Most Expensive / Moist Exhausting Continued - Final thoughts and wrap-up

(where you move your hand in a circular motion in front of you as if you're fanning your tummy

I know that one...but I've never used it for waiting.

Okay, can I confess that in my several trips to Disney...I had never been in the shops on this side of the street?

Confessions are quite therapeutic aren't they? I did mine BEFORE my trip. ;)

I shouldn’t have been irritated because as it turned out, she was just in time to hear this announcement:

:mic:
“Tonight’s showing of Wishes…is temporarily………delayed.”

Women's intuition?

One nice thing about this particular visit to Space Mountain is that we didn’t have to convince James to ride, or attempt reverse-psychology or anything like that, since he had finally summoned the courage to ride it (and loved it) a couple of days before.

PHew! Otherwise, you'd have ended up with not only a Yeti, but maybe an alien mask too.

IMG_4147.jpg

Don’t you think it would be better if they put the cameras at a more exciting point of the ride? The ride hasn’t even really begun at the point where the picture is taken now.

Judy looks like she knew so she could at least fake it. :rotfl2:

IMG_4153.jpg

Even though I look a little hunched over. (But you know what that means -- I get to use my favorite smiley!)

smiliehunchback.gif

Hmmmm.. SE picture or this one. I can't decide which one makes me laugh harder.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Okay, confession time again…I’m pretty sure that this was my first-ever ride on the People Mover, or Tomorrowland Transit Authority, or whatever name it’s going by today. If I was ever on it before, it must have been looong ago, and I don’t remember it.

More therapy. Almost as cathartic as the TTA itself.

(I can literally hear all of you out there, smacking your foreheads.)

OUCH! Stop it!

But wait, this is my luck we’re talking about here.

Sucks sometimes, don't it?

(No, wait, light travels faster than sound…let me try that again.) We 1) saw a flash of light and 2) heard a "boom" from fireworks in the park. (That’s better. Or, at least more accurate.)

Last week it was algebra, now physics!? You're KILLING ME!

delayed…” until…

our next trip. :sad1:

But look at the bright side- there IS a next trip!

For those of you keeping score

Some of us really do pay attention.

(The year before, James had advised that we’d be better off watching the 4th of July fireworks (on the 3rd of July actually) from the beach at the Polynesian.

Smart kid you are raising!

[*]Magic Kingdom fireworks (You have to work pretty hard to miss these, don't you?)

Impressive though how you managed it!

[*]My wonderful Spaceship Earth photo.
[*]Quotes, like “Here James…smell beaver butt!”
[*]A Grey Goose slushie.
[*]The “more rockin’” phone call.
[*]Pick a pearl.
[*]Hoop de Doo Revue.
[*]The most intriguing cowboy picture I’ve ever seen.
[*]Yet another ride on Space Mountain.
[*]And, my first ride on the People Mover.

That's quite amazing for one day!!

I have a few that could compete for Rosie funnies !!!!:rotfl2:Unfortunately the 2 that would have won were not recored on camera !!!!The Fantasmic Torpedo and The Pop Elevator !!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

That SUCKS about the fireworks! Though, I dunno, sometimes after a good long day at the parks, a timely bus is even more special!

Yes it goes with the job, we all have to stay if someone doesn[t show up to relieve us or if there is an emergency !!:scared1:Luckily it doesn't happen often , holidays can be trickey with everyone wanting OFF!!!:scared1::scared1:

Fortunately you get satisfaction from other areas of the job though....and free trips to WDW every now and then.

that stinks you guys missed the fireworks...you would have thought they would have made an annoucnment like they are on and will start in 3 minutes.

If they had said that they would "start in approximately 15 minutes" or something like that, something other than the same message that had been announced for over an hour, I might have believed that they would still hold them.

you know if your phone was normal, you could have road the people movers with us on the MK day, that is where we were waiting for you while having our little texting mission back and forth.

Fair enough! That texting delay was not helping things that morning.

but im not to that part of the TR yet...will be in about 2 chapters.

And I thought I was taking a long time!

Morning Glen !!! Just enjoying a sunny day and some peace and quiet !!! Both have been rare !!!:rotfl2:

Glad it's sunny in western NY. It's supposed to be beautiful all week here.

