After going back and forth between trying to decide to go to DL in May or October -- we finally all decided on October -- we have our airfare booked and ready to go  We are so excited, we can't wait!
I remember reading a thread about Fantasmic and Fireworks in October, but I can't find it. Will they still be doing both of these in October? Does anyone know which nights? It is too far out to check the entertainment schedule. We will be at the park on a Thurs, Fri, and Saturday. I read somewhere to show up for Fantasmic at least 1 1/2 hrs prior to the show -- what is the best spot? How early for Fireworks and what is the best spot for that?
We are also excited for Mickey's Halloween Treat!! I am excited about the huanted mansion because it was closed last time we were there.
What is the weather like in October?
Ok, that is enough questions for now.
TIA!!!

Weekend Fantasmic, Friday-Sunday. I would suggset this. Go to the 9:25 fireworks, and then head over for the 10ish Fantasmic. That way you will have good seats for both, and after the early Fantasmic it's easier to get better seats for it.

I agree! We went last October and it was weekend nights only for both! But October is a great time to go, have a wonderful time. The Halloween decor is beautiful and fun!

I was there last Oct.--I thought it was perfect! I love Halloween so I really enjoyed all the Halloween decorations. The weather was warm, a little cool in the evening. Do you know that the Haunted Mansion will have the Nightmare Before Xmas overlay? It won't be the normal attraction.

I think the hub is the best place to watch the fireworks, as close to the center as you can get. Be sure you have a good view of the sky above and slightly left of the castle for the fireworks and if you want to see Tinkerbell be sure you can see the Matterhorn (she takes off from there, then flies back and forth above the castle. If you can't get the center of the hub, I suggest being more on the Tomorrowland side. If you stand in the street next to Frontierland, the trees block a lot of the fireworks, even though you can see the front of the castle OK. If you want the absolute primo fireworks spot, you might have to get your spot staked out between 7:30 and 8, but it all depends on the crowds. You could probably get a pretty decent spot between 8:30 and 8:45. I agree with the previous poster to see the fireworks and then head over for the 2nd Fantasmic show. MUCH less crowded.

Another bit of advice I've heard here that's good is to NOT put off the fireworks. Try to see them the first night because they sometimes are cancelled due to weather/wind. If you save them 'till the second night and then they're cancelled, your out of luck.

Have fun!!!:thumbsup2
