"Why can't Stitch read my child a story and tuck them in"? (I would REALLLLLY have liked to answer that one )

"Why do you let it get so hot in Florida?"

"What do you mean there is no Monorail from Pop to Grand Floridian? That is where I want to go so tell the Monorail to take us there"

About 4 years ago, I overheard a Disney guest trying to get a reimbursement for his vacation because the ceiling fan had a slight wooble to it. WOW.

What these shysters don't realize is that hotels will attach a "PIA" note in their file so on future visits, when Mr. Nasty starts up, they will know he's out to get something for nothing. My cousin works for a large hotel chain and told me this one.

I think for some reason Disney brings out the worst in some people, in part because they are A) a billion-dollar company and B) they charge top dollar for food, lodging and admission. There is a "well, they can afford it because they stuck it to me in the first place" attitude.

Not as funny as outrageous and one of those you just shake you head at the state of humanity.

In GS at Epcot during free dining in September 09 we heard an older lady (lets say 50-60's) arguing w/ the GS rep that she had to get into Askerhus for lunch that day and they should drop other ADR's and accomadate her b/c she has cancer. She went to great lenghts to tell them how tired she was (but not too tired to argue) and couldn't go to another park to eat and had to eat there that day. My personal favorite part was when she kept rubbing her very short hair cut and saying but you don't understand, see I have cancer.

I nudged over further away from her, you know how those lightening storms pop up in Floridia sunddenly , and hoped our GS rep would hurry before her begging/pleading/and arguing got even louder. I was embarrassed for her. For those that are curious the GS rep stood her ground and told the lady over and over she couldn't get her in, offerred several alternate places, the lady refused walking away after about 10 minutes of arguing telling her husband how awful they were and that she would just get a CM to let her in at Askerhus. I wanted to run to Askerhus and warn them!

About 4 years ago, I overheard a Disney guest trying to get a reimbursement for his vacation because the ceiling fan had a slight wooble to it. WOW.

Based on that logic ~ I wonder if we could have gotten a full refund for our vacation last January when the microwave at our OKW room had to be replaced ~
These things happen ~ no big deal.

I overheard a couple at WL complaining that they flew all the way from London and how horriblre their vacation was because it rained every day. (this was during one of my rare summer trips even I expect it to rain everyday during the summer)


I was walking down the FP lane at space mountain and a kid asked his Father/grandfather why we got to use that line. he sayas "well they have special tickets" the kids says "well I thought we had special tickets" the older person responds "not as special as theirs" This was right after FP was introduced.

I even have people I work with say they went to disney world. Iask them if they used FP and they said no they already paid enough for admission they wont pay anymore, or usually something along those lines. You should see the looks I get when I explain it to them and show them how all literature on the subject tells you it is free with admission. I keep all my old maps and everything from every trip. if they would just pay attention.

Wow. I am totally amazed at how greedy and awful people can be.

Now I feel guilty for the one time that I went to Guest Relations to complain after I learned the hard way that the kids coloring stations in Epcot use permanent markers. I discovered this after my dd colored all over her shirt. I felt better when they offered me a free shirt, but that was not what I wanted. I wanted management to know that some idiot put out permanent markers for kids. And to get them pulled so others wouldn't have my same horrible experience.

I am sure now they thought I was just another person begging for freebies.

I guess you were/are unaware that those Kidcot coloring stops are sponsored by SHARPIE?

They ain't changing those permanent markers anytime soon.

Mine too!!! I dragged mine all over all 4 parks, 2 waterparks, and DTD last June...and he had planter warts in the process of being burned off the bottom of one of his feet! We saw the majority of attractions and shows. And guess where we are going this year on vacay......WDW again. He is so excited to not have to limp around the park ! I haven't told him yet that I didn't have planter warts and my feet still killed me everyday!!! Oh yeah...and this year....we are adding two more days to our trip from last! lol Here's to you finding your perfect Disney BFr :!! (or at least a guy who will go to the parks and deal with your obssession the rest of the time! )

Last Sept I overheard a man getting nasty with a Cm at the BC frontdesk because he wanted a REFUND OF HIS FREE DINING credits because he didn't get to eat at several of his choices because he didn't make ressies.The Cm kept offering to find some ressies for him, but he kept getting louder and louder screaming about a refund of his unused free credits.

Wow. I think that guy takes the cake as the world biggest jerk.

"I want a refund for my free stuff".... "Ok, hold out your hand and let me give you nothing. There's your refund."

