Someone on one of my RV groups inquired about the Morryde suspension upgrade.

Have any of you had this installed? Did you find it to be worth the money, particularly if you travel roads that aren't well-maintained?

We had some damage to our trailer on our WDW trip due to the rough interstates, particularly in Louisiana (I 10). I'm wondering if this would be a worthwhile prevention. I'm estimating it would cost about $800 with parts and labor. (We are not handy enough to attempt the install ourselves. We actually want it done correctly. lol)

My newish 5er came with a Mor-Ryde shackle kit. I don't know how much a difference it makes. The only thing I have read that makes a noticeable difference are shocks and air bags. Both are very expensive options and not every trailer can be modified without considerable work. I looked into adding shocks to my prior 5er and it involved modifying the axle mounting points and having shock mounts welded to the frame (which also voided the frame warranty).

I do know that "wet bolts" do help considerably with wear on the shackles. My old 5er would wear out the bolts every few years from the constant friction from the suspension movement. It ended up breaking the shackles after a number of years. (I had the trailer for 13 years.)

There is a lot more to this.

First, Mor-ryde makes several different types of suspension systems. With the cost your quoting you must be talking about upgrading the equalizer between the leaf springs (cre3000 or sre4000). As to if it will improve the ride much depends on what your upgrading from. If you have a solid metal equalizer then it would make a significant difference but I believe most towable's are coming with some sort of cushioned equalizer already like equa-flex. Improvement over something like that would probably be less significant.

Mor-ryde also makes a independent suspension system which is what a lot of people are referring to when talking about Mor-ryde. Its a huge upgrade but comes at a huge cost. 4k-5k+
