Most lush sites in 1500/2000 and how long does the walk to Meadows take?

I have to fax our request in the next day or so. I loved 1500 last time, but we're starting to feel that what matters most is a lush, slightly more private spot.

1500 was super-lush in 2006 when we were last there, but I've heard there has been more clearing in that area.

I tend to prefer maximum privacy (with the understanding that we are camping, and if I want total privacy we should get a resort room) and a little vegatation for my kids to play around in.

Can anyone recommend sites for our request? We do have a split stay (1 night in a partial followed by 11 nights in a partial.) I know if we request 2000 our chances of having to move and set up camp all over again are greatly reduced.

Also, how long does it take to walk to the Meadows area from the 2000 loop? As I recall, it was about 5 minutes from 1500.


OH, and is 2000 quieter than 1500? We could hear the movie at night in 1500...might be a problem for the baby this time.

I've had several sites in 2000.

I've had 2020 (Dec 2006, Oct 2007), 2014 (Dec 2009), 2063?? (April 2009)

If you have to stick with the sidewalks, it is a LONG way from 2000 to the Meadows, but if you can walk across grass, you can walk over to the Group Camping area, cross the bridge, then go through 900 Loop and get to Meadows rather quickly, probably 10 minutes.

Hmm, we have strollers with us, so I don't know about the grass...ah, I wish I wasn't such a worry wart and just leave it all to chance! (Which is exactly what DH wants me to do!)
