More Developer Points Questions

Can the developer points be used anywhere? Since they are time limited one thing we were thinking of was using them next summer at DL. Which comes to my next question.

Once the room is booked are the developer points considered redeemed? The reason I am asking is if we buy next month we have one year to redeem them. If we booked a room in DL for Christmas 2008 at the 7month mark would that be ok or do the points and the booking have to be used within 12 months?

I think you can use them anywhere. The points expire in 12 months so if you purchased today you could use those points for travel dates between now and Oct 19, 2008. They wouldn't be valid for Dec 2008.
