Most efficient use of Early Entry at Hollywood Studios?

How do you tackle Early Entry at Hollywood Studios if you are *not* trying for Rise of the Resistance first thing? Start at Slinky and work towards ToT? Or the other way around? Some other order I haven't thought of ? I don't think the other Toy Story rides will be of much interest, but we may want to check out Woody's Lunchbox for a snack at some point.

After Slinky Dog we do try to hop over to Toy Story Mania - I know you mentioned not having much interest but if you’d consider it at all, it’s probably worth squeezing in before heading over to ToT.

And if Toy Story Mania is my favorite, with no interest in Slinky Dog, do I go to that first? Or Mickey and Minnie’s Runnaway Railway, since I want to do that too?

If it’s your absolute favorite yes, bc you may even be able to ride twice and then hustle over to MMRR. I’ve never tried it though so maybe someone else could speak to its success rate.

Editing to add this was in response to PP wanting to ride TSM 2x’s - not Slinky Dog

It really depends on a lot of factors. I've done SDD for early entry and the ride "was down" so it still took probably 45 min. to a hour to get on it. I think they don't always get it started for EE. I've also done MMRR for early entry and still stood in line for at least 30 min. Time of year matters, if you are there during extra busy season, you are most likely going to wait in any line for at least 30 min. unless you get there early enough to be at the head of the line when they open the tapstiles and you doing a really good fast walk. Or, if it's not busy season and the stars are aligned, you are going to get on MMRR in about 10 min., ToT would be just about a walk on and depending on how early and far ahead in the line you are, you might get on SDD fairly fast. I've tried SDD at least 3 times during EE and each time they have not started it running until official park opening. You are still ahead of the game since you would be further up in the line then the park opening people.

As a Tower fanatic, I go straight there at rope drop. It's a walk on. There's also a good chance that after the first ride, the time still reads 13 minutes, so you can sometimes walk on twice.

Then it's straight over to RnRC which will still likely be 15 minutes or less.

I don’t see how anyone can ride SDD twice during EEH. The line gets too long, too fast.

I echo the caution on SDD from above, when I tried to rope drop in Sept it wasn’t even testing yet. I immediately switched to ToT but in retrospect I should have done MMRR then ToT. Park opening crowds go for ROTR, SDD & MMRR so you have extra time to get to ToT before general crowds show up.

When we went this past October, we got LLMP for Slinky, TSMM, and Star tours. During EE, we rode MMRR, MFSR as a walk-on twice (and easily could have gone a third time with a 10 minute wait, also Rey was around and we had a chat with her with no one else in the queue), and then made it over to ROTR for our LLSP before going to Toy Story land for our MPs over there. Without LLMP or SP, I would probably prioritize Slinky but it was immediately at 60 minutes after park open and the wait didn't go down all day. We were close to the front of the pack but decided for MMRR because we had the MP for Slinky and had never ridden RR.

Edited to clarify that I was responding to PP’s question about riding Toy Story Mania 2x’s - not Slinky Dog. Agreed that riding SD twice would be nearly impossible.

Thanks for the input! We will plan to start at MMRR then RnR and ToT. Perhaps we can sneak Slinky in the night before!

And I think MMRR, followed by TSMM is best for me. Hopefully, by the time I get to Toy Story, people will still be at Slinky Dog, so there won't be a long line for TSMM.
