I was looking at the new prices on Ticketnet for the Ap's starting from the 29th of March and I've noticed a couple of things :sad2:

The AP Découverte seems to be no more

The Francilien now says is valid 280 days a year so 20 extra blackout days

The Fantasy now says valid 320 days a year so 15 extra blackout days

I'm going to phone up today and try and get a list of what days are now concerned for 2012

For those of you that have one of the above AP's and are going or planning on going after the 29th of March this year I hope these extra days aren't happening during your stay as it will mean having to buy park tickets if you were staying off site

Thanks for posting Carrie :)

It is not good news for those that have just bought
APs and may now find the new dates are blockout :scared1:.

I wonder what they would say if one was to challenge this if you were affected. It seems very unfair but then I guess if they want to change the dates/add dates when is going to be a good time to do so? :confused3

Oh no - fingers crossed we won't be affected :(

As DLPDreams said there's never a good time to change the rules - but I hope the changes don't start in April!

I would have thought that the new blackout dates would only apply to new AP's bought after 29th March. People that have AP's bought before the 29th March purchased them under the terms and conditions published at that time.

I hope that this is the case for all the existing AP holders anyway...

Is it still true that there are no blockout dates when you are staying at a Disney Hotel ?

:confused3

Thorsten, I can't see how that could be as if you are room only in a Disney Hotel then it is your AP which is your park ticket (and so will be valid for the dates according to the AP you have).

What you may be confusing it for is, if you are staying in a hotel and have a room package (including tickets) then yes, you can use the tickets instead of your AP, which will be valid for the duration of your trip. Some AP holders find the RO rates are not that good for their date and end up buying a package with tickets instead, especially if there is a good offer on i.e. 40% off.

Hope that makes sense and that is correct? :)

No you're wrong :goodvibes

If you are staying in a hotel onsite with an AP instead of park tickets that has blackout dates during your stay your blackout dates don't count.

You can go into the park as like any other day.

Thorsten for you nothing changes, it will be like as in January. The only thing that it means is that you won't be able to renew your pass for a Découverte next year :goodvibes

According to the person I spoke to, the blackout days stay the same for an AP that is issued already.

So for mine and yours if you have a Fantasy we still have only 30 days blackout :goodvibes

Thorsten you are still good with that. That rule doesn't change and is not going to in the near future.

Your pass is like it was in January until it expires :goodvibes

The person I spoke too mentionned that the new AP Fantasy on sale from the 29th of March would now have EMH with it.

As yet I'm not counting on it as it's just one person saying it but if it's true I might look at what the extra 15 days blackout are and upgrade my AP to the new one and get the EMH instead of the days.

I 'll post more on it if and when I get confirmation ;)

Thanks for clarifying Carrie, I knew you would know the answer ;).

Hmmm can't believe they will add EMH to Fantasy pass APs. Makes you wonder whether Dream APs will be worth the extra!

The Dream has 365 days acces the Fantasy will have 320 days and cost 40€ less.

For me I doubt those 45 days will make much difference, I don't care about an apero or an extra 10% off souvenirs so I'd still be sticking to a Fantasy next October.

For the moment I'm waiting for confirmation on the "extras" in the 2 passes and I've got time to think about it :)

I know, I think most people who stay offsite bought Dream purely for the EMH, but if Fantasy then has it then they may not need to.

We bought Dream as we hoped to benefit from the slightly better RO rates (which we have) and things like the free pushchair hire etc. Plus at 40 euros off each pass it was worth it :thumbsup2

Thanks Carrie ! :grouphug:

We bought a package for my wife with 40% in January. My kid are under 12 years so they were free.

I have an AP and booked myself at the check in as an "extra" person.

It was a very cheap way to stay and I would like to do that again.

So it would be great if the cheapest AP would work without block out dates in the future too.

:wizard:

Have the extra blackout dates been announced I was thinking of buying a fantasy pass in August :)

Ok this worries me... I bought 5 Fantasy APs in the Carrefour offer for our trip, the first day we will be in the parks will be 1st April... Does anyone have any ideas about whether, when we exchange the pass, it will be subject to this years or last years blackout dates? I am just worried about the 1st, 2nd or 3rd April being a blackout date as those are the three days we bought the pass for and we really can't afford to pay extra to enter the park. We will be converting our temp APs to full APs on 1st April.
