Most Overrated Resort

I didn't enjoy my stay at CSR. My favourite mod is still POR. I don't see what the fuss was about, the resort was too spread out and I didn't like the theming at all.
I loved my stay at GF though, definitely not overrated!

I've stayed at Poly, CSR, FW cabins, and BC. I thought BC was the most overrated. I thought the theme was kind of boring and neither my DD nor I enjoyed all the sand at the bottom of SAB. I did love the location, so we are moving to BWV next trip .

My stay at Grand Floridian has been nothing but exemplary. I think its position as WDW's "Crown Jewel" resort gives people reasons to knock it and find flaws that much more in order to raise the status of their personal favorite hotels. Nothing wrong with it...simply human nature, I guess.

Well, it still boils down to personal preference. I'm not a big GF fan, but it's nothing against the resort - it's just not a good fit for me. AKL is not a good fit for me either, but it's a fine resort. I don't think anyone is bashing one particular resort because it has a certain status or cachet.

I voted for the Poly...stayed there in September '07 and just wasn't that impressed. It wasn't "bad" by any means, but it didn't live up to our expectations. And my opinion has nothing to do with the theming- we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon so I actually loved the theme.

None are overrated in my opinion. Just because I like one resort does not mean someone else will. Does my liking a resort make my opinion not valid because someone else doesn't like it?

The resorts offer a great variety in cost, amenities, theming, and location. One person may be passionate about a resort that leaves another cold. Some people look at a resort as just a bed and a shower, some are looking for an ambience that transports them to another place.

If one resort seems overrated, it may just indicate that it's not your particular cup of tea. For the next visitor, it may be just what they're looking for.

CSR is definitely the most overrated, on these boards anyway. The praise it gets is shocking, and in MY OPINION, is somewhat misleading. I don't think any hotel could live up to the expectations that people have for CSR based on these boards. Again JUST MY OPINION.

Yeah, but all that proves is that 67 other people agree with you on a very broad poll. Just like this entire thread your opinion along with the other 67 people doesn't prove anything; it's a poll on opinions and like most people know opinions never prove fact. I'm not for or against any resort, it's just I find it humorous that every time you get the opportunity to express your dislike for the hotel you do. And yes, I realize that everytime people are asked which is their favorite resort that there are certain folks who enjoy cheering for their fave. However and answer just for you and not to compare what everyone else does, don't you ever just see one of these kinds of polls and say to yourself I'm not gonna participate?

Just wondering is all.

I happen to like polls. If someone asks for an opinion on a resort, I respond. If I like the resort, I tell them. If I don't like the resort, I tell them that. There's really not much to say.

The Beach Club is way overrated. I was so excited to stay there, it looks so great! SAB is very nice, when it is open. But my family likes to swim after a long day in the parks, and SAB is completely shut down at night.

Being able to walk to Epcot was wonderful! Having to endure a 40 minute bus ride to get to the Magic Kingdom was not!

I really really wanted to love the Beach Club. But I left disappointed.

Very well put. Unfortunately, you are only allowed to criticize one or two resorts on this board or if you praise one too much, you are an outcast.

I agree with those who mention that the G.F. is billed as Disney's "crown jewel". That certainly leaves the door open for various opinions. I think Disney has done a good job of offering 3 levels of resort experiences with different choices in each category with activities, themeing etc. commenserate with the price one pays. You can encounter good and bad service at all levels. Maybe I'm just lucky, I've yet to encounter a rude or unfriendly CM at the resorts or in the parks. Can't say that for some of the park goers/resort guests I've met.
