We are getting ready to make our reservation for our Spring Break trip 08 at our home resort and hopefully change over at the 7 month mark to Vero.

The point chart at Vero for March is much higher than other times of years. We would like to stay 7 nights.

Can you tell me about the oceanview inn room. How big is it? Have you spent a week in one....and did you go crazy?? We will have two children with us.

Info on the one bedrooms....where are they located? Do they have an oceanview?

Any ideas, tips on getting the best use of points? I thought about staying Friday and Saturday in a studio and then switching to a one bedroom.

How easy is it to pay cash for the weekends at Vero?

Thanks for any advice.

We stayed in a Inn room for five nights with my five yr old and my six month old. It didn't bother me at all. I've stayed in a third floor one bedroom that had a great ocean view. I think it was in building 15, but I honestly can't remember. We've usually not stayed over the weekend. We usually fly into Orlando and stay there Saturday night and then drive down early to Vero on Sunday morning. I have a friend who has payed cash for a Sat night stay however.

We stayed for 5 nights as well with a 8YO, 6 YO and a 1 1/2 YO and it was wonderful! No probs at all.

We stayed there last month and I posted a trip report with photos. We had a 1BR (mom & I) on the first floor of villia 12 whcih faced teh ocean, but you cannot see it, due to the shrubs and the two cottages. You could probably see the ocean from the 3rd and possibly the 2nd floor.

We stayed 2 nights, Saturday and Sunday, and it cost me 113 points (which I had to use anyway). The resort was great! Personally, I would go for the 1br with your group, but that is just my choice for space (and that tub!). We originally had a Ocean view inn room, but my waitlist came thru. You see, my mom snores..... :lmao:

Here's a link to my trip report...

Think of the typical DVC studio with 2 queen beds. I think they are the best value at VB.

We've stayed in three different OVIR at VB. Two of the three were quite large and there was room to spread out. One was somewhat smaller than the others and we felt rather cramped with our kids. This year, when we stayed a weekend night, we did pay cash and had the member discount. That seemed like a better value to us (plus, as always, we were out of points).
We were there during October and had no trouble getting the discount, don't know if it's harder to get during their peak season or not.

Dean - once again you're performing magic!!
Please tell us how an OVIR at VB is the best value at HH! :rotfl2: ;)
LOL, thanks for pointing out my typing error. Must have been a Freudian slip.

We     the OVIR at VB, but one consideration with a family is that Vero "blacks out" at night to protect the sea turtles (no exterior lights allowed), which means you will likely end up spending more evening time in your room.

Spring break is the absolute peak season for Vero, hence the higher points.

How difficult is it to book VB for Easter at the 7 month window? I would need a 2 BR. I would like to go Easter Sunday - Friday 2008. I'm wondering if I should consider adding on some points here since I might like to go every few years.
