I almost didn't post because I hate to hurt feelings but I LOVE Crocs and my feelings aren't hurt so hopefully I won't offend anyone. The only things that I get tired of hearing about are the DDP and Maclaren/Peg Perego and other costly strollers. I think it's great to have and bring a comfy, user friendly stroller but I don't think it's necessary to go out and BUY one specifically for your trip. As babies, my kiddos were very comfy in their Graco single then double (when I had ds now 3) and they have also ridden in a double rental (for a day trip) and were perfectly comfy. Next trip, I'll bring my single Graco (5 yrs old and going strong) for dd and rent for ds 5 & 3 (I have a double but they won't ride most of the time anyway and it's more STUFF to deal with)

As for the DDP, I know it's great to save money- I guess it just seems overrated to me because it seems like EVERYONE wants DDP and especially free dining. We do room only ressies and save more that way (but we are Fl res so that makes a diff) and we eat pretty cheaply by budgeting and sticking to it. My mom, sis and I did a CP dinner last year and I was shocked when they said we EACH get an appetizer, meal AND dessert. It was WAY too much food and felt like a waste. What I will try next time is DDE.

I used to think that way about the dining plan, but then we got it for free last year and I wouldn't do Disney World without (assuming that they still offer it) I don't care if I have to pay for it, there is something to be said for going and not worrying about the price of your meal, could I eat cheaper? Of course I COULD, but it is a vacation and I don't want to worry about it, that is the advantage of the DDP, does it mean we spend a little bit more than we would have otherwise? Quite possibly, but if I want the $30 prime rib I can have it or if I want the $10 cheesburger I can have it, I don't really even look at the prices on the Dining Plan, I order what I want and enjoy.

I have two things to say about deluxes QUEEN BEDS. For us, a full sized bed is not good. We are looking forward to enough room. True we can get two rooms for the price of one but the amount is so close and the ability to eat at a TS is nice also. By the way, we LOVED pop (we had 2 rooms) and it was the first time we stayed on site. We will always stay on site.

Oh.....I LOVE soarin (come on everyone who loves soarin don't be afraid to admit it!! )

I agree, what's one mans snore is another woman's high point. I also love Bomas. (though one persons meal is another person's. ... person's upchuck) We all love something about the mousehouse.

I will respectfully disagree- and looking at your tag I don't think you have ever been during full on LOVE BUG season! It is gross if you are there the wrong weeks. And from what I heard about last year it seemed like one of the worst(and I saw the pictures!)
I have stayed both off and on and with small children on is the way to go(for the early morning hours alone!)
I don't get the bagalinis either but I have not tried one yet so I won't comment on it anymore.

You are right, I haven't been to WDW during the height od lovebug season- maybe they are awful there. But, DH and I lived in Gainesville for almost 2 years- we are WELL aware of the little critters and how yucky they can be. I remember our first May lovebug season- I was HORRIFIED to see swarms of them up against storefront windows, cars, etc, etc. After I got over the initial "Eeeew" factor, they were not much of a nuisance to me. As long as it doesn't sting me, a bug is not a big deal to me.

We were BIG "onsite only" fans until our last trip- we stayed really close to the Main Gate, and I couldn't believe how fast and easy driving to the parks was! It was much nicer just hopping in the car at the end of the day vs waiting in looong lines for a standing-room-only bus ride back to the resort. Granted, I don't have a small child- DD is 8. And, we didn't try to do midday breaks. I'll have to get back with everyone after our fall trip- we will be hopping and doing breaks in the middle of the day and staying offsite then.

I don't quite get the Baggalini thing, either- we use our Disney backpack we got for FREE when we joined the Disney Movie Club- works for us!! And I totally agree with you on Chef Mickey's- it is just another character meal for us. No big reason to do it on every trip.

I can see your point there! This would be especially thrilling to ds 15 who seems to always want the most expensive thing on the menu. However, my ds 4 also likes steak, seafood and adult type meals. He's never been a kids meal type kid. I know it wouldn't work well for him. Nope- no DDP for us. I'm glad it works for other folks though

I'd have to my 2c of over talked about and rated things are

Crocs - I have a pair but don't think they are worth all the chatter they get, but thats just me.

Boma's - We tried this and thought it was the worse meal of our trip. Co-worker and her family tried it also and didn't like it either.

Deluxes - I'd rather spend my money on more time at WDW and doing the extra stuff then pay the $ for someplace that we just need to lay our heads for sleep. If my intention was to spend alot of time at the Resort maybe that would be different but were there for the Parks and the Entertainment around all of WDW. Not just our Resort.

I know there are others who love these things, but I really don't get it. I agree with the pp about moderates in general. We like the deluxes for the larger beds. Also, we have started spending more time at the resorts, so for us, the extra $$ is worth it. If we are staying longer and therefore can't really afford a deluxe, a value seems a better, well....., value than the moderates.

And I still don't know what a zebra dome is.

Making meals in your room and taking dish soap and laundry soap with you. Hello! You are on vacation. The whole idea of vacation means that I don't cook, I don't do laundry. Otherwise it's not a vacation. It's work/the norm just in a nicer location.

I'm in the 'no Croc' group, but have to respond to your Crocs in Paris comment. I saw someone wearing red Crocs on the Champs Elysees last winter - amongst the throngs of people on a Saturday afternoon she definitely stood out.... to say it kindly.....

Now for my two cents (with no offense taken or meant), We are the moderate resort types. We stayed at POR before and are planning our next trip at CSR. I couldn't talk myself into the values based on looks alone. (If we would have had 4 instead of 5 in my family for our first trip... I would probably be singing a different song.) I think the Moderates are just as beautiful as the deluxes. But for the amount of time we spend in our room I can't justify the cost of a deluxe. And to skip the moderate level would mean a 300% or 400% increase in cost from the value to deluxe costs. So moderates make perfect sense.

Teeheee... Yep, makes me giggle alright. Though I'll admit, I did a little jig when I got to my double digits, yo.

For me, the #1 more over-hyped thing has got to be Soarin. It just doesn't do it for me or the DH. We'll probably skip it all together when we go in May (I know...may we be tarred and feathered for our slight!).

#2 -- Fanny packs -- this has got to be one of the single most unattractive accessory/bag every created by man. It's like a beacon of light shone upon your mid section, highlighting all your waistly imperfections. Of course, I'm saying that as someone that is a newly converted croc sporter (though the only crocs I'll be seen wearing in public are the mickey crocs..I can at least say: hey, these have mickey heads on them that makes them ok).

Based on my signature you can see that I have never stayed on site. I am not sure I ever would for the following reasons.

I have never understood ADRs. I can't imagine planning my day around a dinner reservation. We've had to do it on a cruise before and it is a pain in the neck.