Two big shockers there, well actually three...

I can't believe you never rode People Mover:scared1: or visited the Emporium and that you missed Wishes (we tried to avoid wishes and still caught a good portion of it:rotfl2:)

I know, they're bombshells in the DIS trip reporting world.

Exactly -- Wishes is hard to miss, even if you tried...but somehow we managed to despite trying to see it.

Well there is always next trip:goodvibes, and despite that sad ending you had a pretty amazing day:thumbsup2

It was a really great day, so I can't complain. And now we have some goals for the next trip.

Well, I'm sorry you guys missed Wishes...by that much. But at least you got some new experiences most people miss, such as seeing the Main Street Emporium.

Aw, you lobbed me a softball -- "Get Smart".

Really? Most people miss the Main Street Emporium? :rotfl2:

Either Disney needs to move those ride cameras, or your family really hates Space Mountain. :rotfl2:

I'm taking this as a challenge to come up with some creative poses for next time. I'm thinking "conga line".

Anyway, I think Kathy says it best:

I guess I had it coming.

I am amazed that you were there for a week & missed Wishes!

Me too!

That would be our luck to see them go off right when we're getting on the bus.

If it weren't for bad luck....well, you probably know the rest.

But, :yay:, for riding the People Mover!
James looks like a Space Mtn pro-rider now. I'm glad he's conquered that fear.

Yeah, he loved it! Now, to get him back on RnRC, which he rode in '09, but wouldn't in '10.

I know that one...but I've never used it for waiting.

You use it to actually fan your tummy?

Confessions are quite therapeutic aren't they? I did mine BEFORE my trip. ;)

The whole "hairy feet" discussion?

Actually, I think there was a confessions discussion of "never done's" on Jordan's thread a long time ago.

Women's intuition?

Not exactly. More will be revealed in the next chapter. ;)

PHew! Otherwise, you'd have ended up with not only a Yeti, but maybe an alien mask too.

If he'd played his cards right...but he didn't. Thank goodness.

Judy looks like she knew so she could at least fake it. :rotfl2:

She wasn't faking it -- that part of the ride is exactly her speed.

Hmmmm.. SE picture or this one. I can't decide which one makes me laugh harder.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

It definitely has to be the SE picture because I kind of like this Space Mountain one.

More therapy. Almost as cathartic as the TTA itself.

I'd rather be on the TTA.

Last week it was algebra, now physics!? You're KILLING ME!

This is a very educational TR.

But look at the bright side- there IS a next trip!

:cool1:

Some of us really do pay attention.

Oh I know you do.

That's quite amazing for one day!!

It was! A great day, indeed.

I have a few that could compete for Rosie funnies !!!!:rotfl2:Unfortunately the 2 that would have won were not recored on camera !!!!The Fantasmic Torpedo and The Pop Elevator !!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I remember the torpedo story, but not the elevator.

That SUCKS about the fireworks! Though, I dunno, sometimes after a good long day at the parks, a timely bus is even more special!

I agree, I love a timely bus. But on the last night, he could have delayed a little.

wow how did i miss this trip report..fantastic! subscribing

:welcome: LMO429! Your screen-name looks familiar...I think you signed-on when I was on the first thread, but I must have lost you when I had to start a Part 2. Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you're subbing.

OMG - that totally stinks about just missing the fireworks, but I can totally understand why you didn't go back. Such a bummer! Maybe when they keep saying they are delayed, they really mean it.

Next time!

I am still pretty shocked that it was your first ride on the people mover. That's one of my favs (although I missed it on my last trip - for that matter I skipped all of tomorrowland - go figure :sad2:)

Can't believe its your last night. I really want to hear about your upcoming plans.

Where there's DVC points there is ALWAYS another trip!

And I thought I was taking a long time!
well in all fairness, i dont think im doing that bad, since i was there a few more days than you, so technically, im ahead of your schedule if you factor in the amount of days and the time it takes to finish your TR.
:thumbsup2

although marv is really pushing it on his, he make take the crown.
:rolleyes1

HOLY COW BATMAN!!!

