We're at SSR right now. While DD and I were resting this afternoon, DH decided to explore the resort.
He wandered into the Movie theater preview center and scooted down the "Hardhat Hallway" where he happened upon The Secret Doorway....
He said that he tried the door, but it was locked - said it looked a LOT like the doors at the Contemporary...

If your DH happens to go back for another look, have him take a picture for us. Maybe he'll get lucky next time and the door will be open!

We're also at WDW right now...at OKW...on the bus ride from OKW to MK this evening, our driver kept up a running "travelogue" the whole trip...when we passed the Contemporary, he pointed out the construction, saying it was Disney "building more of our very popular vacation club villas."

Yup I saw the door too. It had a silver half moon shape from the top right of the door to the bottom right of the door, Right? I saw it a when they opened the AKV before they changed the door to get in the other hallway. It had a window door in it at that time.

There seems to be a ton of threads on this.!!
All I know is that for three years now we've had CMs, Boat Captains, and bus drivers ( about 30 in total ) tells us that a new tower was going to be built at Contemp. Also that the new tower will in some part have DVC offerings.
That said, I doubt Disney management would continue ( for three years ) to let Cast spread that news if it wasn't true.

And on the construction site, a crane went up of the type used to build tall buildings over the last 2 weeks while we were there. We watched it get ratcheted up, up, up so it can handle a building of the rumored height.

Lots of concrete being poured. Footers, columns, wall sections. Clearly following a somewhat circular pattern aligned to the drawings we have seen.
