Most Expensive / Moist Exhausting Continued - Final thoughts and wrap-up

this has to be the smartest thing you have ever typed.

:rotfl2: I knew you'd like it!

enjoyed the update, i think it would be fun to do that again, i have been there but when i was way younger than james so i dont remmeber it.

what night was that you went there?

wondering if we were around the campground that evening.

This was Sat., June 19th.

even though you did not have any food pics, i liked all the show pics...

Good!

i do have to ask though, would you do cat. 1 seats again, how did you like being that close to the stage? would you think that you would have liked seats back a little farther to see the whole stage better?

just wondering so i know for whenever we go.

Great question. I was going to answer it by saying that you don't have to be that close....but I just took a look at the seating chart on Disney's website and Category 1 is the main floor. Category 2 is way in the back and along the sides toward the back, and the balcony at the back. For another $4-$5 a person, I'd spring for the main floor.

So many pictures! You must have had a great time. I haven't seen that show since I was a kid and we used to stay in the old trailers at Fort Wilderness. I remember it being pretty fun, though. Hey, did you get to see the lawnmower tree nearby?

Your kids would love it!

What? I know not this "lawnmower tree" of which you speak!

For the record, I most definitely would NOT have told Marlene about the bbq sauce on her nose.

Well, we'll just see if your kids want to be around you when they're teenagers! ;)

And I think the picture in the bathroom looks like they suddenly were attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. Or maybe it's an outtake from Blazing Saddles? :confused3

Blazing Saddles. :lovestruc The very essence of American filmmaking, at its finest!

Well, I guess I have to add another item to the Disney bucket list then!

Hmm. You may have a point there. I only have 4 more years until my daughter realizes how uncool I am.

My opinion is that the picture is a sign explaining the TSA screening process at some airport in Texas.
:lmao: :lmao: Agree with Glenn on this one!!! Muy gracioso!
I know, right? Siding with Marv is always a gamble. And it bit me in the butt yet again.:headache: Though I shouldn't really complain since technically I posted before him. Still...
In spite of your best hopes and wishes, I did NOT bite you in the butt!
You did post first...so yeah, he should have known better!
Yeah, so I guess you bit ME in the butt! Oh Wait!!! I meant.... :scared1: :sad2:

(And nice of you to cover for Liesa posting that men's room picture for her.......)

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellll, actually, I have the same picture, with a different story. So Glenn totally stole my thunder here on this one. But how I got the picture, I'm going to save as a mystery for all of you who think I frequent men's bathrooms. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

It was! It's worth the trip to Ft. Wilderness even if you're staying somewhere else.

I can hear it now...

"Hang on, hon. I gotta stop in and see that Brokeback mural on our way to The Meadows." :rotfl2:

I imagine that the airport bathroom (that the someone you're referring to visited) didn't have much art in it.

THe only "art" I saw was the Nike swoosh under a few stalls.

That's where my thinking was going  but I couldn't find a way to delicately phrase it, like you did. Good job.

Why thank you. You can always count on me. :rolleyes1

I can be slow on the uptake sometimes. Hey, did you know that you can use your refillable mugs (assuming you don't lose them) on return trips...you just have to pass a biometric fingerprint scan at the drink station.

But the real question is: Can I take it to the Poly Pool if I'm staying at POP?

Well, that's no fun! ;)

Just fly into PDX, the fun starts there.

Somebody has to watch out for Liesa.

:dance3:

:rotfl2: I actually LOLd, good thing nobody came to my desk to see what I was watching... as All7OfUs said... it looks very "Brokeback Mountain" to me :lmao:

My opinion is that the picture is a sign explaining the TSA screening process at some airport in Texas.

But this probably made me laugh even harder than you did! THanks, Trib!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

2 Very good points.

What? I know not this "lawnmower tree" of which you speak!

It's getting to be so decayed and old now, it's actually hard to see. I have a pic from 2008. I'll try to get that uploaded today.

Wow, wonderful update! I love it that your TR includes so many picture reports of the various shows. I think this report will allways be my point of reference when I want to figure out whether some show is worth it to be watched or not. While you did not convince me about the Indiana Jones Show, this one is in a different class! I am even thinking about whether Katharina and I need to change our trip plans??? It sounds like real fun entertainment in a special setting. We did visit the Diamond Horseshoe Review in DL (or was it the Lucky Nugget Saloon there?? Or is this the DLP name?? well, the theater in Frontierland which is closed at the MK now) in 1992 and did not understand much of the show due to our English not being that good at that time. But I always wanted to return. Unfortunately all parks closed that show down, but this sounds like a very similar thing. Thanks a lot for the report!!

In spite of your best hopes and wishes, I did NOT bite you in the butt!

Yeah, so I guess you bit ME in the butt! Oh Wait!!! I meant.... :scared1: :sad2:

Oh good grief:eek:, I don't even know where to begin with this one Marv. Suffice it to say I did not ask you to bite me in my butt! Nor did I bite yours. Whew! Hope that covers it.

Just between you and me Marv, I think Glenn is making up all this nonsense about the pics being James' head and not Judy's;). Isn't it odd that it's whenever you and I are aligned that he starts claiming we're wrong? Hmmm?? I'm just saying...

I was going to say you might be ON to something there, but I'm sure it is PURELY coincidence..... :lmao:

And it's funny how much body James' hair got from the previous picture, unlike Judy's which was completely flat...... :rolleyes1 :sad2:

Mmm-hmm.::yes:: It's quite the coincidence, isn't it? Strange indeed...:scratchin

I was going to ask for a Rules Commitee intervention but I think we both know what the outcome of that would be.:sad2:

Hoop looks like fun times! I love when Disney transport works swimmingly, and you get to your destination with extra meandering time. :thumbsup2

That's too bad that the strawberry shortcake was a slight disappointment. I'm a big fan of dessert, and would have had high hopes for one that had banners held up announcing its arrival.

Pat, I think you're my Judy-do nemesis! Whenever Glenn throws up an update, I'm thinking of how careful I need to be because you always see more Judy parts than I do! Your scrutinizing skills are stellar.:thumbsup2

Oh man, poison ivy makes more sense than chicken pox!

Obviously I miss some now and then. I still think it is judy's head not James too.

I had a run a while back of always being the bridesmaid. :sad2:
One of my problems is that sometimes I lose count midway through the post. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hmm, I'm starting to think we know what Judy looks like better than you...:rolleyes1:laughing: I think the Judy sighting in question is the one Marv mentioned where the top of her head is barely visible in the bottom center of the picture.:thumbsup2

Oh, now I see what you think is a Judy. I forgot about that, I did have to double-check that one. But, I can tell you...

it's not Judy's head, it's James'.
Now I feel comfortable in awarding this rounds points to: Disneymoon09!!

:cheer2:

5 Judy's was the correct answer. (And Disneymoon09 was incredibly speedy in getting her answer in too!)
Congrats Disneymoon09 :worship::worship:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I used the body of the hair in making my determination too!!!

Well, I guess I have to add another item to the Disney bucket list then!

Somehow the list doesn't shrink much...have you ever noticed that?

Oh nuts. If I had known about that, I definitely would have tried to look for it. There's that bucket list thing again!

Hmm. You may have a point there. I only have 4 more years until my daughter realizes how uncool I am.

:rotfl2: As if it'll occur like a bolt of lightning.

:lmao: :lmao: Agree with Glenn on this one!!! Muy gracioso!

That was a good one by Mr. Trib.

Sorry about that. It sounds like you knew about it and were on a mission to find it. I had no idea, and was just mildly shocked when I ran across it.

But like you, I know good TR material when I see it. ;)

THe only "art" I saw was the Nike swoosh under a few stalls.

Ew.

But the real question is: Can I take it to the Poly Pool if I'm staying at POP?

No pool hopping!

Just fly into PDX, the fun starts there.

I read that somewhere.

But this probably made me laugh even harder than you did! THanks, Trib!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

That was a guuud one. Or should I say Juan.

It's getting to be so decayed and old now, it's actually hard to see. I have a pic from 2008. I'll try to get that uploaded today.

Capt. O. posted a link, but it's kind of hard to see the mower.

Wow, wonderful update! I love it that your TR includes so many picture reports of the various shows. I think this report will allways be my point of reference when I want to figure out whether some show is worth it to be watched or not.

:faint: You mean you're reading, and not just counting Judy's?

Seriously though, thank you...it's great to hear that writing this stuff out is informative in some way!

I've never seen the Diamond Horseshoe Review (or whatever it was), but I agree, Hoop is probably in the same vein, so if you liked that one you would probably like this also. It's probably the opposite end of the scale from Tea at the Grand Floridian  but still a good time!

Just between you and me Marv, I think Glenn is making up all this nonsense about the pics being James' head and not Judy's;). Isn't it odd that it's whenever you and I are aligned that he starts claiming we're wrong? Hmmm?? I'm just saying...

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I used the body of the hair in making my determination too!!!

Sorry, but you've gotta go by the angle of the shot for this one. For every picture that Judy's in, the camera was angled toward the stage....except the one where I told you that I got up and squeezed into the corner to shoot back toward the room, which I did on purpose to give you a clue that the top of Judy's head appeared in that one. Every James picture is taken toward the table next to us. :snooty:

Mmm-hmm.::yes:: It's quite the coincidence, isn't it? Strange indeed...:scratchin

I was going to ask for a Rules Commitee intervention but I think we both know what the outcome of that would be.:sad2:

I overheard the Rules Committee discussing some possible penalties to be given out, but I convinced them to let it go for now. I went out on a limb, so don't let me down.

I had a run a while back of always being the bridesmaid. :sad2:
One of my problems is that sometimes I lose count midway through the post. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

It stinks to get old. So I hear. :rolleyes1

Congrats Disneymoon09 :worship::worship:

This was another round where I thought I'd have a wrong answer or two before somebody got it right. :headache: She did great.

Hoop looks like fun times! I love when Disney transport works swimmingly, and you get to your destination with extra meandering time. :thumbsup2

Me too! I wish it'd work that way all the time! I'm still a believer and don't plan on going the rental car route yet!

That's too bad that the strawberry shortcake was a slight disappointment. I'm a big fan of dessert, and would have had high hopes for one that had banners held up announcing its arrival.

Hey, I'm a big fan of dessert too, but we'd eaten so much and enjoyed it all, so a "just okay" strawberry shortcake wasn't too much of a letdown.

And another great update, this time about something I've never done. I was completely entertained the entire time. The picture of Marlene and the chicken is priceless!

This was Sat., June 19th.

ahh that was the night that we arrived home.:sad1:

good info on the seating, thanks, will keep that in mind, but i bet the balcony seats would not be that bad.
:confused3

I LOOOOOVE this update!!! We LOVE the HDDR dinner show. We've done it 3 times and have ADR's for our upcoming trip in June. It never gets old. Even though it's the same show, they mix up the actors and you never know what might happen during the show at any given moment. PLUS, DS can eat ANY of the food in there because it is all pea and peanut free!!

I agree with you guys about the sangria. I switched to merlot the time that I originally got sangria.

I'm so glad to read that your daughter gave a look of "why" when you were asked about teens spending time in WDW with their parents. It gives me hope for the future! :thumbsup2 You and Judy are doing something right, my friend!!

As always, I wanted to say GREAT PICTURES!! I always want to take pic's around the room but I usually bring my point and shoot and have to use the flash. I don't want to keep flashing people in the face while they are eating, so I don't get too many pics. Next trip I need to bring my "good" camera!

I think that picture in the bathroom is hilarious!! I saw a picture of it a while back somewhere here on the Dis or another WDW web site. Yeah, what EXACTLY is going on in that picture?? There has been much speculation...some say it looks a little "brokeback mountain"-ish...some say they all have ants in their pants. :rotfl2: Who knows! :confused3

Oh dear.:headache: Penalties? Boy the Rules Committee is strict lately. How's that system of checks and balances going Glenn?

:yay: I'm glad you were entertained! I like that picture too! Hee hee hee.

ahh that was the night that we arrived home.:sad1:

I thought you were at least packing up, if not heading home, around that date.

good info on the seating, thanks, will keep that in mind, but i bet the balcony seats would not be that bad.
:confused3

I agree, the balcony wouldn't be bad, but I wouldn't want to be under the balcony around the sides. I think you wouldn't feel like you were a part of it -- more like outside, looking in.

I LOOOOOVE this update!!!

I'm glad you chimed-in that you love the show, for people who might read this and now be thinking about adding it to their trips.

That's awesome for you then -- you can enjoy the festivities and not have to worry that you need to watch what's on your son's fork every bite.

I agree with you guys about the sangria. I switched to merlot the time that I originally got sangria.

Does it normally taste like that, or is it just theirs? (blech :crazy2: )

I'm so glad to read that your daughter gave a look of "why" when you were asked about teens spending time in WDW with their parents. It gives me hope for the future! :thumbsup2 You and Judy are doing something right, my friend!!

Oh thanks. Hopefully she'll still want to leave the nest in a couple of years.

I don't want to keep flashing people in the face while they are eating, so I don't get too many pics. Next trip I need to bring my "good" camera!

Thank you. It's not the easiest thing to carry around, but I'm much happier with the pictures than the old point-and-hope.

I think that picture in the bathroom is hilarious!! I saw a picture of it a while back somewhere here on the Dis or another WDW web site. Yeah, what EXACTLY is going on in that picture?? I had no prior knowledge of that picture whatsoever! But it's so strange, that I can understand that has been discussed before.

Are you easily distracted?

Squirrel! :squirrel:

I'm still not completely convinced it was James' head:snooty:.

Oh dear.:headache: Penalties? Boy the Rules Committee is strict lately. How's that system of checks and balances going Glenn?

Um, those were the checks and balances.

WooHoo!! I won! Of course it means nothing in the grand scheme, but I'm feeling pretty good that my constant lurking has paid off!

I've never seen the Diamond Horseshoe Review (or whatever it was), but I agree, Hoop is probably in the same vein, so if you liked that one you would probably like this also. It's probably the opposite end of the scale from Tea at the Grand Floridian  but still a good time!

I remember the Diamond Horseshoe revue from when I was a kid. It was a cute show but I have a feeling hoop de doo is may be a cross between Yeeha Bob and the Diamond Horseshoe. I remember the dancing and the singing from DHR but not too much comedy. Hoop looks like more interaction and comedy from HDD. Ofcourse not ever seeing HDD except in pictures i may not be accurate. :rolleyes1
