Motel/Hotel Help Please

My husband and I are going on a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas in October and I am looking for a place to stay for 1 night. We really just need a place to sleep for the night before the cruise. We will be sailing out of Port Canaveral. Anybody know of a nice place to stay that is not going to cost an arm and a leg? Also do you recommend using a site like Priceline, Orbitz, or Travelocity? I have never used one of the travel sites before so I am not really sure how to do it. We will be driving down on a Wed if that makes a difference. This is also our first cruise. It is a cruise for my husband 20th year reunion. If we fall in love with the cruising experience we will be booking a Disney Cruise for us and the kids. Thanks for all of the help. I know that you guys will have some great advice for me.

They discuss all of the Florida port cities, so do a search for Port Canaveral.

We are sailing out of Port Everglades in Nov and got rooms through both Priceline and Hotwire (all at the same hotel and for about the same price, but different nights).

I actually prefer Hotwire because you can often tell which hotel you are getting before you pay for it by checking the Florida board at www.Betterbidding.com

For instance, I had a specific hotel I wanted on the beach. At betterbidding, I checked the amenities known to be listed by that hotel and then matched it to the amenities listed at Hotwire. Not only did I get the hotel I wanted, the other 4 couples sailing with us got their rooms at the same hotel by checking the list of amenities I gave them.
