Most Expensive / Moist Exhausting Continued - Final thoughts and wrap-up

8 judies
and all skwinty

Well, I thought that was the answer, but I've got several people saying "10", so I've got to find out where they're seeing these extra Judy's.

now to read and try and spell words correct in my next response, had to type squinty to fast to try and spell it right.

Glad there's a good explanation

lunch looked very good love me some chinese food.

But you're just going to be hungry again in 2 hours.

but i am glad you did not say best day ever, as it was not one of the days you meet up with me...so that would have hurt my feelings if you labeled that day as such.

Right. That's a perfect example!

im not feeling the school bread, but then again, im not huge into desert items....so maybe that is it.
:confused3 does it have a filling to it...or just bread with sugar on top?

Yes, it as a cream filling in it.

greetings neighbor! (you are from southeastern PA, correct? i think i read that somewhere...)

Howdy and :welcome: elbodans!!! Yes, you got that right...originally from northwestern PA, but now in southeastern PA. Good to have you aboard!

i keep meaning to post a WOW! reply to your trip report, but i get so caught up in actually READING it that i have to rip myself away from it (lest i get fired...or my dinner catch on fire...or something equally awful involving fire! :lmao:) this is one amazing trip report :worship: and your photos are amazing! i hope to get through all of it eventually...without burning down the house! thanks so much for sharing!!! :goodvibes

Thank you for finally peeling yourself away long enough to post. ;) I'm glad you're enjoying the trip report and I love reading posts like yours. Burning down the house...your post has me thinking about a Talking Heads song.

I counted 10. Am off to fabric shop so will comment in a while.

10? Where are you getting 10?

Nine Judy's!

Huh?

Great update! Oh man, I get the sun-in-my-eyes look even when it's cloudy out, I probably would have had to be inside the movie or something for those pics! Or I would have been the wimpy one resorting to sunglasses. :cool2:

Maybe we should have gone to the sunglass look, but I don't think that James or Marlene had any.

I've never had the schoolbread, but I've heard good things. The cream puff looks great! That's too bad about the blegh sandwich. Ham and apples would have probably caught my fancy too. I hate those decieving-sounding sandwiches. :sad2:

I think she was inspired by the scene in "Ratatouille" where Remy describes the joy of taste combinations. But this one didn't work out so well for her.

Just wanted to let you know I read the whole TR update, just don't have time to comment on it all right now! Too many to do justice until later!

No problem. I'll talk to you later.

Adding to my total count in your pictures, I wanted to add a count of 1 Liesa wannabe!!!

Wha? Where's 10? :confused3

Nice update, Glen. That sun sure was bright with all the squinting going on. I love the pics of James by the train station.

Thanks Kathy. I like that picture too.

Mark was not all that impressed with the school bread either (I don't like coconut so no way am I even tasting it).

I liked it, it just wasn't quite what I had imagined. I like coconut!

Sorry the heat was getting to Judy, but glad you didn't have to go to the medical station.

Me too. Much longer and we probably would have.

Nice update. I was there 2 weeks after you last year and the heat was unbearable. Love how James did his best to keep his eyes open for the photos.

It was hot, right?!

James gave it the ol' college try.

Can't wait for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue update. I love that show.

Also did Marlene get braces over the writing of this report?

Oh yeah, that happened since the trip. The other day I was asking myself why we weren't going back to WDW this summer, and you helped me remember why! Cha-ching.

I swear people stalk your TR all day just to wait for the perfect moment when you post a new update to get the Spot-the-Judy game points. I saw 8 Judy's but I think someone already got it.

Hey, I'm with you...I thought it was 8. Must be some reflections I missed.

Now going back to read

ETA: Sorry to hear Judy wasn't doing so well by the end there. I can totally relate with the extreme heat and humidity. Some times you just need to escape the heat. I find Epcot and DHS are really bad for that. I'm sad to hear you didn't like the School Bread as much. I guess when you go in with high expectations you can easily be disappointed. Actually yours did look on the small side. Usually they're pretty big!

A lot of people say Animal Kingdom is hot, but Epcot was blistering that afternoon.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the school bread. I just thought it was going to be....more. More delectable, more amazing, and more of it. Look at it compared to Marlene's cream puff!

