Most Outrageous Complaint Overheard

That's funny -- I bet she got it mixed up with Mission Space.

This one is second/third/400th hand from a similar thread on the Dis Boards, but I think it is so funny: A guest at Beach Club was tearing into the front desk staff because they were not actually on the beach....of the Atlantic Ocean!!!!!

Now that's funny! :rotfl:

Wondering if the Atlantic Ocean people did ANY research before leaving home!

This wasn't overheard, but said directly to me!

The last trip I went on, I went with my (now ex) boyfriend during the Christmas season (week between Christmas and New Year's). It was his first trip there and no matter HOW MUCH I tried to prepare him for what was to come, he would not listen to me! :confused3

So when we finally got there, everything was fine for the first day or so, then the complaints started rolling in...it was too crowded, he had to get up too early, we were trying to do too much stuff at once, ect. I informed him over and over again that if he had just listened to me when I tried to tell him what he could expect, we would not be in this situation!!

Never mind the fact that I worked my butt off to make sure we saw ALL the major attractions, got fastpasses, saw a couple minor attractions, got something to eat, and be ready to go back for lunch and a nap within three hours of park opening...but that's another story in itself. :scared1:

Several years ago, my Mom and I had ADRs at the Italian restaurant in the Italy Pavilion at Epcot. While we were waiting to be seated, we could see a man in a heated discussion with the CM at the podium. All of the sudden, he screamed "Who ever heard of making reservations at an amusement park!?!" :rotfl:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Awesome.

OO...well not sure if this counts or not

BUT on my last trip ...I was at the turnstiles...getting my 4 tickets out...while trying to line up my daughters stroller for the gate...when I overheard some ...."lady" and i use that term quite loosely....griping about the expediency of my going through ....

So I go through ....meet up with my family...only to find...she had rushed through the turnstile...only to STOP and gaze at the train station.

So I couldnt help myself..I walked up to her and said
"Have a MAGICAL DAY" and smiled.

To which she replied F$$$ YOU...IN Front of my daughter.

I just walked away...but it p$ssed me off all day.

We actually heard a family complaining about the fact that all characters present did not actually sit with them at their table while they ate their meal!!

But the best one is when we were checking in at the YC. We walked in and the CM motioned for us to come on over. Lady swoops right in ahead of us and spends the next several minutes berating the desk clerk because she did not have a paper that morning. He tried to give her one and she said she did not want the "desk edition" that she wanted the one designated for her room.

She refused to take a paper that someone else had handled. How did she think the one outside her door showed up?:confused3 She was being a real PITA and kept asking the poor CM if she looked like someone who was used to taking used papers (there were several new, untouched papers on the desk). She kept talking about how much money she had, how much she paid to stay there...on and on like that until she finally threw her hands up and screamed at the CM that she was going to report him.

On the way to our room, we got behind her in the hall. Our boys noted her room # and took our paper to her room every morning. She probably thought she was really special since they started giving her TWO papers!!!:rotfl2:

While working at wdw I heard it all, but my favorite were guests who you knew were full of it in order to get free stuff.

Examples: (some mine some other CMs)

Columbia Harbor House....
Man... "someone threw away our food"
CM.... "okay sir, what happend"
Man... "well we got our food, we sat down, then my kids wanted to ride HM, so we went to ride it, and when we came back, our food was gone"

CM went to get a manager, manager replaced 50 dollars worth of food.

Launching Pad
Me(cm)-"Hello, what can I get for you?"
woman-"Well we bought 3 turkey legs, and a large coke and they were cold."
Me... "I do appologise, did you just buy them""
woman..."no, I bought them on the other side of the park hours ago, and they were cold, so we threw them away, you need to give me 3 free turkey legs, and a free coke"
Me.."I am sorry, I cannot give you anything for free, but I would be more than happy to call my manager, and I am sure she will resolve your issue"
Her..."No, I will just pay for them"
Me.. "that will be 17.50"
Her.. "you could have just given them to me"
Me.. "like I said ma'am, I would be more than happy to call my manager, or you can go to guest relations"
Her..."screw you, here is your 17 bucks"

If someone splashes water on themselves in the bathroom, disney will give them a new shirt.

If I told Guest Relations that someone stole my bag full of souvies, and I lost my receipt, they will replace everything in the bag.

If I walk up to any food stand, and say "I dropped my coke" I will get a free coke.

If I walk up to any food stand, and say, "I dropped my pretzle, I will get a free one" (anything more than 5 bucks is when a manager is called)

My point..... no matter how stupid the complaint may be, Disney will try to resolve it. And yes, I have heard of them giving someone a free sweatshirt because it is cold in florida.

We took our RV to FW a couple of years ago, there was a family camping in a tent beside us. That night it sounded as if the sky was falling from all the rain, well when we woke up the next morning we went outside to find the family in the tent demanding to a CM that Disney give them a hotel room for the rest of their stay, pay to dry clean their clothes and other items, oh and buy them an outfit to wear that day since their clothes were wet. Their reasoning (and yes this came from their mouth) is that DISNEY LET it rain on their vacation, therefore ruining their plans.

Doggone it. Disney has let there be a hurricane on one of our visits and a tropical storm on another. And last year in February it was 28º one morning. And silly me, I thought it was "weather" and didn't think to complain! :rotfl:

That is crazy! I'm sure there are people that know that and take advantage of it. I'll continue to pay for everything and sleep well at night.

Hey south Louisiana neighbor! It would never occur to me to try to lie and get something for free. When I read Tara's post, my jaw dropped. Good gosh and then they have children with them! Guess they're teaching the next generation to steal.

Hmm. Last October we got some dole whip floats and went to sit at the table to eat them. MY 10 yr old DS picked his up and the condensation on the plastic cup made it slippery and it slipped out of his hand down the front of his shirt to the ground. He was so upset. We quickly grabbed the cup and scooped off the top that was all yucky. ALL of this was witnessed by a CM that was sweeping. She moved right in and cleaned up under the table as we sat there. Never did she tell us to get a new one in fact it was a little annoying trying to move out of her way so she could clean as we were trying to clean DS and salvage a little of his treat. :sad2:

DH gave DS his dole whip and once he was finished I took him to a store so we could buy a new shirt. I mentioned to the CM as I was paying what happened (just chit chat) she never offered anything for free.

Nothing was offered to me for free but I never complained or asked for it either. Now I would have never expected a free shirt but it would have been nice if the CM would have replaced DS's dole whip when she clearly saw what happened. There would have been no scamming involved.
