Most embarrassing concert you've attended?

Like most pre-teens in the late 80s, I was really excited to go see New Kids - I saw them a few times.

It wasn't long, though, before I started denying that I ever liked them because they were so "uncool". :o

I do still have their tapes somewhere, I remember listening to them a few years ago for grins.

Oh come on, you know it was a good concert :teeth:

DH found my ticket to a Nelson concert a few weeks ago, made fun of me for hours.

Oh, I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!! :teeth:

Or Conway Twitty (sp). We had won tickets to the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo. He was performing that night. I'll never forget him coming out in an open Jeep with flashing lights sign with his name. It was as if we were transported to Vegas (or the twightlight zone).

LOL my grandparents drug me to see Roy Clark and Buck Owens (from Hee haw fame) at the Rodeo one year.

Then when I was 16 my boyfriend at the time was into punk rock so we went to go see the Plasmatics :crazy2: :confused3 It was AWFUL!! We left about half way through--at my insistance.

Jack Wagner, twice. In the front row both times. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.::yes:: :teeth:

Neil Diamond with my MOM and DAD:eek: when I was about 18-the person that was going with them backed out.

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of.:D

Alice Cooper (you know, the guy who was like a "Marilyn Manson" of the 70's), only because it was free and I happened to be in the area where he was appearing!

Another Nelson concert goer here. LOL!!! Thankfully DH can't make fun of me, he's the one that bought the tickets as a surprise for me {we were dating at the time}. LOL!!!

But I would have to say my most "embarrassing" concert was Tiffany. Friend of mine really wanted to see her, but it was out of town and her parents wouldn't take her. So my parents ended up taking us. Can't believe I admitted to that. LOL!!! My friend and I look back to that day and laugh.

Mine was New Kids on the Block too. It was a present for my 11th birthday, so my dad took me and my best friend. :teeth:

Liberace with my parents and grandmother! (Granny and I both played the piano) I was pretty young (8 or so) and probably didn't even know who he was.

Kenny Rogers' Christmas show from about 10 years ago.

He was just plain awful. Terrible singing, horrible interaction with the audience, pathetic staging, just bad, bad, bad.

Some friends of ours somehow talked us into this one.

The only good part was the Emmylou Harris opened. That was worth the price of admission.

mine would be New kids on the block. I have to admit that i even bought one of their t-shirts too.

MC Hammer with Vanilla Ice as the opening act

:rolleyes1

We were talking about this the other day.

I don't think this concert is embarassing, but other thought it was.

They told me they would never admit going to a ....

Sinead O Connor concert!

I did, and I liked it!

But seriously, The Baja Men was pretty bad.

They were playing at the local Six Flags and the kids wanted to go, so we went.

Oh no, the list is just so long...

Nelson, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Debbie Gibson, American Idol...and I don't even have children to hide behind, I actually brought adults with me. What was I thinking?????:earseek:

I also have a large collection of concert tickets from hair bands. My bad taste extends to all genres of music apparently.

New Kids on the Block (4 Times..lol...not by accident either)

Tiffany...Oh and my friend and I saw O-Town 2 years ago and I was 30 at the time.

hmm back the the oihter thread:) most embarassed to admit was rem,, followed closely by chicago
EDITED to add,, i gotta say this was during my hair band days:) yup i was a long-haired country boy freak during the 80's:) loved the hard stuff:)

On the flip side, I was a huge freak for the Grateful Dead. Great band, but here is the bad part: I considered myself a Dead Head.

Nuff said?

And this would be bad why?????????
I saw the Dead play with little Feat in Maine and then another time with Dylan and Tom Petty. I think that show was in Buffalo....or was it Foxboro.....I know I went to Buffalo to see them. Hmmmmmmm

Anyways, my what was I thinking band was the Plasmatics with Wendy O. LOL

C'mon -- everyone's gotta have at least one that you look back on and think, "What the heck was I thinking???" :p :p

Mine -- Milli Vanilli -- a couple buddies and I were first row. :o :o It was post lip-snych rumors, but prior to their admitting it, so we stood there staring at their lips the whole time, trying to figure out if they were actually singing or not! :p :p

Anyone else? :teeth:

Bob, I saw the exact same tour...it was Milli Vanilli with Seduction. UGH. Horrid. They used to bring women up on stage and they'd sit on their laps. BARF!

I've also seen Richard Marx, Rick Astley.......both of those were awfully embarassing to admit now. What can I say?? I was a young teenager in the 1980's.

phorsenuf, the fact that you can't remember where you saw them was sort of where I was going with the Dead Head thing. My recollections are foggy at best. :p