Tribilín;40707913 said:
Mmmhhh! Everything looks extra yummy... and ham and apple really sounds yummy too... I would have fallen into that trap too :lmao:

Hi Trib! I was glad I already had my selection decided!

Tribilín;40707913 said:
And by the way... how was the weather that day? :rotfl2:

The sun was angry that day my friends.

Nice update. I love Epcot and could do all my days there as there always seems to be something that you missed no matter how many times you have been.

So true. Even with the time we spent, we felt like we shortchanged a couple of pavilions.

Sorry about Judy but I so can relate because last year we went in July and I had to go back almost every afternoon because it was so hot and I felt like I would pass out if I kept walking. I even had to stop a few times before getting to the buses. Didn't help that I got some kind of a sun rash on the first day and the sun would burn on it.

Yep, you've gotta duck into a store or inside attraction every so often to keep your temperature down.

10 Judys!

Where? Where?

Well...I saw 8 Judys in the family shots, then 1 walking around the garden in Germany and then the top of her head in the last photo of in China. No?

Well...I saw 8 Judys in the family shots, then 1 walking around the garden in Germany and then the top of her head in the last photo of in China. No?

That's what I saw too, but will go back later tonight and re-check, then re-check again. Oh, and I'll also comment as well. ;)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:I am not touching that one- the woodbench next to the Candi shrine??? :rotfl2:

I don't get this one....and I think it's better that way.

I only count 8 Judy's. I will go back ( again ) and look harder - I'll be in the basement.:lmao:

I have looked and looked I only see 8 :confused3

I'm with you.

Well...I saw 8 Judys in the family shots, then 1 walking around the garden in Germany and then the top of her head in the last photo of in China. No?

No, that's a different woman walking near James, and it's somebody else's head in China. I think one of the kids may have paused with me to watch the acrobats for a second (maybe Marlene) but the others started walking.

That's what I saw too, but will go back later tonight and re-check, then re-check again. Oh, and I'll also comment as well. ;)

You guys are seeing Judy's around every corner!

Sorry, double post.

No problem. The DIS was acting up tonight. It took forever for a couple of posts of mine to load.

Well I clearly need to improve my game, because my record for Judy hunting is terrible. :headache: Practice makes perfect? :confused3

I had to skip so much banter! But at least I'm caught up.

IMG_4733.jpg
So cool! One could even say...super-cool! (cute doggie, too!)

I loved hearing about the girls' pick-a-pearl experiences. One of these days, I'm going to pick a pearl! I always think about it, then talk myself out of it. Eventually, I'll just give in. :rolleyes1

Adding to my total count in your pictures, I wanted to add a count of 1 Liesa wannabe!!!

Surely you were talking about the Chinese acrobat. I told God I either wanted to be a gymnast or Olympic ice skater in heaven with my new body. ;)

No, that's a different woman walking near James, and it's somebody else's head in China. I think one of the kids may have paused with me to watch the acrobats for a second (maybe Marlene) but the others started walking.

You guys are seeing Judy's around every corner!

Well, I was sure that was Judy walking beside James in the train picture, but on closer look, sadly, it's not. She doesn't have a backpack, i guess.

The head was worth a try.... :confused3 So I'm back to 8, and reluctantly have to concede that there were other WAY ahead of me-----again. WAH!!!!

Those pictures are too funny. I may have actually laughed out loud. Then I got busted because I told Creightons dad I am working on my paper for school so he would do the bedtime routine. :confused3:lmao:

I may have asked you this already but I don't remember -- What kind of camera do you have? My friend wants to sell me his Nikon D3100 for $300.

Anyway, I better get back to writing this paper....or browsing around the DIS some more. :rolleyes1

Random thoughts- not in any order...

1) I LOVE your new workplace adage.. "No matter how fast you squeegee, someone's always going to step in your puddle". I think I may actually have to adopt that one sooner than I'd like to admit as I approach 50. :lmao:

2) Chinese acrobats are just WOW!

3) That sandwich looks very UN-DISNEY!! VERY. I mean it's looks like Deli Farms lunch meat with not much else.... on store bought bread. YUCK! I thought you were going to tell us next that they used Miracle Whip.

4) Glad Judy (all 8!!!! of her) got home ok. That sounded scary hot, and a break was a good call. The last thing you needed was swooning Judy.