Once when I was getting off the bus at AK some woman behind me started loudly complaining about how the people on the trams were let off closer to the gate and that she shouldn't have to walk so far since she's a resort guest

Seriously this is a normal complaint on the resorts board here and it come up most of the time when someone asks about driving vs taking Disney transport.

Oh, of course not! I get to do it much more than that since they make it so easy! (Of course, I love my teens...I just may not always like them!)

I love this! I tell my husband all the time when he is annoying me, "Honey, you are lucky I love you, because right now I don't like you." It's perfect because it always makes us laugh and whatever annoyance is then usually forgotten.

I was laughing so hard to..The Cm was like it was "FREE" I can't refund something Free..but the guy was arguing that he wanted compensation/monetary value..It was BEYOND ridiculous.

OO...well not sure if this counts or not

BUT on my last trip ...I was at the turnstiles...getting my 4 tickets out...while trying to line up my daughters stroller for the gate...when I overheard some ...."lady" and i use that term quite loosely....griping about the expediency of my going through ....

So I go through ....meet up with my family...only to find...she had rushed through the turnstile...only to STOP and gaze at the train station.

So I couldnt help myself..I walked up to her and said
"Have a MAGICAL DAY" and smiled.

To which she replied F$$$ YOU...IN Front of my daughter.

I just walked away...but it p$ssed me off all day.

hahahahahaha, thats really funny. sometimes the disney tradition and being "nice" or "polite" to someone doesnt always work well. i will say this, if someone told me to f@*k off infront of my kids i would have LAID THEM OUT! i am a huge disney fan and give people that extra little time, practice patience and pay a huge sum of money to be at the "happiest place on earth" but i WILL NOT let someone disrespect me like that. they would have been going to the hospital and i would have been carted off in cuffs screaming at my GF and kids to have a great day and come get me out the pokey when the parks close hahahaha.

In our family, we have a tradition called "wrist to forehead." If someone starts complaining about something ridiculous - "Do we HAVE to go on vacation? I want stay with my friends!" - then we tell them they have to say it "wrist to forehead." That means the back of wrist is pressed to your forehead, like a Victorian woman with the vapors. It's amazing how quickly that makes you feel like an a**.

1. The kidcot coloring station in the Nemo area uses washable markers not permanent. So after spending time there, I thought nothing about letting my kids walk over to the other station and color.

2. I can understand sponsorship, but why get Sharpie to be your sponsor? Why not Crayola? Who ever gives a young kid a permanent marker to color with? Ever?

3. You are totally right. They are not going to change it. I didn't know it at the time, but I do know. So I avoid those stations like the plague as I always have my kids where their "sunday best" clothes to the park so they look good in the thousands of pictures. And I try to warn everyone I can so that they can avoid experiencing what I did.

But either way, I am sure I just came off as someone begging for a hand-out.

The last time we were at WDW, we were at the Caribbean Beach concierge trying to get some dining credit issue figured out when a guy comes huffing and puffing in and demands some kind of compensation because they were not told there were so many birds on the property and it has ruined their vacation. That their son had been attacked and he was now traumatized. It was probably one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. We left a few minutes later and he was still complaining. Ridiculous.

I had read that they use permanent markers because they are worried that the craft will get wet and then they would then get complaints that it ran all over the kids shirt.

I never cease to be amazed at the people who don't know they need to make dining reservations (ADR). I mean, everytime I have called Disney regarding my trip the CM always asks, "do you need to make dining reservations?". This isn't just something we know from these boards!

If you look at the Where To Eat tab on the Disney website, the first thing under that tab is "Make Dining Reservations".

You are visiting during summer (or any other busy time), you see suggestions to make dining reservations on-line and the CM when you make your trip reservations ask if you help making dining reservations = make those reservations if you want to eat!

Let me just say, those birds at CBR are smart, devious, and scary. We had some of the big ones (as tall as my 4.5 foot kids) stalking us because we were walking near them with bagels. The 4 of them actually turned around and came after us! We finally got away when I looked at DH and told him to throw a piece of the bagel over the birds heads the other direction.

As for complaints, we were at the Dole whip stand behind a guy who let his dole whip sit on the counter in the freaking 95 degree August heat while the rest of his order was made. He then complained to high heaven about his dole whip melting! Um hello you let it sit in on the counter for over 7 minutes what did you suspect?!?! of course the CM offered to make him a new one, but then politely told the guy that he may want to start in on the other dole whip in his order so it didn't melt as well. (as the guy was again going to leave it on the counter to melt).

Rubbing alcohol takes out permanent marker.

Generally speaking, permanent markers are better for that kind of craft than washable markers, because washable markers will run if they get wet. They do, however, require supervision with younger children.
