Most you paid per night?

Ok, I'm looking at all the onsite resorts and their prices. I know that I am a budget person (aka CHEAP) but those prices are crazy. Is this like normal hotel rates where one price is posted, but no one ever actually pays that much?

Or has someone actually spent 2,000 on one night's lodging?

Yep, there are those out there that can afford it.

My mom's hairdresser takes her family once a year and they stay at the GF in a suite; she operates her business out of her home and it is her way of thanking them for putting up with all of her customers.

There are lots of deals, codes, packages, etc. that make it less; I don't know the average of people who actually pay full rack rate at peak season.

Personally, when I retire, I would love to stay at the BW for two weeks and I don't care how much I spend.....

I'm getting married at Disney in November and we are staying in a suite at the Beach Club for two nights and it is costing us a pretty penny. I could never justify that splurge at any other time but for this occasion I said lets do it. Its a once in a lifetime experience.

Next vacation we'll be at the moderates again. ;)

Congratulations!!!!!!:yay:

Would never spend $2,000 a night on lodging even if I had it. I've never paid rack rate...I think the most I've paid is about $300 for the YC/BC. That was painful for me.

I'm renting points and staying at BCV in October and it comes out to like $190 a night - excellent! I remember when there were discounts and the rates were lower and I'd pay $169 for the BC/YC..non-DVC. Them were the days.

The least I've paid is $49 for a moderate.

Oh yeah. There are definitely people that swipe a card and don't even blink an eye. I would really love to stay in one of those presidential suites. But we would only do that if we had 8 other people splitting the bill. :rotfl: To answer your question, we paid $350/night at GF. If we didn't have a pin we would never do that. We paid way too much either way, but it was a nice experience. :goodvibes

That's sort of what I thought. We are going with a group of 12 and we are staying offsite in a house with 6bed/4bath for around 1400 for 7 nights.

What is it about the Deluxe resorts that is so much better? I'm sure the rooms are big and beautiful, there is an awesome pool, and I know about the transportation. Is there some thing else that I'm missing?

Since our first two trips were gifts from parents :worship:, I don't know if full price was paid or not...

But this trip we have rented points from DVC owners and are staying at the cheapest studio at AKV during the cheapest nights (Sun - Thurs) and season for $90 a night. :yay:

I really don't care if we don't have savannah view or pool view as I don't spend much time looking out of windows... :rotfl:

We live on a farm and enjoy privacy and nice views 365 days a year so if the view is less than spectacular for our 6 day vacay then that's fine by me.

We really enjoy the hot tubs at deluxes :woohoo: and we don't have one at home so that is a nice thing on vacation.
But I wouldn't pay $500 a night for that!

That being said, I dream :cloud9: of one day being able to bring my kids and their families to WDW with us for a special family vacation :grouphug:.
DD is getting married :bride: in March so the days of family vacations are now over :sad2:

Don't bet on it.... My Mom, Dad, and all the kids/grandkids are taking a huge family trip next week. This will be my sister's first time going and she's 23.

Yes, it's not a house. ;)

Seriously, though, for a lot of people (myself included), I go on vacation to get AWAY from my home. I want it to feel WAY different than what I am used to every day. For me, even the Villas are too much like my apartment (with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, etc.) I don't WANT to see a kitchen on my vacation. I don't want to feel like I'm in an apartment. I don't want to be in a house...
