Most comfortable mattress you ever slept on

I know mattress comfort may be subjective, some liking harder or softer but was curious to know what was the most comfortable mattress you have ever slept on. Am looking for a new mattress. Any brand recommendations, etc. or resorts/hotels you have slept on a dream mattress. Would love to hear recommendations, or disappointments. We have also thought about going into the cleaner organic or latex area, but we did like a Beautyrest Black but I am nervous I'll buy and after sleeping on it over night, it might not feel the same or may have too much off gassing. I know it has a cotton filled top so may not be as bad. We're thinking we may like plush as ours feels a little too hard maybe as we're getting older, but would like to hear anyone's views on their perfect mattress sleeping experience!

Don't have an answer, but am tagging along to listen. DW has been talking about wanting to replace ours. Our current one is a pillow top that was what is used in hotels. We got it on clearance from a wholesaler years ago. It's been great, but it's aging and time to go. Don't want to spend an absolute fortune, but want something good.

These are both twin size because I posted the info for my daughter's bed that I recently bought, but the mattress and base are available in sizes up to california king. The mattress link that I posted is too plush for my taste, I prefer a more firm mattress so I sleep on a 10 inch Zinus green tea mattress (the regular, not ultima) and it is honestly the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on! You have to put the mattress on the Zinus base, it feels different on top of a regular box spring--I used it like that for a couple years and it was never comfortable until I moved and bought the correct zinus brand base. The last bed I bought (before this one) was purchased with my now-ex-husband and he insisted we had to buy this super expensive memory foam/coil hybrid mattress and box spring set that we paid well over a thousand dollars for and these cheap mattresses from Amazon are so much better! I wish I had known back then, we could have pocketed the extra money and put it in the Disney fund!

I loved the mattresses at the Grand Californian when we were there last month. I believe they are Beauty Rest when I googled it. We are building a new house that we are moving into this summer. One of those mattresses is going in our bedroom.

The most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on is the Disney Cruise Line mattress. I don't know if it's just because I'm on the ship.....or maybe even the slight rocking of the ship.....but every time I'm on one I sleep like a baby

Also will be needing new one soon. Friends of ours just got Original Mattress Factory best mattress they have and swear by it. I don't like firm but not too soft either so I need to go try them. I was thinking of checking out sleep number. DH snores so maybe it would help.

We have actually been looking for a mattress for a year now lol. It really is hard to do don't want to make a mistake like the one we have now which is a Sleep Number, spent a lot on it but over the years even with the adjustability, it wasn't all that comfortable to us, just ok. In fact, my husband prefers our down sofa, says the Sleep Number hurts his hips when he sleeps on his side, and I put a wool mattress topper on it for me. Our Sleep Number doesn't support my lower back like I need. You can make it softer, but like an air mattress, it sinks but doesn't mold to your body giving the support I need. But they may make them better now, ours is about 8-9 years old.

Also following along. Want to replace our Queen with a King in the coming months. I've been leaning towards a memory foam, but Tempurpedic brand seems so expensive and the newly popular "bed in a box" ones (Lull, Casper, etc) are hard to tell the differences between. No idea which are legit, which are good, etc. Also worried about overheating with a memory foam one.

We have a Sleep Number bed. It works great for us. I like a soft setting, and DH prefers firmer. We each get our own comfort level.

I just bought a new one. My old (25+ years) mattress was too hard as I aged, even with a foam topper. I liked a couple of hotel mattresses - Swan, AKV, so I started researching hotel mattresses. Then I looked at what I liked, and ended up looking online for similar ones that were more convenient for delivery. THEN, I went to one of the local mattress stores. They matched the price plus delivery, and it was delivered the next day - a weekend. Funny thing was that when push came to shove, everyone agreed that I really didn't need a new box spring. Certainly not a matching one. Now my bed is soft - after so many years on a hard one, it still feels weird. But a lot of aches and pains have gone by the wayside once I heave myself out of it in the morning!

So that was a nice way of saving, since I splurged on a mattress. Ironically about a month later while travelling, I tried a memory foam one. Didn't like it at all, so now I'm happy.

It is really hard to jump and buy a new one, totally get that, worried about not liking as it's hard to just lay in store on one and figure it out. What mattress did you end up buying, what ones are in the Swan? I have heard that Starwood mattresses are great, we've stayed in some Starwood Westins or Sheratons and liked the beds, other times they were a little hard.

My waterbed was the best. We replaced it with a "real bed" about 10 years ago and I haven't slept well since.

Ok, I have problems with chemicals, so I sleep on natural latex. Even the "coolest" memory foam mattresses cause me to sweat. I have 5" of soft latex toppers on top of a medium firm base, and sleep like a baby. No joint pain, husband either and he's a side sleeper.

My concern is how much would you really be able to tell by laying on the mattress for 10 minutes in a store...while the salesperson stares at you? It may feel comfortable for a few minutes, but a nights' sleep...or many nights sleep...is an entirely different thing. It's almost like test driving a car, but even more difficult.

My favorite mattress are the old style ones with the inner spring, lots of stuff around it, etc. My current mattress, I believe is a Serta. Cost me over $2,000 many years ago. I know they say you should replace at 10-15 year intervals but this thing still looks and feels like it hasn't been slept on. No dents, sagging, etc and perfectly comfy.

I've tried Sleep Numbers and memory foam and I just don't care for it.

It really is subjective.
