Hi there, we are looking to stay in a CL room (to take advantage of additional fast passes and such) either the first or second week of February. We are looking for the most recently refurbished resort/rooms though - I couldn't readily figure this out. Does anyone have any idea?

The paid for extra CL Fastpasses are booked by Disney for you at 90 days from checkout day (each day you purchase those they will book your regular ones too for you). I’m going 1/30 to 2/3 at the Contemporary. The 90 day mark was the first week of November for me (actually 60 day mark is next Sunday and I have one day I didn’t purchase the CL ones so I have to book those myself).
I got all I wanted but they can’t make special ones appear for you (you are getting close to when all onsite guests can do 60 days). They have same availability as the general public- can’t make one magically appear because CL.

IDK about refurbished rooms—-

You're right that if I wait to the point where it's 60 days before the trip, there isn't a huge benefit to buying the extra fast passes. We have to figure out our plans soon.

I am also debating doing it entirely as I've heard first two weeks of February are slow anyway.

The most recently refurbished CL rooms are:

AKL (some room renovations are done, I haven’t kept up if they are completely done yet, hopefully someone will know)
YC (1’ish+ year ago)
GDT - brand new tower

After that it’s a pretty steep drop off in terms of when the rooms last had a major refurbishment. Not that any of the rest are bad rooms, they just haven’t been refurbed recently in terms of Disney’s latest resort room trends (eg, hard flooring, more clean/modern styles, etc). Renovations are rumored to be in the works for places like Poly, CR, and WL in the coming year(s).

Gran Destino Tower (at Coronado Springs Resort).

Coronado used to have a “business class” room category that was sort of like CL-light, but the new Gran Destino Tower has a CL category that is just as much equivalent to any Disney Deluxe resort CL.
