I am trying to think about what we will do next year and can't decide between a week in a one bedroom or 13 days in a studio. We have done both and DH says he is fine with a studio. I love the big bathroom and having the separate space to be in when he goes to bed earlier than me. I can't decide if the extra space is more valuable than more days. If I am going to stay very long I really enjoy the extra space and especially the whirlpool. Help! :confused3
This trip would be in November during F&W.

I'd be crazy with 13 days in a studio. I much prefer the space a 1BR affords us, even when it is just DH and myself. I don't think I could go back to a studio for anything over 2 or 3 days. However, I know not everyone feels the same as we do.

Thirteen days in a studio sounds like H-E double toothpicks. With that said, I am all about time at Disney. If you have the vacation days, and can handle the close quarters for 2 weeks, then go for it!

Have a great trip!!

I would rather fully enjoy a week, than feel cramped for 13 days. That said, I don't mind a studio when it's just dh and I. With the kids...I need lots of space.:rolleyes1

It would be just the 2 of us but I am leaning toward having more space. I think it feels more like a luxurious vacation in a one bedroom. I would love the extra time but I agree it is close quarters for that long. I think we will add 3 days in a studio at the beginning of the trip and do a split stay. Let the planning begin! :goodvibes

Well I do enjoy my disney. I say 13 nites in a studio. We wanted BCV during spring break it was double the points for a one bedroom over a studio for a week then we added on some more nites in a studio (9 nites total). We were fine and there was four of us, two kids 10 and 12. But I did know we would be staying in an one bedroom (next trip) later in the same year. The March trip was an extra trip for this year. I also knew we would be hanging at the pool quite a bit and really only in the room to sleep, eat breakfast and leave. DH is spoiled and really wanted the one bedroom and he did ask the next time is a one bedroom right?

I like the idea of the split stay and make it 10 days! If you were even consdering a studio for 13 days, you would be fine for 4 days studio/6 days 1 BR or even 5/5. Also, when you get there, you probably spend more time in the parks and then by day 5 will be ready to relax more. Definitely start in the studio, then move up to the 1 Br.

We purchased 250 points at SSR on our initial contract thinking it would be used for a week in a 1 bedroom. Once we tried a studio, we never did that. When it's just the two of us, we always opt for more time. The studio suits us just fine.

When we invite others to join us, we'll get a 2 bedroom. Our summer trip is usually 6/7 nights in a studio with the two of us and 6/7 nights in a 2 bedroom or THV with a larger group. Our "quick escape" trips are always the two of us in a studio for an extended weekend.

For just two people a studio would be fine. In January DW and I spent a week in a studio at BWV and I never felt cramped. With two there will be no need to pull out the sofa bed (I would hope) which keeps the room feeling larger. As long as you don't feel you need the full kitchen I say take the exta time as the luxury instead of the space. You can go a little slower or try thing you haven't done before like tour or minigolf or extended touring of other resorts. Head out to Universal or Sea World or further afield.

Take more time to enjoy yourselves away from the stress of work and normal life. To me that's a luxury.

We always do 10 days in a studio - with FOUR of us. Myself, DH and our two DDS now 18 and 22. Never been a problem for us. We would much rather stay longer in a studio than not as long in something larger.

wow, that is just crazy!! lol:scared1: I do a one bedroom for a solo!! I love to be able to do my own food. I cannot stand restaurants...and could never spend more then 4 nights without my 4 AM egg whites! 10 days sound good!!

I think you came up with a good plan - to do a split stay. But like another poster mentioned, I would start in the studio and then switch up to the 1 bedroom. That way you can get your laundry done too.

Depending on where you plan to stay the split stay sounds like a great idea with the studio portion first as PP suggested. I would even go for two resorts with OKW for the 1BR being a must ( my favorite resort) and maybe the studio at one of the boardwalk resorts or AKV. That way you could stretch the points to allow more days than your 1 week in a 1 BR. Happy Planning - sometimes that is one of the most fun parts of a trip.

No contest!!! We always get a 1 bedroom for the two of us unless we are planning an extra night here and there. If we want to do that, we will start with a studio for a couple of nights and then switch to the 1 bedroom for a week. It's less points than 9 nights in a 1 bedroom, and we only have to deal with the cramped conditions for 2 nights.

We are right now on our 10 day of our 13 day stay in a studio . We spent 6 nights in Jambo and now are at BCV. I am posting this from our balcony. The original plan was just for DD (21) and myself but my DS (the 24 year old disney fanatic) surprised me for 5 nights. We did just fine when it was the 3 of us and by day 10 still enjoying our stay in a studio. Even doing laundry was a no hassle.

As much as I love 1 bedrooms and was spoiled by our 2 bedroom stays last year (banked and borrowed for that one as it was DS college graduation and there were 4 of us) until I buy more points, I would rather stay longer as right now I can go for 12 nights in May and 6 nights in December staying in a studio (since the four of us can never all go at the same time and there is usually only 2 of us for the extended period of time). :)

I think I would also consider a split stay so you get the 1 bedroom for some of the time.

We went from a studio to a 1 bedroom last summer and really loved being able to stretch out. It was 3 of us--me, DH and DD 14--so that may have contributed.

But, we got home and added 30 more points so our summer trips could be in 1 bedrooms. We only go 5 or 6 nights at a time and want to be able to have the washer/dryer so we can pretty much do one suitcase for all and at least have a few nights in that wonderful tub!!!
