Ok so we are looking at booking 2 rooms at POP since the summer discount cannot be applied to our already booked CR Garden wing room. Anyway...it seems like because its only one adult per room the price is higher? Is that correct? I even went online and checked and the price changes when I change the amount of adults in the room from one to two. Am I crazy?:confused3 With 2 adults the price per room is like $112 and with 1 adult it is close to $170 a night. Anyone else have this happen or know about it?

Don't know why that would be. I stay in rooms by myself all the time, and it doesn't cost more.
I just plugged in dates in July (14-20) at Pop, in a standard room. For 2 adults, I got $166 a night, for 1 adult, $166. Are you sure you're seeing the same room type??

My mother stayed at the poly a few years ago with my brother and his family. When she called to book a room for just herself, she mentioned my brother and asked for rooms nearby. The CM suggested she add one of their three kids to her reservation because it was cheaper than her being alone. I had never heard of this before, but apparently it's the case.

I just tested it for a weekend quick trip I was looking . . .

For a Friday - Sunday, May 31 - June 2 dates, 1 person $357, 2 people $316.00 at ASMu.

I would never have thought that! Since I travel solo, this irks me.

This is totally true. When we travel, myself, my wife and the 3 kids all get one room while my FIL gets is own room. We were told by the CM on the phone to add one of our kids to my FIL's room to lower the cost. I dont know if this is new for 2013, b/c we have been traveling the same way for several years now and this was the first time they told us to add a child to FIL's room.

Are you sure the second time, you did not get the "Spring Offer" discount on the second time? Try it again and click the discount. I was curious so I used the same dates as you for both 1 adult and then 2 adults, I got $357 both times for a standard room, then when I clicked on the special offers, I got $315 for either 1 adult or 2 adults for a preferred room to show.

That is odd, the only way I could see the cost being lower if is any of the additional kids were charged at an extra rate. I know when I travel with more then 2 people in a room that the additional adults are charged an extra fee per night. I thought kids were free in the room.

I know that if I were to book 2 rooms for 4 adults, but the breakdown per room was 3/1, I would probably still book the rooms at 2/2 just so that I did not have to pay the extra per night for the extra adult in the 3 person room.

My family and my sisters family are going to Pop in April. My brother decided to come for a few days to see his nieces and nephew. I helped him book his room and he got the same room rate we did.

I think it comes down to people not putting it threw the same. Not clicking there the spring offer, preferred room ect. The room rate is the same for one as it is for 2.

No it does not cost more for only 1 adult in a room when booking a room only reservation!! As of right now, rooms are priced for up to 2 adults. If there are more than 2 adults there is an extra charge per adult, per night. There is no charge for children 17 and under to make a room only reservation.

Package prices will vary as there is a cost for each person based on age and package components.

Its difficult comparing apples to apples on the Disney website because its very easy to inadvertently change something! I always check the regular room price first on AllEars. This lets me know how much a regular room only reservation should be (without tax).

Regular room only price for ASMu 5/31-6/2 is $158 night weekend rate, $178.54 with tax. MADnNOLA, seems like the examples you listed could be one with tax and one without.. maybe?

I did not use the discounts offered. I just used a regular reservation quote. The only thing I can think of in the 2nd offer, it automatically put in the "Spring Offer" pricing. But I did not select it. :confused3

That should not be. I just priced it with one person and two people and the price was the same.

You are all right...it should not work that way...but it did for us. we booked over the phone and for some reason when the CM did it as 1 adult and then did it as 1 adult and 1 child it came out cheaper. i dont understand it, but i wasn't about to argue.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I went back and checked the site and now it is coming up as the same price :confused3 I don't know it all gets confusing with discounts and ticket add ons and the CM on the phone wouldn't give me an actual breakdown....regardless we love Disney :goodvibes just want the best price of course :)

I had it come up as $316, but that's before taxes. Since hotel tax in Florida is 12.5%, after tax it comes out to $355.50, which is just about $357.

The $316 was including tax. The WDW website includeds taxes in their hotel prices. The "†" symbol is the reference to check the very bottom of the page where the footnote is "† Total Room Price includes tax."

When you request a quote, you first get this page. When you click on View Price Per Night for a standard room, it shows the price for each night as $158 dollars, which comes out to $316 for both nights. When you click on Add to Cart, it then shows the total as $357.08.

Now when I checked through the spring offer, I did get a screen that showed $315 for the price for a preferred room for those two nights with the " " symbol and at the bottom of the page it said that the price included tax.

I have a feeling it is the crazy website

As we know, since the upgrade things have not been right. I have tried again for the same dates, and got the same price both time for 1 or 2 people.

Ahhh the fun of technology! :rotfl2:
