Most Expensive / Moist Exhausting Continued - Final thoughts and wrap-up

Looks like a fun derby!
Jame's car is sleek and simple - congrats to him!:yay:

I love Marlene's car - she should have gotten a trophy for most original:thumbsup2

I had neglected to include that picture too. Man, this game is hard!

But....I only get 17 total. Maybe you're including the picture on the side of the fridge? Judy is not in that picture...her sister is, and she looks like Judy,
but doesn't count as a Judy in the game. Let me know if that's what you're counting or if there are some others I missed

Yep.....I was counting the picture on the side. When I enlarged it on the iPad, there was a blurry looking person in the background that looked like it could be Judy. Since you said these were Disney trip pics I didn't take a look alike sister in account. :lmao:

what an amazing TR! It's been super helpful in preparing me for my upcoming first time trip. I would have never known about the Sci-fi Dine-in, which we are now planning to eat at.

I have to say, I'm really excited for the Japan pavalion, but not for the pearls. I'd rather fill my suitcase with the Pokemon imports. :lmao:

Congrats to James for his speed and to Marleen for her speed, although I know she likes the design better. It really is an original idea. Love all the pictures and stuff on the fridge. Mine looks like that at home too. Makes it hard to clean.

I remember the pinewood derby days. Lucky for me Dennis took care of all the mechanics, I just showed up for the race.

Hey Bud! Trying out the new computer! Congrats to James and Marlene on such great jobs and doing so well, especially with last minute entries!!!

Thanks (from James and Marlene). It looks like the new computer has made it onto the world-wide interweb okay.

It was a long Scouting day for me today! I was asked to be on staff for a large training function in the fall and today was the first staff planning session, from 8:00 this morning (hour drive for me to get there so left home at 6:30) and ended early at 4:30, so I had a chance to run by and check out computers and ended up getting a new one. Been trying to get it all set up, but had to take a break and get in some DIStime!!! Looks like it was a busy day for a lot of people. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a long day for a non-work day, but hopefully your scouts appreciate it. I'm glad you got a new computer! :yay:

5 judy's !!!

Well, good try, but no. I think we've re-directed the win over to Poolrat.

Okay I had to go back and read First Congats to James for theTrophy and to Marlene for her creativity !!I also wanted to see what Marv wood dispute this time !!Of course he did not dissappoint !!:rotfl2:

Thank you Rosie.

He never does!

Congrats to James and winning the race! I can't believe it's been a whole year since the last race. I love Marlene's car. That girl has some creative imagination :thumbsup2

Thanks Jen. I can't believe it's been a whole year either. It seems like we were just working on last year's.

Looks like a fun derby!
Jame's car is sleek and simple - congrats to him!:yay:

Yep, sleek and simple....and lightning fast! :car: Thanks!

I love Marlene's car - she should have gotten a trophy for most original:thumbsup2

Aw thanks. She was okay with the winner, which was a butterfly car that a friend of hers had made.

I might have steered you wrong a little bit on that one, since it is from our 2009 trip. The picture can be found in this installment of my "I Paid..." trip report. And yes, Judy and her sister look very similar.

Great job to Marlene and James!!! :cool1: Love the refrigerator idea, very cute!

Thanks Stringbean!

Thank you Vanessa. Actually, her refrig-o-car is less cluttered than our real fridge.

It is a lot of work, and a lot of organizing and prodding.

Hi Feathers and :welcome:

Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying it and finding it helpful and informative.

I hope you like Sci-Fi....we had a lot of discussion after that chapter and came to the conclusion that it's best to stick with their burgers. There was one other entree that most people liked who had had it, but I forget what that was now.

I have to say, I'm really excited for the Japan pavalion, but not for the pearls. I'd rather fill my suitcase with the Pokemon imports. :lmao:

My son James is a big Pokemon fan too. I'm not sure how we got through the Japan pavilion without him buying some Pokemon stuff. Maybe he never ventured back in the store where they have it....I don't remember.

He recently got some software where he can "create" any existing Pokemon character and put them into his game. (Yes, kind of like cheating, but he doesn't care.) He found instructions on how to download and use the software on Youtube and we were successful in following them. We actually had to load 3 different software programs to complete the whole process.

