Most memorable commercial....

Aww, I hate that Staples' back-to-school commercial. I don't get it... parents are glad to be apart from their children? That makes me sad.

But I love the Folger's "Peter!" commercial. Oh my goodness, that used to make me cry even when I wasn't pregnant! I don't think I was even a mother yet when that came out.

I always liked the Campbell soup commercial with the snowman that walked into the house and sat at the kitchen table. As he ate his soup he melted and unvieled a little boy.

We lived on the airbase in Portsmouth NH when my daughter was small. Channel 4 (WBZ??) out of Boston had a commercial that started out "We're for..." and then they showed sites around their broadcast area. One of the short clips was of a kindly older man in a brown monk (friar?) outfit waving at the camera. My daughter was about 2 at the time and she thought he was waving at her. Every time that commercial came on, she'd run to the TV. Makes me smile to remember it.

Oh, the wonders of the internet... I found it on You Tube...

My favorite one would have to be from the 90s and it was a Nissan comercial with GI Joe driving a remote controlled Nissan convertible. My dad and I used to sit and watch t/v all day sometimes so that we could snag the comercial on tape. We finally did it!!! Here it is if anyone remembers it:

the sound is kinda crappy but that's the only one I found that didn't have the audio disabled.

It makes me sad that parents are so wrapped up in their children they can't enjoy time to themselves. It is all a matter of perspective. What will you do with your life when your children move out and are on their own? :confused3

Good lord, I homeschool but I still manage to enjoy plenty of time to myself. I've got great plans for when my children are grown. :woohoo:

But you won't see me dancing in the aisles because my young children are going to be away from me all day. That's warped.

No, it isn't warped. It's funny. Obviously, you just weren't in that commercial's target group. No biggie. There are plently of commercials that others think are funny that I don't get. Different strokes. That's all.

BTW, I homeschool, too, but I posted earlier that it is my all time favorite commercial. It makes me smile every time I see it.

After a week in Disney with my 3 year old, I couldn't wait to drop him off at school on Monday and he couldn't wait to get there. I guess we are warped then :confused3

Some more recent commercials I loved are the Wendy's Ranch Burger and the McDonald's singing fish. Crack me up every time.

As a kid I remember the Toys R Us "I don't wanna grow up" commercials and Zack the Lego maniac.

There are just so many that I enjoy...I always like watching the funniest commercial shows they have on sometimes.

Another one that came out years ago that just makes me cry is the one for pampers with all the baby animals and their moms snuggling and Rod Stewart singing "Forever Young". :sad1::sad1: Gets me everytime...although I had pregnancy hormones flowing through me every time it came on:laughing: No wonder I was always sobbing at it!

Same here. I felt my uterus twinge the first time I saw that.

The second most memorable is a version of the Budweiser Clydesdales commercials. It doesn't get a lot of play anymore, but sometimes you see it during horse racing or equestrian events. There's this young Clydesdale colt in a fenced field and he sees the big Clydesdales go by with their wagon. He runs alongside of them for a while, then comes to the end of the fence. Looking out at them over the fence posts as they drive away, he whinnies piteously. Then, one of the big Clydesdales turns his head in the harness, and winks at the foal.

"To all those who dream of being a champion."

It's the cutest thing ever.

Y'all are right... "warped" was too harsh about that Staples' commercial. I normally have a pretty good sense of humor :upsidedow but I've just always felt bad for the kids' feelings.

I'm going to have to go watch that Pampers' "Silent Night" commercial again. I'm sure I will cry and cry. It doesn't take much these days! :lovestruc

The Staples back to school commerical that plays the song "Its the most wonderful time of the year" while the dad happily throws pencils into the shopping cart.......and says They are goinnnng baaaccccckkkkkkk

If the kids felt anything like I Did as a kid, they were bummed about having to go to school, NOT about not being able to spend time with mom and dad. :lmao:

I love that commercial!

You realize the kids are sad about having to get up early and go to school to do work. They aren't going to miss Mommy and Daddy one iota.

Yep, after all summer with 3 kids driving me nutz. I'm proud to stand up to say, I LOOOOVE when my kids go back to school.

I love this one too!

But this one is my favorite...it always meant it was nearly Christmas time when this started showing!

Oh I loved that one! It is so Christmas to me.

I remember the Old Navy commercials with Magic the dog and the older woman, a fashion guru with glasses.

I also remember the family choir singing "Old Navy, Old Navy, Old Navy performance fleece!" for the whole family.

The Pampers commercial with sleeping babies and Celine Dion singing Silent Night. I haven't seen it this year, yet; maybe I'm watching the wrong TV shows!