I was gone for 2 weekends (to deal with Estate stuff) and the week inbetween (out of town training for work) - and I missed 11 pages of chatter - and I get to the end and I find out its OVER???

:scared1:

YOU'RE DONE???

HOW CAN YOU BE THROUGH??? :confused3

Im not ready for you to leave...you must have forgotten to tell us about a few other days...

What do we do now? Who do I talk to?

oh....Im so sad.....:sad2:

You don't remember when I got stuck in the elevator at Pop!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:Let me tell you it was definately PANIC button abuse !!!!:rotfl2:

No, I missed that one somehow Rosie.

Next time!

Yeah, who knew. I guess I'm so used to people not really saying what they mean (think airlines!) that I was overly cynical.

I am still pretty shocked that it was your first ride on the people mover. That's one of my favs (although I missed it on my last trip - for that matter I skipped all of tomorrowland - go figure :sad2:)

I know, it's shocking! But I have been on Carousel of Progress a couple of times.

Can't believe its your last night. I really want to hear about your upcoming plans.

Where there's DVC points there is ALWAYS another trip!

I think I'll still have a couple of "last day" chapters and then wrap-up. I'll try to remember to mention whatever info. I have on the next trip then.

well in all fairness, i dont think im doing that bad, since i was there a few more days than you, so technically, im ahead of your schedule if you factor in the amount of days and the time it takes to finish your TR.
:thumbsup2

No, you're not doing too bad. Although you did get home earlier and so you got an earlier start on your TR.

although marv is really pushing it on his, he make take the crown.
:rolleyes1

No doubt!

HOLY COW BATMAN!!!

Robin, is that you?

I was gone for 2 weekends (to deal with Estate stuff) and the week inbetween (out of town training for work) - and I missed 11 pages of chatter - and I get to the end and I find out its OVER???

Calm down, take a deep breath. As I mentioned to Mary Ellen a couple fo quotes above, I'll have a couple of chapters on our last day activities, and then some wrap-up stuff. So, this TR is not quite done yet. Whew! Feel better?

:yay:

Yes! About as many as those who miss TTA and Wishes. ;)

Hey, you wouldn't believe what I found in the Magic Kingdom. Most people miss it because they visit the "lands" around the outskirts, but right smack-dab in the middle is a dadgum big 'ol castle!

You use it to actually fan your tummy?

Yeah, something like that. :sad2:

The whole "hairy feet" discussion?

Actually, I think there was a confessions discussion of "never done's" on Jordan's thread a long time ago.

There was. But I don't recall hairy feet being part of it. Only the fact that for as much talk as there is on here about Dole Whips, a LOT of people had never had one. And a few had even missed the TTA! :lmao:

Not exactly. More will be revealed in the next chapter. ;)

More intrigued than ever here.

If he'd played his cards right...but he didn't. Thank goodness.

Silly boy. Imagine the loot he could have come home with had he thought things out.

She wasn't faking it -- that part of the ride is exactly her speed.

:lmao: Guess that makes it even funnier!

It definitely has to be the SE picture because I kind of like this Space Mountain one.

Ok Quasi... whatever.

I'd rather be on the TTA.

Oh come on- there's probably a few more things you need to get out in the open. ;)

This is a very educational TR.

If you throw in calculus, I'm leaving.

Finally had a minute to get caught up! I actually read through your latest update at a normal pace since I knew I didn't have to worry about the Judy-do contest! Really great update as usual. Sorry about the rain and the Wishes tease!!! :confused3

Sounds like we put the same priority on some rides since my latest trip was the first time on the TTA also. I was really expecting you to be more worried about how much Judy might be spending in the Emporium the longer she was in there........ :rolleyes1

Oh, and I agree with the count of 3, so congrats to Jen!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

They're that good, huh?
Nothing can be THAT good!!! :thumbsup2
Yup - Back to the typical results for me. :rotfl2: Not surprising, I am late all over this week. We are getting close to summer and I actually have work to do at work. :lmao:
For a minute there, you had me worried.......
I am going to say 3 , 4 and 5 Judy's !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Cheaper by the dozen Rosie???
well in all fairness, i dont think im doing that bad, since i was there a few more days than you, so technically, im ahead of your schedule if you factor in the amount of days and the time it takes to finish your TR.

