I have to agree with those who said fruitcake. My dad used to make it for himself because no one else liked it. He would freeze it in slices and take it out to eat during the year.
Last week, someone left a homemade cake in the staff room where I work. It looked like fruitcake, but the sign next to it said "gumdrop cake." When I looked more closely, I realized that the colored bits were actually sliced gumdrops. I didn't feel compelled to try it, nor did most other staff members. It looked like a few pieces were gone by the end of the day. Someone kept putting it in the fridge overnight and putting it back on the table on the morning. That thing sat there for four day, mostly untouched. I felt badly for the person who took the time to bake it. But, like myself, I guess most people couldn't imagine what it would taste like.
