We stayed in building 2 last time, and loved it. But it's a long walk to the back. Don't laugh at me, but are buildings 1, 3 or 4 any closer to the crosswalk? What building are the kids suites in? Thanks!

The kids suites are all in Bldg 1. I have only stayed in building 2 and liked the quiet. Fortunately we never did really long days in the park so the walk was okay.

All kids suite are in building one (which is right of the lobby).

When you walk all around the parks all day long...

the walk back to Hojo's is maybe - maybe at most - 5% of our day's walking around in Disneyland and California Adventure Park.... That's including to and from Hojo's...

I just asked my husband his thoughts on this and he figures the walk there and back is far less than 5% of what we do walking around the parks. I agree with him.

So, in theory, it's a minute, miniscule, mickey walk back to Hojo's, even after a long day at the parks. :goodvibes And then you can chant to yourself, 'There's no place like home... there's no place like home...' as you walk toward the closest building, building 1, and sink into your Heavenly (TM) beds! :)

Since you've already been there, you will see that the next time you stay it seems even shorter (of a walk) - not sure why that is.

I found that taking Advil or Motrin once a day or so helped a lot with the pain that can ensue from walking around in the parks. It actually prevents me from feeling much pain because it's an anti-inflammatory.

The property isn't that big, so I completely agree with the poster above me. The amount of walking on the property is miniscule compared to the amount of walking you'll be doing throughout the day.

That said, some have complained about the noise in the tower due to I-5 traffic. I stayed there and didn't notice it.

Our family stayed in Building 2 facing the garden pool and found it was a 10 min walk (closer to 20 with tired kids). I will be staying in Building 3 for my solo trip, simply as I wanted a room closer to the front, and did not want to take a room that could have had a family in it, instead of one person. Bear in mind that in buildings 3, 4, 5 and 6 are double storied with no elevator, so if you don't mind lugging your suitcases up and down stairs, they should be fine. Over all I would say a 7 to 10 min walk to the parks, and if you cross Harbor Blvd at Manchester you avoid alot of congestion on the sidewalks.

I have no problem with walking, nor does dh. I love walking, and would walk to a hotel further than HoJo's if I had to. We have three young kids tho, and only the 4 yo will be in a stroller for the next trip. The 6 and 8 yo will be walking. I've already decided to stay at HoJo's rather than a closer hotel, because I KNOW it will be clean and comfy and quiet, which is most important. And even though the walk back to the hotel is NOTHING compared to the walking we do around the park, for the kids it is the longest and worst part at the end of the day. Thanks for the input that building 1 is closest to the crosswalk. Last trip dd8 was literally laying in the HoJo parking lot saying she just couldn't make it back to our building. Yes, she is very dramatic.

We stayed at the HoJo last month and our 8yo did great walking back, but I'll admit the 6yo drama queen was a pain on the walk. Of course she would have been a pain in any situation because we'd run her ragged and it was waaaay past her bedtime.

As far as building 1, we loved the family suite, but the traffic noise in our room (1st floor at the end without elevators) was horrible. It didn't bother DH or the kids, but it kept me awake.

We found that cutting across the Mimi's parking lot saved about 1 minute of the walk and hey, a minute less of listening to the 6yo whine seemed joyous!

We just stayed in building one a couple of weeks ago and we didnt mind the walk at all. Actually we prefered it. We usually have a sleeping child in our double stroller and we dont like to take them out of the stroller to load the tram so we have to use the pedestrian walkway back to Mickey and Friends parking structure. Now that is a Walk! :) So only having a 10 minute walk back to the hotel was nothing. And the best part was we didnt have to load any sleeping children into the car and then out again for the hotel. It was an easy shot straight to the room. I would book this hotel again just for the convienence. Gotta love those sleeping babies. :)

Another vote for building 1 - we also stayed there a couple of weeks ago - no doubt when you were there! We stayed in a Premium Disney facing room and loved it - it was closest to the lobby area and the parks (just about) - we were on the 6th floor though (happy we got a high floor) but by the time we got the elevator and got downstairs, probably could have walked from building 2. The elevator was rarely busy though and we had no problems.

We have 3 kids (7, 4, 2). We take a double stroller and a single stroller. We use the double pretty much just for the walk to and from HoJo's. We park it near the hub, usually outside Star Tours and leave it there while we tour the park. We keep the single stroller with us and let the kids take turns in it if needed. On our way out of the park we pick up the double and give all the kids a ride back to HoJo's. This keeps them fresh in the parks, and saves some stress as we walk up Harbor with cars zooming by. That's our approch to the walk.

This is a great idea! We don't have a double stroller, but we do have a HUGE single stroller that we don't care about. We should take it just for the walk, and then use our Mac Volo for cruising around DLR.

Make sure you walk to and from the parks on the Disney side *not the hotel/motel side* of the street ~ cross the street down by HoJo.

We like to stay in the Pavilion buildings, they are only 2 stories and bldg 4 is (what I think) the closest to the crosswalk. :) Of course the Pav rooms are oversized doubles and there is NO elevator to the 2nd floor so be aware of that before you decide to go with that. :)
