ANyone have a memorable magical moment at WDW?

My first trip to WDW was 2 years ago. We had lunch in the Castle and Cinderella was not guaranteed to be there. My DS (9 at the time) was going to the lilboys room, he came running back to the table, he was all excited, rambling on about Cinderella and downstairs. Not knowing what he said, but had a really good idea, grabbed the autograph books and ran downstairs. Not only did we get the Autograph and Pictures, but Cinderella asked him to dance. It was amazing!!

I think mine was just last year when my daughter's boyfriend surprised her with an engagement ring at the castle. Just to see how happy she was was very memorable for all of us. :bride: :wizard: :groom:

Our first trip we didn't see Mickey the whole time. On our way out of Epcot Illuminations was happening so not many people were around we happened upon Mickey and had him all to ourselves. The perfect ending!

My daughter is a hugh Tink fan, and at 6 wanted to see her. I tried to explain that she is so small so we may not, but she kept looking.

While taking a break, another mom had some gold glitter and sprinkled it as she went by my daughter. I did not arrange for her to do it and I do not think she overheard us, but my daughter is still trying to figure out how I did it. (she is almost 9 now and KNOWS EVERYTHING)

Seeing my son "start" the fireworks from the Rose & Crown on his fifth birthday, on our very first trip to WDW. It still brings tears to my eyes... (happy tears though)

We have been so many times and there are so many magical memories! My favorites include watching Piglet play peek-a-boo with my 9 month old DS and then the same DS knocking Mickey off his feet (literally) while running to give him a hug! With my older DS, magical memories include him being serenaded by a great CM for his birthday and also being able to ride Goofy's Barnstormer two times in a row on his birthday -- his first roller coaster ride ever!

I have so many magical Disney memories!

My favorite was a couple of years ago when we went for DD's 9th birthday. That trip started being magical before we even left our house!

First, we got reservations at YC at a good AP rate, so we were excited to be staying at a Deluxe for the first time.

I had tried and tried, with no luck, to obtain that elusive CRT breakfast PS. Darn! Then, about a week before our trip, a DISer posted that part of their breakfast party had cancelled and they could share their table. Not just during our stay, but on DD's actual birthday! They kindly arranged for us to join them. (Thanks again!) What a nice family! And a great meal that ended with DD getting a birthday cupcake and a card and the waitstaff singing Happy Birthday to her. After that, DD met the Fairy Godmother, who spent a lot of time talking to DD and not only wrote the sweetest birthday message in DD's autograph book, but also gave DD a pen to keep. (DH had all of our stuff except the autograph book, and he was still upstairs in the restaurant).

That same evening we had dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe. DD had a blast there, too, and all of our "cousins" that were eating in the same room with us, along with the waitstaff, sang Happy Birthday to DD.

DD wore her Birthday button from MK all that day and it's amazing how many birthday wishes she got! We were walking in to Epcot for IllumiNations that night and the CM at the International Gateway told DD happy b'day, gave her an Epcot birthday button, and told DD there was a phone call for her. DD was surprised, and took the call. I think it was Goofy singing or saying Happy Birthday.

We got a perfect spot to view IllumiNations (and ran into the family that we had breakfast with!). As the fireworks were going off, DD put her arms around DH & I and said, "Oh, thank you Mommy & Daddy! This is the best birthday ever!" :wizard: Absolute magic to a parent's ears!

It was our very first trip and we're staying the the Poly. We basically checked in, unpacked and went for dinner, I can't think of the name of the restaurant at this moment, but Ohanna is there now.
We had just sat down and DH says to me, turn around, so I turn around and there is the Castle in all it's glory (first time I am seeing it) I start crying and can't stop  Goofy had just walked in, a few minutes before, so he comes over, with his arms out, as if to ask, whats worng? DH tells him that I am seeing the Castle for the first time. He (Goofy) just held me till I stopped crying. Just love that Goofy.

It was the 25th Anniversary and once you entered the Magic Kingdom, they ushered you backstage. Instead of following the crowd, I said to DH, lets just take a little peek down Main Street. As I am doing this little peek down Main Street, I hear a voice say, EXCUSE ME, I turn around and it's a "Suit" (Disney Manager) he says, would you have any interest in being on Main Street for the Parade :bounce: :cool1: :Pinkbounc
We got to see all the Disney family. Roy Disney actually touched my hand and said, thank you for being here. :faint:
Then they put on a special show for everyone on Main Street.

