My husband and I will be at Disney for our 5th anniversary. What is the most romantic restaurant that is including in the deluxe dining plan? I really want a wonderful meal with a wonderful atmosphere.

One consideration is my husband is allergic to all seafood so there must be other choices. (He can be in the same room with seafood but it cannot touch any of his food.)

Thanks,
Paula

Gonna' have to go with Victoria & Alberts - hands down. Nothing else compares on property. 1st runner up would be Bistro de Paris, but it's a far ways off...

Maybe Le Cellier?:confused3 or Jiko, or ADR's at California Grill during fireworks?

When are you going? Will it be after Cat Cora opens her new restaurant? I hope that is on the DDP, since it will be Disney owned. However my DH says that even if it's not he wants to take me there for Mother's Day next year. It's made him really excited about out trip. I had no idea he had a secret crush on her.:lmao:

How could he not???

Most of the signature restaurants would qualify - Jiko's, Citrico's, California Grill, Narcoossee's (seafood, but they have other options).....

For the 1 credit restaurants, perhaps Tutto Italia, Brown Derby, Chef De France, San Angel Inn (atmosphere, not food!), or Portobello at DTD.

For what you might call "alternative romantic" - how about sitting together in a drive in car at Sci Fi or enjoying Boma buffet at AKL and then walking the grounds of the Lodge? We actually enjoy a meal together at The Plaza in MK - something about the atmosphere/decoration is romantic. Others might also feel that way about Tony's.

We had our 5th anniversary meal last year at bluezoo at the Dolphin - not on the dining plan though.

I picked Jiko for my birthday last year and we went very early so we could make the Epcot concert...5:30pm

The restaurant was empty, it was nice and quiet and we had a view out the large windows...it was great!

LeCellier is way too crowded and the tables are too close together. IMO, it could never be considered romantic.

As for CG and Jiko, well CG after the fireworks. Before, it's too insane with noisy kids running everywhere. Jiko, may be a safe bet, but only very very early, or very very late.

Beyond that -- and if you insist on a restaurant that is on the dining plan, we've had nice dinners at Artist Point after 8:30 p.m. When we were at Citrico's it wasn't just noisy it was an crashingly loud. The tables are not terribly well spaced, but again you could probably do okay there if you go late, after 8:30 p.m.

As for 1TS, really, none qualify as romantic really. We find if we get a booth at Wolfgang Puck, that can be nice. Also, we like Portofino, although I'm not sure it's on the dining plan.

Brown Derby (a 2TS restaurant last time I checked) has always been a zoo when we've been there; perhaps because they offer the Fantasmic dinner/show combo. Plus, the grapefruit cake, which used to be delicious, is now made offsite and kept frozen and so not worth the calories.

Chefs de France has tables so close together, I felt like I could sit on the lap of the guy at the next table and not be much closer than we already were. Not romantic at all unless you figure you're out with your dh and having a blind date with the guy at the next table all at the same time!

Same with San Angel Inn. The Epcot restaurants seem to have solved their lack of space problem by simply doubling the number of tables in the existing space. Not romantic at all.

One exception might be Marakesh in Morocco, which often is not full. And, the belly dancer is fun to watch.

Never been there but Yachtsman steakhouse is supposed to be very nice. I love Flying Fish. Last year when we went I was recovering from a stomache bug and they made me the absolute best grilled chicken. My DS always gets steak there and it is his favorite restaurant (granted he is 8...but is developing expensive tastes). They have a great wine list as well.

The problem with any of the restaurants on the dining plan, there is no way going in to guarantee that you will have a quiet romantic setting. The same restaurant can be intimate one night and packed with screaming children the next.

We always dine late (9 or later) which helps the chances. I think that Jiko, Artist Point and Yachtsman are consistently the quietest. Jiko has the nicest decor/setting of the 3. Although the food at Artist Point is good, the decor there is so off-putting to me with the rustic cabin stuff, not romantic at all. Yachtsman is good but not special or memorable for an anniversary, IMO. I think that Citricos has the most romantic menu/food presentation but if you hit it on a noisy night, look out.

I would definitely stay away from Ca Grill, Narcoosees, Brown Derby and Flying Fish if you are looking for romance. CG, very late after fireworks, can be nice but it still could be crowded and noisy. The others (although FF has my favorite food) are always noisy.

There is not one 1TS place I would pick for a special meal.

I don't think too many people will agree with my suggestion, because there's no way you can guarantee that you'll have an experience like this, but here goes:

The most romantic meal I've had at WDW was an anniversary dinner at Rose & Crown. We told the host that it was our anniversary and we were seated outdoors in a tiny alcove that held just one table for two. There was a table above and behind us, but it was like we were the only people there. Our dessert was served moments before Illuminations began, and everything was perfect. Of course, it would have been pretty easy to impress me that night, because MIL and FIL were watching our kids, so we had a wonderful solo night. I was just thrilled to go through the no-bag line at security, so dinner was a bonus!

I agree with poster above who said McDonald's can be romantic with enough planning. With the right attitude and creativity, you can be romantic anywhere.

I am allergic to Shell fish (yes, horrible I know) and I'm a picky eater, so I'd have to say that California Grill is 2nd runner up to V&A.

We were just there to celebrate our anniversary.

CA Grille would have my vote, just schedule it very late. The view is amazing, and if you are there late enough, all the little kiddies to go to bed. We had a 9:45pm seating, and it was awesome.

Jiko is nice and quiet, but not particularly romantic, IMO. I saw alot of couples in tiny tables squished against a large window with a view of the plants. We had a 5:30pm seating, and it was strangely empty. We loved the food at both places, but for romance, CA Grille won.

Umm -- it's Disney World. There's gonna be kids and there's gonna be noise. I have never experienced these restaurants quite as terrible as you described, but I would hope that someone planning a "romantic dinner' on Disney property has the understanding that there is very likely going to be kids and noise unless you go to V&As. None the less, your point is well taken, especially on the EPCOT restaurants. They really do pack them in there.

My most favorite and I think the most romantic is Citrico. Food is always the best and if you can get a window seat over looking the lake it very romantic.

Just remember, although your children may not be with you, there will be children at every restaurant. (Except V & A) And if you try to eat late, in order to avoid them, forget it. They are just more likely to be tired and cranky but they will still be there.

I don't mean to put a damper on your plans, I just don't want you to be too disappointed.

Yet again, Pakey has spoken for me!!
Best chance for a quiet romantic meal would be Citricos, altho it too can be over-run with kids if it's one of "those" nights.
Going anywhere later in the evening is usually better than going earlier.
