to fight the heat and a waterproof box to hold cell phone, credit card and such while we're at BB, both were in the camping department at Walmart. At Target I picked up $300 worth of Disney Gift Cards which only cost me $285 with my 5% discount.

We also bought a camcorder. I've always wanted one and just could never justify spending the money. Well, Amanda is going to her Sheldon Institute program for the next 2 weeks and one of the courses she is taking is video editing. I thought that using a camcorder for this would be better for her than just using the video function on my camera. And then we'll have it to use on vacation as well.

I really need to start a To Do List now that we are getting so close to our trip. :yay:

I need to finalize my packing list. And I need to stop reading the posts on here about packing because every time I do I add something to my shopping and packing lists. :rotfl2:

I need to make a seat cover to cover my scooter and seat cushion that I bought. Not sure exactly how to go about doing this, it's not like there are any patterns out there that I can use so I'll just have to wing it. :moped:

I need to see what bills are due while we are away and get them ready to be mailed and make a note of what day they need to be mailed so that DH can pop them in the mail for me. I need to make a list of the ones I pay online as well so that I can make sure I get online and pay them while on vacation. I also have to order one of my meds because I see that it will run out while on vacation.

I still have to buy our tickets for US/IOA. I'll probably do that sometime this week.

Yup...I can think of a ton of other things I need to do as well...better get started on making a list !!! :coffee:

So glad everything is working out! I love the scooter slip cover idea!

Yeah, my list seems never ending! I did the Target give card purchase too!! I bought $1050 dollars worth of cards for $997.50! That's a meal right there!

Wow, you got alot. I know I'm going to need more than the $300 but I'm thinking that I will be needing quite a bit over at US/IOA and can't use the Disney Gift cards there so will just use my debit card. Between food and souvenirs I'm thinking another $200 or so just for that one day. I know Amanda is going to want a number of souveniers from Harry Potter, as will I LOL.

28 days!!!

And Mickey Mail came today for our 2nd reservation. 33 days out on that one.

Took measurements for my slip covers today. May actually begin making them tomorrow.

Added the Disney Mobile Magic and DisBoards apps to my phone. I also put the Touring Plans Lines app on there but it's not fully functional unless you subscribe. Not sure I'm going to subscribe or not. I bought the new edition of the book but they don't tell you how much of a discount you get to subscribe.

Also created an account on photobucket so that I can upload my pics for sharing.

Someone needs to keep me out of the stores, I keep finding things to buy LOL

Spare battery for the new camera.
Spare high capacity battery for new camcorder.
A new backpack.
Another Sundress and shirt for me.
Waterproof box for me for the waterpark.
Eyeglass holders for both of us for the waterpark.
Did I mention the new android cell phone?

Finally got around to ordering our tickets for US/IOA. I purchased the 1 Day/2Park tickets that include transportation.

I made the seat covers for my scooter today. They were pretty easy and it seemed like I whipped them out pretty quickly.

We did the single digit dance this morning. 9 Days to Go !!! :cool1:

We're getting close now, so excited

I got my hair done yesterday and went out for dinner and to do a little shopping with my older daughter.

Today we went out for dinner with my Mom since we won't be seeing her until after we return from our trip. I also gave her a much needed haircut.

Yay for the new scooter!!! ive had to stay off the boards for awhile. Dbf said our trip planning was starting to be as much money as the trip itself. Lol.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one out there that can't stay out of planning and shopping mode LOL

I actually need to make one more purchase. I think I want to get a different soft sided cooler because I think the one I have is too big. I haven't checked in the store yet to see what they have left from their summer stock. I was thinking of ordering the Mickey Cool Snack cooler from Disney Florist but that's another $40 plus $10 delivery fee.

Thanks Rachel. I decided today that I'm just going to pretend I'm in a bus LOL

Got all the bills either paid or ready to be mailed today.

Only one more day of work. I've considered calling in and taking the day off, but I'm on call anyways so I might as well work. Or at least make it look that way LOL

Saturday - Packing

Sunday - Relaxing and taking a nap in the afternoon. Pack a few last minute things before bedtime. Hopefully early to bed. Not that I'll be able to sleep.

Monday - Getting up at 3 AM, out the door at 4 AM. My older daughter is driving us to the airport. Arriving at the airport by 5 AM for our 7 AM flight.

Woo Hoo....2 more days !!!
I'm officially on vacation as of 8 am this morning and it will continue until 9/4 at 8 am. I so need this vacation from work right now.

In 24 hours we'll be getting off the airplane at MCO !!!
I just checked us in and printed our boarding passes. I also upgraded our seats on JetBlue to the Even More Space seats. :dance3:
I took the aisle seat and gave Amanda the window seat. I sure hope we don't get stuck with someone in between us.
