We are WDW frequent travelers but will hopefully be traveling to Disneyland in mid-December. Which hotel (on- or off-site) would you say had the most comfortable beds? Looking for a firm-ish mattress. For reference, we are deluxe-resort stayers at WDW but always with a deal to lower the price. I'm looking at both off and onsite hotels for this trip, having a hard time rationalizing the big markup for onsite when I can stay across the street for a fraction of the price...

Looking forward to hearing the response! Thanks in advance.

Hilton Anaheim. Really comfortable, but I'd expect it from Hilton.

Ramada Plaza Anaheim were very comfy our recent stay. More of a medium firm.

Welcome Disneyland Hotel beds, again a medium firm but so comfy.

I'm staying at Howard Johnson this weekend and hear great things !

I'll go for a 1 to 10 scale, 10 being Heavenly soft pillow top clouds, perfectly firm underneath, fallen from the sky. In parenthesis after the rating is the approx. cost per night I paid:

Park Vue Inn: 8 ($150-200)
Tropicana: 6-7 ($110-130)
Super 8 on Katella: 7 ($45-80)
Desert Inn and Suites: 2 ($70) So firm that I considered sleeping on the floor for some softness (will never stay there again, but if I did, I would bring an air mattress)

The Sheraton has comfy beds. Hilton Anaheim, DLH, and GCV as well. We didn't love the beds at the Embassy Suites South.

I agree that the beds at the DLH are super comfy. It's the only onsite hotel I've stayed at but I would imagine that all the onsite hotels would have the same beds.

Thanks everybody for the recommendations so far! I may have to look a little closer at DLH. Most of the others mentioned were on my short list already. I can't wait to make some reservations!

HoJo (#1) and DLH (#2) are the two best I have found in that area for mattress comfort giving support but not making my hips/back ache from being too firm. PVI is slightly firmer than these two. FFI a wee bit firmer than PVI. CCI is super soft, and I do not recommend it for you.

Hojo has the best beds for my body. We stayed at the DLH once post-remodel and I do remember that bed being very comfortable too. While I like Candy Cane Inn in general, I find the beds to be something of a negative for me, just not comfortable enough for a good solid night's sleep.

Funny, DH and I prefer very firm mattresses, so I found them quite comfortable. I really dislike squishy mattresses. Loved Desert Inn; it was very clean and comfy, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Going back in September.

I hated the bed at the Desert Inn! We stayed there a few weeks ago and it was so hard, I didn't sleep good for three nights. My niece even complained about it. I won't stay there again because of the beds.