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

My magical moment goes back many years:

It was 1978, I was in the MK with the drum corps I was in. We performed in the parade that day. Well, we were backstage getting ready to leave. We were unable to watch the MSEP which was a bummer. Well, all the floats from the parade were coming back after the parade, we got all excited to see them all lit up, well when they came through the gate they turned off the lights. We must've let out a collective "Awwww", :( because all of a sudden they turned their lights back on so we can all see. I thought this was so cool and real nice of them. This was the first time I saw that parade and it will always have special memories for me.

DH proposed at Port Orleans Riverside the first morning we were there. I was in a rush to get to MGM (EE) but DH insisted that we go for a walk. I was mad at him because it was our first full day there and I wanted to get to the parks (we could go sight-seeing later, especially since we had stayed there the year before). Well, it turned out that he wanted to propose.

Last year we spent our honeymoon at BWI.

Can you tell that we love Disney?

Here are some of my favourite magical memories from our trip this january:

Running down Main St. with my DD5 to get to the Tinkerbell shop first so we could wake up Tinkerbell. Her face was unforgettable when the flash of light went round the shop.

Trying to see Peter pan for 2 weeks and always just missing his appearances. On our last day, we just missed out and they closed the line. That night we waited for the Spectro parade, and as Peter Pan came by, he stopped to talk to DD5 and DS3. I have it on video and its their favourite moment of the trip. Somehow, he just knew.

That same night, we were leaving MK and had passed under the railroad bridge. Mickey and Minnie came out onto the bridge to say goodbye and goodnight. Of course, the kids thought it was just for them because we were going home in the morning.

Riding up front on the monorail twice!

My DS first birthday in MK and being in the birthady parade at Crystal palace. I felt sorry for the server who had to clean up the mess from that birthday cupcake.

Lilo cuddling DS3 for the longest time even though there was a huge line behind us.

DS1 walking to Stitch for a cuddle. He only took his first steps that week.

The Family Magic Tour, where Wendy came to meet us at the end. DD5 and her walked right through MK together holding hands and sat together all through Philarmagic. Watching all the envious people and knowing my DD was the lucky one made me the happiest mum that day.

So many more, but these are my faves.

Much pixie dust,
Claire

When we were at WDW last month we were chosen/asked to be in the opening float of Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade at AK...it was an awesome experience and one we'll remember forever. :cool1:

About 2 years ago, we stayed at Contemporary during MNSSHP. My DS was constantly trying to get to seat in the front of the monorail. One night, he finally got his wish and the fireworks were going on. It was magical to see the fireworks from the front car of the monorail. It seemed like the driver went slower during the fireworks. That is something I will always remember.

My most memorable moment was with my daughter who was 4 at the time.

While the adults waited in line for Little Mermaid (MGM), I took my DD in to the shop attached to waste time. My DD was wearing a button (received from guest services) which said “It’s my Birthday Today” and a CM working the shop came over and sang Happy Birthday to her. The CM was not done with the Disney magic she asked a lot of fun questions with my DD and referring to her as a princess. princess: Then they did a silly birthday dance and took her over to a display with Princess Wands. The CM told her she must have left her wand at the castle and she would replace it for her immediately! The CM told her to pick her special color because a princess cannot be hopping around the kingdom with out her wand. To my surprise she was given the wand free of charge ($10 item). When we went back to the line, others who had watched the event unfold in the shop were whishing her happy birthday.

The experience made our vacation!!!! It was fun watching her carry the wand everywhere for the next few days!

That is Disney Magic at their best!!!! :wizard:

I have a few "magical moments"...

We took my ds to WDW when he was 1 year old. He took his first steps by himself by the castle.

When my other ds was 1 we came back and in the Toontown Hall of Fame we saw Chip and Dale. We put ds on the ground next to them and the next thing we know they are all crawling around. There were other families there videoing taping this.

Then 2 years ago, the ds who crawled with Chip and Dale-who by the way is his favorite-saw them at MGM and as they were getting to their autograph space, they grabbed his hand and walked him and his brother over to their spot. My DH snapped a picture of this and it is one of our favorites! :goodvibes

Last year we were getting autographs at epcot. My ds (then 12) gave his autograph book to Mr. Smee. He wrote my son's name and then a little message. The both of us were so perplexed. We could not figure out how he knew my ds's name. I thought maybe he heard me say his name but neither one of us could remember me saying it. Later on I realized the clever Mr. Smee looked at the front of the autograph book where you put who it belongs to without us realizing it and looked at his name. It really made my ds's day. He could not believe that Mr. Smee knew his name.
