Morphsuit in disney?

Now I have a problem....
should I use red to match my MB
or
yellow to match my poncho....

Here is where Disney describes what is NOT permissible.

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/parks/recommended-dress/

Nothing says kid's costumes can only be princesses or pirates, or have to be Disney Characters.

If one of these suits really freaks you out or gets your goat avoid the Toy Story Soldiers in the parks, they basically look like this with combat clothing on.

If the reason the morph suits freak you out is not liking the idea of strangers with obscured faces in crowded places, it is still reasonable to be OK with the Toy Soldiers, who are Disney employees and therefore easier for authorities to identify and hold responsible for their actions.

Oh, you know, just the usual. You're a bad parent! No, YOU'RE a bad parent. No YOU are. No YOU ARE. But my kid feels this way! But MY kid feels this other way.

I don't have any kids!

YES!

A thread where I can just point and laugh. Life is good.

So... What are we arguing about, again?
If I am following this thread correctly, I think you are arguing over whether or not it is inappropriate for a 10 year old child to dress up in a morph suit in a place called Fantasy Land. pirate: Enjoy your trip OP and enjoy the heck out of these years when your kid wants to be silly and dress in morph suits! Scott[/QUOTE]

Thank you Scott... You kept me from posting something snarky and you are making me have some sort of pre-nostalgic moment. I hope my son always wants to be silly and dress in morph suits. I totally enjoy him and love that HE loves to surprise people and make them laugh. He will be making an appearance somewhere in St. Augustine this Sunday ... In his morphsuit... Maybe with mouse ears.

If these things are a fashion trend, then it's one that hasn't reached my area yet. Haven't ever seen one. I find them a bit creepy...but I also find the Greendale "Human Being" creepy...and even Slim Goodbody. It's my own hangup.

Also, even for a child, they don't leave much to the imagination and one really needs to have a particular body type to pull off that outfit (like someone wearing a speedo or a bikini). Tween boys in particular I would think would have a very tricky time of things.

I know Disney doesn't say no Spider-Man's. (Do they own spider now? Potentially bad example) but we aren't talking a little guy. 3 4, 5, 6, not abnormal. At a certain point what is normal becomes abnormal. If I saw a big kid (my kids were 5 ft tall by the time they were 10 ) earring one of those I would think one of two things. The kid had issues or the parent had no boundaries. Maybe because those are the people I work with every day.

Oy, calling a ten year old kid "abnormal" for wearing a costume is pretty harsh! And then to go on and suggest the parent "has no boundaries"?

I hope you don't mean to call the OP's son abnormal, considering you DID say you thought the costume was appropriate to wear to games.

Sorry I offended. Got caught up in mapgies' assertions that all costumes all the time were ok.

Please reread my posts. I never once said that "all costumes all the time were ok".

I have been absolutely consistent in saying that the costume can't be worn to Disney since there's evidently a rule saying you can't cover your face. And I've also said costumes shouldn't be worn to solemn or formal occasions like church or your great grandma's birthday.

What I was responding to was your assertion that - even where allowed! - there's something abnormal about a 10yo who wants to dress up. And you gave examples such as a 10yo girl wanting to wear a Tinkerbell costume to Six Flags.

I don't know this fictional girl, but I still feel sad that you think she's abnormal and her parents lack boundaries. :upsidedow

Oh, you know, just the usual. You're a bad parent! No, YOU'RE a bad parent. No YOU are. No YOU ARE. But my kid feels this way! But MY kid feels this other way.

:rotfl:

Well I am a parent, but since my kids are perfect I will join you in the pointing and laughing. ;)

Have to say, if I had kids, I would probably say they're being ridiculous and no they aren't wearing that.

HOWEVER, tis none of my business what anyone elses' parenting strategy is, nor what someone else chooses to wear, for that matter. And it doesn't make me shake my head when I see it, nor lose sleep at night. We all do stuff that someone else in this world thinks is ridiculous.

Why that concept is so hard for some people, idk.

I say let it be.

Most people say they can't.

Back to pointing and laughing.

RIGHT?!? My word, people get freaked out about the silliest things.

I think I'd laugh if I saw this kid walking around, and honestly, how much would he really stick out amongst the princesses (of ALL ages and sizes), pirates (ditto), giant dog (Pluto), Alien (Stitch), giant mice (DUH), etc etc etc. And as for a child being frightened? Really? If they're not afraid of Captain Hook or any of the other frightening characters, not really sure why this would bother them. EXPLAIN that there is a child in the 'costume' and I'm sure they'll be fine. You CAN talk to your children, ya know. ;)

I also kinda think family photos at the World with one of the kids dressed like this would be conversation starters for decades to come. =D

Cannot believe this is really a question... sorry but you are the parent and have the right to make the call for your child to dress reasonably... which means things like telling them to wear a coat when it is below freezing, stop wearing pants below you backside and you are not in blue man group so No - you are not wearing that bodysuit around WDW.

it's called parenting not crushing one's individuality.

Um, the OP just wanted to know if it was allowed and when she found out that Disney doesn't allow masks that cover the face, she stated that he wouldn't wear it.

I think she knows how to parent.

As for me, I couldn't less about making my kids wear coats. If they don't wear a coat, they'll get cold. It's a self-correcting problem and hardly requires parental intervention.

Heck, one winter one of my kids refused to put his boots on before running out in the snow. I stuck a dry pair of socks in my pocket, picked up his boots and followed him outside. When his toes hit the ice, he started to cry. I said to him, "So, how do you feel about putting your boots on now?" :lmao:

I suppose that means I don't parent my kids...

I think some people need to take some lessons in mindyo own..
Woman asked a simple question, she got a simple answer..
Mine ya own bidness, you don't know her or anyone to be judgemental.

now that's out the way..

does saran wrap chafe?

OP has already said that she is going to obey the rules and the child is not going to wear the thing. Not sure why people are still fighting over it.

I say let the kid wear the suit, just be prepared for a CM or security to ask him to take it off. Also bring a change of clothes for him.

Hopefully he gets the crowd going like this kid did in his two-toned morph suit... I was dealing with these suits all summer....