5) I liked your random Italy shot.

OMGoodness!!! Glenn, I know I should be feeling sorry for you - staring into the blinding sun, and Judy getting heat stroke, but I was :rotfl::rotfl: Your comments about all the squinting, and the looks of confusion were :lmao:
You'd think the Photopass guy would figure it out, but I guess if there is nowhere to look :confused3 I hope you had sunglasses with you?

I think the school bread used to be bigger. It seems like I remember it filling up the white part of that plate before. Budget cuts again, I'm sure. Sorry the ham and apple sammy wasn't good. :sad2:

And, Liesa, I LIKE Miracle Whip. It actually has flavor! I always think it's funny when people use mayonnaise and then add all the things to it for a salad that make it taste like Miracle Whip. :rotfl2:

Holy counting-pictures-of-Judy, Batman!
61 pages already!
Why have I been putting in OT at the office? I've fallen behind on my TR reading again!:scared1:

1. Love the fridge car
2. Marvali and Fauntleroy are quite witty in the repartee
3. Shh! my dog is asleep under the covers, I've just crept back in the bed with laptop for a bit of reading & a cuppa! 1 hr!:surfweb:

Okay, that sun is bright!

These are too funny! I don't know what's funnier, the looks on your faces or the fact that the guy just kept snapping away even when you were in obvious pain. :rotfl2:

These might have worked better in front of POTC. Then you could have all been doing your best "Arrrrr..." pirate face.

And, we just kind of zipped past Italy also. I took this picture as we went by, although I’m not sure why. It seems to be of nothing in particular.

I'm with Liesa. I kinda liked the picture, too.

These bathrooms are just to the left of the model train, if you’re facing Germany from the middle of the lake. And if you are facing Germany from the middle of the lake, make sure you move before Illuminations starts. ;)

:lmao:

Well, apparently ham and apple sounds like an interesting pairing, but Lauren didn’t like her sandwich very well. :crazy2: In fact, she was sorry that she’d ordered it and didn’t finish it.

:crazy2: Well, you win some, lose some, I guess. Where's the Dole Whip counter when you need it?

When we got around past Mexico and were approaching Future World, there was a cast member trying to squeegee a big puddle of water into a drain. He had some cones set up to keep people from walking through where he was working, but people kept walking through, completely oblivious.

But I wasn't there until September!

I guess it’s true in every job…no matter how fast you squeegee, people are always trying to walk through your puddle. :headache:

:rotfl: Very well put! I'm totally stealing that.

I think we stopped in Club Cool, as a half-way point on our trip to the bus stop, just so Judy could get out of the heat for a couple of minutes.

Good thinking. Nothing cools you off like an ice-cold Beverly. :thumbsup2

I’m tempted to say “best day ever”, but when I think of the others, how can I compare? It was definitely…one of…the best days ever! (And it wasn’t over yet!)

Interesting...our "best day ever" took place in the WS as well! Must be something about that place. :goodvibes

Well I clearly need to improve my game, because my record for Judy hunting is terrible. :headache: Practice makes perfect? :confused3

That's okay, it's not a requirement for following along on the TR. You'll still get a few more chances.

I had to skip so much banter! But at least I'm caught up.

Cool. :thumbsup2

So cool! One could even say...super-cool! (cute doggie, too!)

Thanks Nory!

I loved hearing about the girls' pick-a-pearl experiences. One of these days, I'm going to pick a pearl! I always think about it, then talk myself out of it. Eventually, I'll just give in. :rolleyes1

It is soon time to give in, I think Nory. Maybe hubby can buy you one when you get him there?

Surely you were talking about the Chinese acrobat. I told God I either wanted to be a gymnast or Olympic ice skater in heaven with my new body. ;)

I think he was just talking about your Judy-do guess, but it'd be funny to see Marv in the tights of any of those people -- acrobat, gymnast, or skater. :rotfl2:

Well, I was sure that was Judy walking beside James in the train picture, but on closer look, sadly, it's not. She doesn't have a backpack, i guess.

Yep, not her. I think the ladies all made a bee-line to the restroom, but I opted to leave that detail out of the trip report. But maybe it would have helped with the game, so sorry about that.

