Most popular DVC resort hotel near Thanksgiving?

We actually leave the day before Thanksgiving, but I wondered what are the most popular and therefore hard to get hotels for around this time?

Also when you do people usually arrive who are staying for the Thanksgiving?

Hoping to get VWL from around Nov 14-20, but wondered if we'd be better trying for it at the beginning of our stay if it's going to be very busy and hard to get a studio.

Thanks

Edited to say I'm from the UK, so wanted to get a US viewpoint as obviously us Brits don't 'do' Thanksgiving.

We're coming in on Nov 17 and leaving the day after Thanksgiving(Friday the 23rd).

We were there last year and I really think the crowds picked up on Wednesday(Nov 21 this year). I didn't think the crowds were bad Sunday, Monday or Tuesday(we did MK & Epcot those days) others might disagree.

The airport might be a nuthouse on Wednesday, one of the busiest travel days of the year here in the US.

All the resorts are popular at Thanksgiving, and all are sold out. I tried to reserve ANY room at the 7 month window, and everything was full. I got 3 days in the following week, and waitlisted for the rest. I finally got Thanksgiving Day just 3 weeks before arrival, so plan way ahead if you are planning on going to WDW at this time. Thursday-Sunday were horribly busy, but the following week was better.

We're already booked in at SSR (our home resort) for the entire stay of 3 weeks, just fancied changing to VWl from Nov 15-21 if possible. So it looks unlikely then?

It certainly never hurts to give it a try. I'm not sure but I think that the Christmas decorations start going up in early November so that they can be complete by Thanksgiving. That would probably explain some of the popularity of VWL at that time.

I would say the earlier in your trip you can book it, the better the chance.

In any event, three weeks at WDW sounds great. Enjoy planning that trip! :)

Thanks very much! :) Here's hoping anyway. Think the decorations go up around the 13th so it will be magical if we can get in.

Even if you can't get in to stay, you can absolutely visit during your stay to see the decorations, soak up atmosphere, eat in one of the restuarants, do a little shopping/looking in the gift shops or even try out the pools.
