DD10 had a sleepover with one of her friends last night. This one has not come over before and I heard her exclaiming, "You are sooooo lucky! You can do ANYTHING you want here!" :rotfl2:

We have a two story house and the kids bedrooms are upstairs, the master down - so yes, they do have the run of upstairs. Apparently, DDFriend thinks this is rad. (I don't bug them about toys and such daily - but they do have to clean completely up once a week.)

Also - look at my signature. :) Now that we are down to DD10 and DD6 - I'm pretty relaxed and as long as they "operate" within the rules - No sweat.

How do other people's sleepovers go?

Pretty much the same thing here.

I also have the kids rooms upstairs and my room downstairs. There is also a full bathroom and small "Toy room" upstairs so they can stay up there all day/night. I let them snack upstairs, stay up late, etc.

Although the kids are young I would rather than 100 kids over here, and sometimes average about 8 non-relative kids at once. At least I know that they are being supervised and are safe.

I didn't have a lot of sleepovers when I was a kid, but the whole upstairs of my parent's house was mine from the time I turned 12 to I moved out when I was 18. I basically had a whole other house on the 2nd floor, I have a living room in one room with a TV, couch and similar, I had an office to study in and a bedroom. The master bedroom and guest bedroom was on the first floor as was the kitchen. My friends all loved hanging out at my parent's because we were in our own "world".

DD11 went to a friend's house for a sleepover last night. Apparently she didn't sleep at all and has taken two naps today. I usually stay out of the way when DD has friends over, but I do enforce SOME sleeping during the sleepover. DD also had her pj's super dirty because when DD finally fell asleep, other girls "decorated" her with pop tarts... I wasn't too crazy about that either, but DD wasn't upset. We have our sleepovers in our finished basement, because girls can stretch out with their sleeping bags and watch tv, play Wii, foosball, air hockey etc.

I had a huge bedroom and when I had sleepovers mom would sleep downstairs in the guest room so we could be "Loud". She used to let us take whatever food we wanted up there and drink soda out of champane glasses. It was fun. I only recall getting in trouble once and that was cause we were making the celing fan downstairs shake.

DS11 calls our second floor his apartment. Two bdrs., 2 bathrooms, living room, wet bar and playroom. The kids go upstairs never to be seen again.

For regular sleepovers I usually set a lights-out time so the next day isn't ruined. Generally, it's about 11 pm but then the girls can talk and giggle all they want so long as they are not disruptive to my sleep;)

When we host a birthday party or DD goes to one I expect there to be little sleep. I always make sure we have no commitments for the following day. This year I nixed the birthday sleepover because they are just getting more and more "drama"...but DD convinced her Dad to let her and 8 of her closest friends have a sleepover at his house. Revenge is sweet:laughing:
