We leave next Tuesday for Fort Wilderness.... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We have a preferred site - driving a 35' RV (if that matters) I requested loop 100 or 200

I was wondering how busy the comfort stations are in the morning.

There will be myself and 3 teenage girls wanting to get a shower before catching the bus to be at park opening. Their Dad will probably stay in the RV.

Any one know how busy they are in the mornings? How many showers there are available? How much time we should allow? And will 8am be early enough to catch the bus to be at the parks when they open at 9am?

Any help appreciated!!

Thanks!

If you are going in the summer the comfort stations can get very busy in the mornings. If you are going in the off seson no that busy. The 100 & 200 loop share the same comfort station so theres about 60 Rv's and 2-8 people Rv you do the math. Each comfort station has 4 shower per sex and 2-4 heads.

Thanks Stillh2o -

So what time would you recommend we get up to have time to get to park opening? I'm thinking it will take the girls about an hour to get ready, but I want to allow time if they need to wait to get a shower.

Thanks for your help!

comfort stations are open 24hr so earlyer the better. We just Shower in the motorhome it is faster for us and don't have to wait and a little cleaner for me. FW comfort stations are very clean but my shower is less used.

Don't forget that the front of the 400 loop also uses that comfort station, so plan ahead. It was busy during our recent stay in the middle of June.

We stayed in 100 loop June 10 - 14. The comfort station was not crowded, however 1 shower was out of order, 1 had a dribble of water which left only
two operating. There was no hot water one day. Beware the entry door does not close unless slammed hard. There are snakes around the low plant growth near the sidewalk. Made for some excitement if door hadn't been slamed and there was a 2 - 3 inch gap. I decided to use our Rv after seeing two snakes besides the walkways. Loved 100 loop for transportation longest we every waited for a bus or boat was 10 minutes once.

SNAKES :earseek: AHHH! Was Kaa from Jungle Book there? :rotfl:

Thanks to everyone!

Maybe we'll try to shower in the RV :confused3

I had hoped if we were up and at the station by 5:30 or 6am, we could easily catch the bus by 8A to go to the parks.

We'll find out soon!

Thanks Again... Wendy

Hi Wendy!
With 3 teenage girls, you might NEED to use the comfort stations! :-) Besides the possibility of all of you showering at the same time, there are multiple sinks and lots of mirrors. Really cuts down on the grooming time for so many girls. I can't imagine you all getting ready in the camper. :-) Hopefully, you'll do fine showering at 5:30 or 6:00. The only time we had any problems with having to wait on a shower was when we camped in the back part of the 1600 loop and shared a comfort station with the 1500 loop (a partial hook-up loop). Since that loop is for tents and pop-ups, there was a great demand for the showers, so we showered early and beat the rush. Try the comfort station the first couple of days and see how it works out. Have a great time!!!!

SNAKES!!! NOOOOOOO!!!! :earseek: :scared: :scared: :scared: IM so scare of snakes and rats, mice !! rat/snake fobia!! If i see one i get in shock and go crazy!!!

Thanks for the info you guys!

I always shower at night, but then I do return to the comfort station in the morning to change clothes. I'm one of those tent campers in Loop 1500.

I have never really had to wait more than a minute or two to use one of the shower stalls to change clothes in the morning.