:rolleyes1
Hey, when I finally got a chance to check in I had to brush the cobwebs away, so I'm just happy somebody even KNOWS I'm pushing it!!!

You might have to use a third order differential equation soon to calculate how long it has been since I updated!!!
If you throw in calculus, I'm leaving.
Oops, sorry to run off your regulars Glenn...... :guilty:

third order differential

That's not calculus, that's shop class. So nobody panic, I'm staying. Especially if it comes with a buffet like that one over on Barry's thread.

If you throw in calculus, I'm leaving.

Well, you know your limits. I don't know how you could function without something so integral.

I'd throw in derivative too, but my brain hurts :headache: from just that much.

Thanks. I'm glad you found some time to get caught up.

Sounds like we put the same priority on some rides since my latest trip was the first time on the TTA also.

Wha? You too? Does Kathy know?

I was really expecting you to be more worried about how much Judy might be spending in the Emporium the longer she was in there........ :rolleyes1

I can tell you've been married a while Marv.

Hey, when I finally got a chance to check in I had to brush the cobwebs away, so I'm just happy somebody even KNOWS I'm pushing it!!!

We're all waiting to see how we did on the latest contest.

You might have to use a third order differential equation soon to calculate how long it has been since I updated!!!
Oops, sorry to run off your regulars Glenn...... :guilty:

Oh, she's not goin' anywhere! :)

That's not calculus, that's shop class. So nobody panic, I'm staying. Especially if it comes with a buffet like that one over on Barry's thread.

I could see you in a shop class. ::yes::

Sorry everyone, I tried......... :guilty:

BTW Liesa, no buffets for Hobbits!!! :rolleyes1

Oh, I don't know...they love a second breakfast, so I'm sure a buffet isn't too much of a stretch.

Hey, Marvin (Marvali on here) is staying at Old Key West also, I think around the same time.

Are you excited yet? Well, you better start! Are you walking everyday, to get your stamina built up?

Let us know when you start your trip report, so that we don't miss it. :thumbsup2

I'll make sure my Line Green Mickey Head is visible so dissers can say hello. :wave2: Am I walking every day ??? Sadly, no. I'm lazy like that. I do play tennis, however, does that count ?? It's something anyway.

Can't wait to get my trip report started, especially with the dining included this time. I'm not sure I can milk it almost a year like you have. You have some mad trip report skillz :rotfl:

Well, you know your limits. I don't know how you could function without something so integral.

Watch it, buster.

I'd throw in derivative too, but my brain hurts :headache: from just that much.

Mine was done about 35 characters ago...

I can tell you've been married a while Marv.

:lmao:

We're all waiting to see how we did on the latest contest.

Uh-huh!!!

Oh, she's not goin' anywhere! :)

You'll have to try harder than that.

I could see you in a shop class. ::yes::

REALLY?!! Well, ok. Maybe. Over near the vending machines.

Oh, I don't know...they love a second breakfast, so I'm sure a buffet isn't too much of a stretch.

And Elevesees, and dinner and supper. Sounds like a perma-buffet to me. :confused3

Well seeing as Glen hadn't heard of my elevator nightmare !! The last family trip Judy and the kids were at the poola nd I went to the room to get something !!As the door closed it madean onimous sound moved a little then STOPPED !!!:scared1:I pressed the UP button, the down button the open door butten and NADDA!! I thing pressed very hard , very long and very often the PANIC button !!! Called Judy on my cell and screamed HELP . Her comment "MOM they are coming , was it you pressing that button soooooo much" Yea Baby that was ME!!!:rotfl2:She then asked if anyone else was in the elevator !!"NO I have it all to myself ":rotfl2:Apparently a Paniced Mom thought her son was on it !! I heard the CM's coming and somehoe they got it to go up and got the door opened so I could get out and believe me I did !!!:rotfl2:
Phil had his version of it (He wasn't there buttttt) I was in the elevator wrapped in just a bath towel and as they got the door open 30 Chinese Popparazzi took pix !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
So Glen if you want pix you have to find those Chinese Guys !!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
