I think I am going to try and go there our first night, and thought we would watch the fireworks from the observation deck-are we allowed to if we don't stay there, but at POP?
the fireworks are at 10:00 p.m. that night so would 8:00 p.m. be a good choice for ps? Are all the characters still around that late?

I am confused. Is there an observation deck on the 4th floor? Is there anywhere else to view the fireworks?

No, there is not an observation deck on the fourth floor. The only observation deck is on the 15th floor. I do not know the new policy but I know they used to allow anyone to go out on the observation deck to watch the fireworks. So, if you are planning to eat at chef mickeys then watch the fireworks, you need to check the new policy on the link all5ofus provided and give yourself time to adjust accordingly. HOWEVER, to get the full effect of the fireworks, you should really see them from inside the park, that way, you get the music and all. Wishes is something not to be missed.

And no, I don't think there is anywhere else to view the fireworks. Of course you can see them just about anywhere around WDW, but again, you will not get the full effect.

We will see Wishes from inside the park. I thought it would be fun to take the kids to chef Mickey's and see fireworks the first night. We are not going to waste a hopper day that day and thought we could get the day magic feeling. I just thought we would be able to see them from there somewhere?

lomillerin,

consider monorailing over to the Poly for your 1st night view of wishes and EWP. Check out my response to your other CM thread for more details!

I agree - eat at Chef Mickey's & then hop on the monorail to the Polynesian to see the fireworks. In Dec 2002 we got to see the fireworks from the MVMCP almost every night from the beach at the Polynesian. :)

WOW this is interesting.. I was on the phone with CR on last Friday and we were discussing my PS and she had suggested that we do Chef Mickey at a certain time and then go upstairs to see WISHES...

We were there in January and saw Wishes from the fourth floor observation deck without a problem. Get there a little before the fireworks as it does fill up.

I am confused. What is EWP at the Poly? Is there or isn't there a 4th floor observation deck?

Last month, guests and non-guests were allowed to use the fourth floor observation deck facing the MK to view Wishes. (For the best experience though, see it in the park, nothing else like it!) The deck does fill early.

EWP is the electrical water pageant...only seen at Seven Seas Lagoon hotels, FW and sometimes MK. It's beautiful and fun, but very short. I wouldn't really go out of my way for it (because it's short) but would make time if I was in the general vicinity (like your CM's night).

We were there in February 2004 and watched wishes from the 4th floor observation deck, its at the opposite end from chef mickeys beyond the gift shops. There is no music, although it is pretty it is not the same without the music.
