Are mosquitoes bad right now?

I have seen several people say "don't forget your bug repellent". We were down last year the last 2 weeks of October and first 2 weeks of November and didn't notice a bug problem at all. Just wondering if things are different this year.

I'll be at FW in 2 weeks and I am planning on taking my bug sprays. We live in Florida and have noticed a greater number of mosquitos in the past couple of weeks. I think it is due to all the extra rain and standing water we had from several hurricanes. I actually can't remember ever seeing as many mosquitos as I've seen lately.

I am also going to take fabric softner sheets to see if they will keep the mosquitos away as other members have posted they had much success with them.

We just got back today and didn't notice a problem with mosquitoes. Only one night did we notice something was biting us but don't think it was mosquitoes, maybe sand fleas??? Don't know what it was but it's not a big problem.

We just got here today ... sat outside for awhile tonight. I was fine but my wife had some bites, not sure what.

We sprayed a little, but all in all not a big deal.

Saw some friends in the overflow lot just leaving. They said no problem.

Side note ... note that crowded at this point (Sunday afternoon).

Seems like more bright spaces than I remember. I think FW lost a lot of trees making for more sunlight, but maybe its just me.

Still the best CG in the USA ...

Anyone here from this board ??? We are in site 122. Stop by.

We didn't have a problem with mosquitos but something ate our feet up at the campfire program. We sprayed our feet before we went to the campfire after that. I was thinking sand fleas, too, but I don't have a clue what they are!

If you have not been to the fort in a year or so they have been clearing trees away from the sites to make room for the bigger rigs anyway. So that combined with the loss of trees from the storms and it is a lot more open than it used to be.

Never had problems in Feb. with bugs but then you never know. Always come prepared.

Note to all writing about sand fleas

I believe that most people would refer to the little buggers biting you as being no-see-ums. Sand fleas are found on the beach where the waves break. They are good bait for catching fish.

I was at Epcot last night and I have about 20 bites on my legs today! It's driving me nuts! Itch, itch, itch!!!!!!

Any good solutions on itching? My neighboor told me to dab vinegar on them. I'll try anything.