The head was worth a try.... :confused3 So I'm back to 8, and reluctantly have to concede that there were other WAY ahead of me-----again. WAH!!!!

Yes, I think it's time that I award this round to Dan.

Way to go Dan! :cheer2:

Those pictures are too funny. I may have actually laughed out loud. Then I got busted because I told Creightons dad I am working on my paper for school so he would do the bedtime routine. :confused3:lmao:

Glad you liked them. You're kinda sneaky I see. :tiptoe: I'm sure you tried to tell him that there was something funny in that school paper.

I may have asked you this already but I don't remember -- What kind of camera do you have? My friend wants to sell me his Nikon D3100 for $300.

I have a Canon XSi. I'd have to do some research, but $300 for a D3100 may be a good price. Does that include lenses?

Anyway, I better get back to writing this paper....or browsing around the DIS some more. :rolleyes1

Hey now, that paper's not going to write itself ya know.

Random thoughts- not in any order...

Okay, in that case I'll answer them in my own random order.

2) Chinese acrobats are just WOW!

Yup. I wish we could have watched them a little longer.

5) I liked your random Italy shot.

Thanks, I just can't remember what I was even trying to capture...the architecture, the people, or Via Napoli that hadn't opened yet....

1) I LOVE your new workplace adage.. "No matter how fast you squeegee, someone's always going to step in your puddle". I think I may actually have to adopt that one sooner than I'd like to admit as I approach 50. :lmao:

And as a nurse, you might have plenty of puddles to squeegee.

4) Glad Judy (all 8!!!! of her) got home ok. That sounded scary hot, and a break was a good call. The last thing you needed was swooning Judy.

Yes, she's already swooning over me on a daily basis, naturally, so there's no need to add heat stroke to that.

3) That sandwich looks very UN-DISNEY!! VERY. I mean it's looks like Deli Farms lunch meat with not much else.... on store bought bread. YUCK! I thought you were going to tell us next that they used Miracle Whip.

I didn't even try that sandwich. Maybe I should have so that I could have given a better report. But I doubt that I could tell the difference between Miracle Whip and mayo on a sandwich. Dunking Belgian french fries into...yeah, I could tell the difference, but not on a sandwich.

OMGoodness!!! Glenn, I know I should be feeling sorry for you - staring into the blinding sun, and Judy getting heat stroke, but I was :rotfl::rotfl: Your comments about all the squinting, and the looks of confusion were :lmao:

Yes Tammie, you should be feeling sorry for me! No, I'm glad you liked the chapter....I was afraid this one was going to be "just there", not that funny, but I guess that's the next chapter.

You'd think the Photopass guy would figure it out, but I guess if there is nowhere to look :confused3 I hope you had sunglasses with you?

A couple of us had sunglasses, but I guess we wanted to be able to see our (squinty) eyes in the pictures.

I think the school bread used to be bigger. It seems like I remember it filling up the white part of that plate before. Budget cuts again, I'm sure. Sorry the ham and apple sammy wasn't good. :sad2:

That makes sense that maybe the school bread used to be bigger. I've read in other reports where people ate half and then saved the rest for the next day....but I could have eaten a couple of those, no problem!

And, Liesa, I LIKE Miracle Whip. It actually has flavor! I always think it's funny when people use mayonnaise and then add all the things to it for a salad that make it taste like Miracle Whip. :rotfl2:

The people at Kraft love you.

Holy counting-pictures-of-Judy, Batman!
61 pages already!

Hey, you found us! :yay:

Why have I been putting in OT at the office? I've fallen behind on my TR reading again!:scared1:

I don't know? Where are your priorities?!

1. Love the fridge car
2. Marvali and Fauntleroy are quite witty in the repartee
3. Shh! my dog is asleep under the covers, I've just crept back in the bed with laptop for a bit of reading & a cuppa! 1 hr!:surfweb:

1. Thanks!
2. Yeah.
3. Sounds like a nice morning!

These are too funny! I don't know what's funnier, the looks on your faces or the fact that the guy just kept snapping away even when you were in obvious pain. :rotfl2:

He must get paid by the photo count.

These might have worked better in front of POTC. Then you could have all been doing your best "Arrrrr..." pirate face.