OH SCHWEET, you got a new reader!!

Yeah, and a complimentary one too! They're the best! :cool1:

Good thing I'm a burger person then. Anything with bacon sits well with me.

I was in Japan just last September and spent around $600 at the Pokemon Center in Tokyo.

The new set of games just came out and they've got some things in stock at Epcot for them, and I hope it's all still there come August. I won't be spending $600 this time, but I'm sure I'll hang around there for a while.

Ah, that would be either a gameshark or an AR. They can be a lot of fun to mess around with, but I play competitive pokemon at official nintendo tournaments, and these "hacking" devices send up a red flag in your game and you get disqualified. A big no-no for me when trophies and trips to New York and Japan are on the line. :)

If your son has a wi-fi connection then I'd love to battle him sometime. Anything to pass the time between Disney trips.

Wow! That's a lot of yen.

It's probably a good thing that we're not going back until 2012.

I'll let him know, but I think he has trouble with the wi-fi. He needs it to send the characters he creates to his DS, but has a lot of trouble keeping a connection.

I love the refrigerator! So clever!

Thanks Kelly!

Nice work James and Marlene! They obviously felt the need...the need for speed!

Thanks and......Top Gun!

Congratulations to James for the 2nd place finish!

I love the fridge design, that is too cute & original!

We just had our church derby race too! It's a lot of fun (especially when yours is winning)!

Dan and Candi made it onto the car

As well as Yeehaa Bob!

Here's one last picture of Marlene and James with their cars.

IMG_4789.jpg

It was a fun morning!
when i first starting looking at the pics, i was like hey wait a minute thats me on the car...then i read it, and was honored that she wanted to include 2 pics where candi and i showed up in.

i did not think we would make another apperance in the glenn TR but i was wrong and for my guesses i will say

8 dan-dos
and 8 candi-dos

and it is okay to be honest glenn, the pics that she put on the car, are the same ones that you have on your fridge.
:thumbsup2

Don't care if I'm correct or not, but THE correct answer is 9! Sorry, but you ignored my two reflections in the last round that have been legitimate Judy finds in the past because you didn't want to admit you were wrong. Now you are counting drawings that don't fit ANY of your previous definitions of Judy, and aren't legitimate Judy's, just because the word "Mommy" is on it???? Legitimate images created by Judy herself didn't count in the Tron game pictures because they were "motion" but drawings count? :confused3

Puhleeze!!!! :sad2: That is truly pathetic!!!
what marv upset that you didnt get the right answer, you didnt even comment on the pics of the fauntleroy crew.
:sad2:

and he calls glenn pathetic.

update:
im counting the 2 pics of us in hte one with her and james holding there cars, as i know i am in the pic and can make us out somewhat:thumbsup2

also i have to ask as i have never done this before but how do you make your design, are they pre cut cars, or do you cut them out yourself and design how you want?

Congratulations to James for the 2nd place finish!

Thanks! But don't sell him short -- it was a 1st place trophy, in the Boys group. (But it was 2nd overall, among all who participated.)

I love the fridge design, that is too cute & original!

I'm glad you guys had fun with yours too.

 I wondered what you'd think about that! I have no idea what her reasoning was for picking any of the pictures, but it was her car to do with as she liked.

Yeah, just when you think you're done in the TR, you make another surprise appearance.

Riiiiight....it's a scale-model replica.

Well, it looks a lot like Marlene's fridge car, but without the small groove that we cut around that was supposed to make it look like a door. It's a block of wood about an inch and a half high, and has some notches cut out where the wheels should go. It also has 2 saw kerfs cut across underneath, where the wheels go, and supposedly you can press the axle/nails in. I always have to drill them out a little larger and then epoxy the axles so they stay in. Lastly, there's a slot routed lengthwise underneath in the middle, running between those saw kerfs that is a spot for additional weight to be added. The cars can't weigh more than 5 ounces.

I have a woodshop in my basement, so we can do just about anything we'd need, but for those who can't they have a band saw available at the church during our meetings and an adult can cut out a kid's chosen design. So, those kids would just need to sand, paint, decorate, put the wheels on, and adjust the weight.
