Most inxpensive balcony staterooms

Planning to book when they release the summer 2017 dates. Aside from the obvious navigators verandahs are there areas of the ship that are cheaper? I notice the prices are all over the place. I need a few rooms for 4 in the same area. I am planning to book for the Fantasy. In the past I have just taken whatever was assigned.

Generally, the 7A (Navigator's verandah) rooms are the cheapest.

I'll add that generally lower deck is less expensive (or have the "lower" category rooms). Same with forward and aft. But once itineraries are out and people start booking, it can be a toss-up simply based on how many rooms of any category have already been booked and driven up fares.

We have found forward cabins to be a little cheaper plus the lower decks. We never do anything less than a 5d because we want a fully open veranda.

Cat 7 staterooms only sleep 3 so the cheapest on the Fantasy that sleeps 4 is a 6b.

Some category 7As on the Fantasy do fit 4 people as I have one booked for my family of 4.

Good to know. I was going off Dreams Unlimited site that has it listed as 3.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that out as well since we booked a last minute cruise and our TA found a 7a for us. We were on deck 9 and the obstruction was pretty minimal. Only thing we didn't like was the aft location.

We were in a 7A, 8022, last summer and it did sleep 4. The "obstruction" was minimal. We are booked in one for this summer and hope to get the same for 2017.

We've booked the "obstructed" verandahs whenever we can get them. Cheaper than a full verandah, but the so-called obstruction is very minimal. Compared to a Navigator's verandah, which is mostly enclosed with an open window, the obstructed verandahs look like full verandahs (to us).

If you do get the rooms together ask that a note be made in the computer that you do not want to be moved from your rooms

And if you get verandahs with the removable petitions -- have them removed so you have one continuous shared balcony.

Well, they aren't really "removable". They open. The divider between the verandahs has a hinged part about 1/2 way back, and it folds back on the portion closest to the ship. Here's a picture of some opened verandah dividers:

It depends on the ship. The classic ships have the enclosed Navigators, but the Dream class ships have full balconies with just apart of the ship blocking some portion of the view.

Thanks. I've never seen the ones on the new ships. On cold sailings, the ones on the older ships are nice LOL.
