Hey, traveling in New England sounds like fun. I'm glad you were able to catch the latest updates. Did you like the storyteller comments? For some reason, I thought of you when I wrote them. I still crack up every time I read through it.
Yep, that's James' head, both times. It's our fault -- if we'd been able to get him a haircut before the trip, you would have never made that mistake.![]()

Here, castmember Yuka practices to be a Price is Right model while Marlene tries to contain her excitement.

What does Marlene look like, when she is bored?
Oh, and of course I love the WS picture too. You should definitely get it framed! It remindes me of old town panaromas from the 17th century or so, which are often displayed in official buildings, my grandparents had a very old print like these. You photograph(s) seem to be a modern version of it. (Does this make any sense to you? I could go on a search on the internet to find an example of these prints).

So close yet, yet so far! Again!Though technically James is a part of Judy and we are counting Judy parts, yes? No? Probably no.
Great update! We've seen the pick a pearl but haven't done it yet. I was waiting till my littlest DD was a bit older.
Marlene and Lauren picked pretty pearls! Ugh, that sounds like a tongue twister.I love all the fanfare involved in the process. I'm sure we'll dropping some $ there next trip ourselves.

That poor Japanese story teller! She looks like she's suffering from food poisoning or something!Do they normally roll around on the ground like that? It must have been QUITE the story she was telling!
Ooooh, and I love the pic of the big pic! It came out great. Don't use it as a border though silly. Hang it in a frame!![]()
Swiffer is cute!! You should do more Swiffer sightings, give poor Judy a break for once.![]()
Me too! You know, after I posted it I thought to myself, Marv will be along in a minute to back me up!
Then I realized it was James' head, not Judy's.
I'll blame it on Glenn I think.
I really like the photo print GB. Nice job!
This was a fun update. My girls know nothing about the pick a pearl so I hope to surprise them with it on our next trip. I enjoyed seeing how the whole process worked and it will definitely help with knowing how much time to set aside when planning our day.
I love pick a pearl. This September was the first time I did it and it is so entertaining. Those girls crack me up. Seriously.
I can't believe both girls ended up getting a pearl! But what lovely rings. They really look so nice! Good choice.
And the little card for James was so sweet. And you're right - it makes me think of the tsunami and it saddens me because there is no way to know whether those girls and their families are safe.
Voices of Liberty - my favorite! How I wish I could be one!
Great update, Glenn! You did a fabulous job at documenting the whole process. It's hard to be the picker AND the photographer on this sort of deal, so I didn't do too well at getting good photos of it all.
Very funny line about someone sneezing.![]()
I thought the exact same thing. I wonder if these gals go home and ever eat oysters again?
Marlene is still looking rather adorable in her beret.
That storyteller looked like right out of WWF! Smack down!![]()
"I don't understand" is hands-down one of the most useful phrases to learn immediately when learning a new language. It's right up there with "Where's the bathroom?"
Thanks for all the neat documentation on stuff to do at WDW. I had heard of pick a pearl, but wasn't sure what it was all about. Now I am armed with information and I see pearls in my future!
Yes! This was a very funny update...just didn't have time to multi-quote everything. Anything that implies body slams and unintentional slapstick is good by me!
I guess it's good to be known for something...![]()
Great update, some of the best parts have already been commented on, but there is one additional piece that made me laugh out loud:

Wonderful update! I love it when you manage to capture a whole experience with your camera and retell it for us - like the shows and the computer game. This one fits into the same category. And now you have made we want to pick a pearl as well. I had always thought about this, but never really knew wether it would be worth the money. But your experience sounds so lovely, I guess this will go on the souvenir list for me!![]()
I was thinking of the same thing (it would be strange if there wasn't the fact that we had the same grandparents...). And you don't have to search on the internet: your sister inherited one of these prints: A view of London and the River Thames.
All rolled up:

And partly unrolled:

They also had Paris, but I have no idea who got that.![]()
A valiant effort, but no, that is incorrect.
Wow! Correct answer! thegreggersmom gets on the board during the speed round!
Which one, in your opinion, was the toughest to spot, that Poolrat perhaps missed?
I think I missed the reflection one. I caught the nose one ( Got your Nose LOL) and laughed that someone would miss that one.
If there was NOT a reflection one than I missed another one. It was the one where Lauren was paying I think - you can see the bag Judy has in the display case.
Even without the two James Judy's, I still say there are 17 legitimate Judy's now that I have had a tiny little bit more time to thoroughly examine the evidence, er, pictures........
I only found 14 judys....and that's counting the "nose" picture.I haven't looked for reflections, I passed on james' hair since he was too short to be her.
Isn't that Pick-a-Pearl counter so fun? I love the drums and the excitement! DBF bought a pearl for me on our '09 trip, I had it set into a pretty necklace. Glad Marlene and Lauren were able to participate in this, and James got a fun souvenir too! I do hope all of the CM's friends and loved ones are safe. Looking at that map with their names is a bit strange after seeing the ones on the news.
First of all...I had Rei too for when I picked a pearl!!!! She was awesome and very nice when I practiced my Japanese with her.
It looks like 7 1/4 mm is pretty common. She told me it was rare....Now I feel a little less special.
I should've gotten a setting there too. My pearl's still in a little plastic baggie, in my box of "Disney trip" stuff.
Also, the way they wrote Marlene's name in Japanese actually sounds more like "mah-ree"
It was so nice of them to have something for James too!
Great update. I love pick-a-pearl and we go in there every time we go to Epcot but my girls aren't interested in the pearls but love to watch. I got two pearls years ago but never had them mounted. I don't know what happened to them so it is a good idea to get in done there.