Good point. If I photoshop a POTC background in there instead of Japan, they might look good!

I'm with Liesa. I kinda liked the picture, too.

Okay, I knew there was a reason why I left it in the chapter.

:crazy2: Well, you win some, lose some, I guess. Where's the Dole Whip counter when you need it?

Yeah, really!

But I wasn't there until September!

And I'm sure you walked through some poor guy's squeegee puddle without even realizing it, and he's still ticked-off about it.

:rotfl: Very well put! I'm totally stealing that.

Glad it's steal-worthy. :thumbsup2

Good thinking. Nothing cools you off like an ice-cold Beverly. :thumbsup2

You said it! Nothing can compare. That doesn't mean it's good, just that nothing is like it.

Interesting...our "best day ever" took place in the WS as well! Must be something about that place. :goodvibes

::yes::

Hi there Glenn just checking in my "all better"laptop!!:rotfl2:Phil fragged it , installed even more anti virus thingies that are free !! He also has it set up where he can hook into my laptop from home and fix it that way next time :scared1::worship::rotfl2:Good having a True Computor Whiz as a friend !!!

I have a Canon XSi. I'd have to do some research, but $300 for a D3100 may be a good price. Does that include lenses?

Yup, he is upgrading to the D5100 once it is released and he is going to give me the lens that comes with that. He is also going to give me a few batteries and something else but I can't remember what it is off the top of my head.

He is a good friend of mine, however, he takes crappy pictures. I wish I was kidding. Yesterday I took Creighton to the zoo so I asked my friend if he wanted to go with us. We went up to feed the Giraffes and I was so excited he was there to take pictures. Well let me show you the one and only picture he took of Creighton feeding the giraffes...

Well, photobucket is not working so I guess I cant show you.

Anyway, I want an SLR and I want one bad.

HOLEY MOLEY!!

I hate to admit it but I SNORTED I was laughing so hard at everyone skwinting (thanks for the correct spelling Dan!!) in those pictures..they just kept coming and coming and coming..

LOVED IT!!

and I have to agree, that the chinese food was mighty tasty looking - and why is it true that no matter how much chinese food you eat, you're always hungry 2 hrs later?? :confused3

I have to say I agree with the heat levels - we had been at WDW the week before you guys, and it was HOTTER THAN HOT that week - my oldest wasnt drinking enough (we realized after the fact) and by dinner on day #3, he was fading fast! We had to really curtail the activities those last 2 days...

BUT..lessons learned - We're going to invest in those gatorade single packs you can dump into a bottle of water and have him guzzle one each morning and then make sure he's always got a water bottle on him at all times..and that he's drinking from it, not just carrying it around....:rolleyes1

He and I are the same in that we dont "sweat well" - well, since girls only "glisten" and don't sweat that would be appropriate for me after all...:laughing:...but we both tend to get really, really red in the face....and that's how you know we're getting too hot...its not attractive at all though..:sad2:

well, Im normally just "too hot" naturally, but that's a different discussion all together....:lmao:

It's good to have friends who are computer whiz's! Viruses are no fun....I know. :sad2:

Yup, he is upgrading to the D5100 once it is released and he is going to give me the lens that comes with that. He is also going to give me a few batteries and something else but I can't remember what it is off the top of my head.

The D3100 kit on Amazon costs around $700. (But you probably already know that.)

Oh nuts, I wanted to see that crappy picture. Giraffe's may or may not make an appearance in the next chapter. :rolleyes1

Yeah, those weren't the best set of Photopass pictures we've ever taken.

and I have to agree, that the chinese food was mighty tasty looking - and why is it true that no matter how much chinese food you eat, you're always hungry 2 hrs later?? :confused3

I have no idea! But I'm sure that you could get a government grant to look into it. That sounds like a pretty good idea actually.

It was sooo hot that week. We tried to be good, drink lots of water, etc., but I guess we needed one or two more breaks indoors to escape the heat while we went around the World Showcase. We did stop in some shops that I left out of the report....I remember looking around in one in Italy.

He and I are the same in that we dont "sweat well" - well, since girls only "glisten" and don't sweat that would be appropriate for me after all...:laughing:...but we both tend to get really, really red in the face....and that's how you know we're getting too hot...its not attractive at all though..:sad2:
