I've got my design ready (see below) and I have transfer paper from Amy...

Now for the biggest problem and hopefully an easy solution....

How to I print the design so that I have no white showing in the design except for the names in the Mickey ears and black lettering of Family Vacation 2010. I've used Photoshop Elements and have a transparent background. (I'm new to PSE so I don't know all the ends and outs of it just yet). I've also saved it as a
png.

I'm using red t-shirts and when I go to iron them on, they end up having the white behind the design.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The transfer paper itself is white so the transparent area WILL be white.

You have two choices:

1) print the top images (graphics) on the transfer paper from me and the text on light transfer paper (so the background is clear)

or

2) make the background on the design red to match the shirt. It will appear as if the text is printed on the tshirt itself.

I would go with option #2 because doing option #1 would make the graphic the matte finish and the text area would look shiny (because of the light transfer). But this is just my personal opinion. Your choice.

Anyone know of a good light transfer paper? I just ordered some dark from Amy, but would like to have the light transfer paper as well.
Thanks!

Thanks, Amy!

I'll figure out which to do tomorrow when I have more time!

Love the transfer paper, BTW...so much easier to work with than the ones I've had in the past!

I've been pleased with the Avery brand white transfers.

Also for the OP. You could also put a border around your disign to give it an edge. You can do autoshapes, circle, oval, square rectangle, etc. I prefer to do oval or rounds so that you don't have corner edges for your transfer. You can choose the line style, weight of your circle as well. I've printed a couple where I added a circle or oval border around a disign so that the white didn't print on the transfer. It will also give you a little contrast even if you choose to do a red fill inside to match the shirt since the red fill will likely not be an exact match to the shirt.
