I saw the infommercial again this morning. I am thinking about ordering. If I fall in love with this stuff, how much is it going to cost me monthly?

I live in South FL (read sweltering). How will this makeup hold up?

I'm tempted, too.

Does anyone here use it? Does it work as well as the infomercial says?

The only reason I haven't ordered it is because I have yet to order something from television that works as well at home as it does on TV.

Well, it can't work any worse than some of the makeups that I've tried. It's really hard in FL to find something that stays put!

LMAO I love that infomerical... I want to know how good it is too...

I use some of this makeup. I discovered it when I was living in California and have been using it for about 6 years.
I actually don't use the foundation very often unless I am having a really good skin day. ;)
I LOVE the mineral Veil Powder. It is soft and really nice over any foundation. I also use the eye shadows and the liner with a brush. It doesn't irritate my eyes like most other make-ups.

You can order the stuff on E-bay also. Some people sell the travel size containers and that might be a way to try it without buying the full size. QVC also sells it.

Ahh! I use this foundation. :) It's pretty good, but I think it's harder to apply than liquid foundation. Or maybe it's just me, could be! :) The powder has a shiny sort of iridesence to it. I haven't seen the infomercial. I bought mine from QVC. Maybe that's the way to go, because if you try it and you're unhappy with it, you can send it back within 30 days to get your money back :) I looked at the link that Robin posted and someone said something about an instructional video. I did not get a video with my foundation. What some people say is true, wearing that foundation feels like you aren't wearing any foundation at all. Here's a link to QVC if you want to look at their product line. Click Here, then click on beauty, then Bare Escentuals. Am I allowed to post this? LOL!! :p    :p If not Robin, can you delete me please. :teeth:

Is this the line with the mineral veil? What's the difference between that and the foundation?

Ah! Something I know about! :) I have used this for about 3 or 4 years. I really like it. I even order it for 2 of my clients because they asked what I was using. I recommend getting it from QVC because of the easy guarentee/return policy. You must order a brush with it. You HAVE to get the brush. Then you can order refills & the cost is a bit less. The brush will someday need to be replaced. I am fair to medium skinned and to let you know how forgiving this stuff is, I own it in #1,2,3, & 5! My #1 is a trial size & the rest are full sizes. I mix #5 & #2 in the summer. Easy mixed and super easy to apply--no more worrying about blending foundation into your neck! It is lightweight. It gives good coverage. I am splotchy & breakout easily. My clients think I have good skin. I am oily (think USA would have plenty of oil if we could figure out how to bottle it from my face!!:o ) & I apply that as foundation and then the Mineral Veil is your face powder. It is an excellent product. Like someone (about MV) said over any foundation. I use their blush, eyeshadow and mascara (well, mascara came in a QVC kit)
These products last a long time. If you get an eyeshadow or glimmer, you may never need to buy another one of that color.

RobinRS, I think the darkest color (maybe #6?) would be good on Africian-American skin tone.

Truly, I would carry this product in my shop if I could. I like it that well. (Like you all can't tell!!
 :p )

We carry this at our salon!! Ill look into it and tell you all what I think and also the name of the makers of the one we have!!:D

*bump* for those who were wondering. :)

a couple of questions for you about it.

First off, how do you learn how to mix the colors? I know the infomercial offers two tones in the foundation kit. I assume you mix them together to match your skin tone, but can a totally non-artsey, barely creative person like me handle that correctly?

Next, the kit comes with something called Glee. Is this similar to blush?

I've been using bare minerals for about four months and really like it. I don't blend the foundations - have found that light is OK for my skin tone.

The glee is like a bronzer - use a very small amount anywhere the sun would naturally tan your face.

The mineral veil is like a fine finishing powder. Has a cornstarch base and works well.

Haven't tried the bisque yet but plan on getting that next. Use it for contouring or highlighting wherever.

I like it because it's fast and comes out looking good! I buy mine through QVC and after comparing jar sizes have found that theirs are larger then some others I've seen. Also, you can have it delivered automatically every two months with no additional shipping charge so you don't have this large accumulation of make-up brushes.:D

Thanks, Brenda!

I used Victoria Jackson's foundation and it was the only one I ever used that did not ruin my skin!

I found out that there's a Bare Escentials salon in the Lenox Mall near my job and I called and asked if they sell the "makeup on the infomercial". She laughed and told me she answers that question all day. Their business must be going through the roof!

I think I'll go and see how to apply it in person. She gave me the prices and it sounds like for the foundation and the veil it will come to about $42, which is about what the infomercial sells it for. I'll check it out this weekend.

Good for you, RobinRS. I'd have a ball in that store, I'm sure! ;) :)

loisg1 is right. You don't have to blend it. Like I said, I can wear the #2 or #3 with no problem (it is very forgiving) I only mix in summer if I have a tan but actually, I wouldn't even need to do that. When I mix it, I just dip my brush into a little of both, swirl the brush into the lid, (loading the brush) and then swirl it onto my face. It is so easy to use! JJ, my sister can use it and well, if you gave DH a makeup brush he'd probably do better than my sister. She is just unlike anyone I have ever seen! :p
I think it is the easiest makeup to use. I have slept in it (but I still think that is not good!) and had no problems. My skin is actually better wearing this than liquid. It lasts too. To order it by using automated delivery on QVC I think loisg1 said every 2 months but I'm betting you'd have to call and change that to 3 or 4 months on delivery!(Esp. if you don't wear makeup everyday)
If you decide to order from QVC the best route to go would be auto-delivery because the shipping costs change and you save. Since it can be easily cancelled at any time with no type of penalty, I'd probably go that route.

JJ, HSN has a similar product (I don't know the name) but I'm sticking with Bare Escentials because I have been pleased with everything.

I bought this on Monday and played with it on Monday and Tuesday. I got the light kit which has two foundations, the mineral veil, warmth, the cleanser and three brushes(60.00)
I dont know if its because of my coloring or what but Im not really happy with the foundation, (or the warmth for that matter)
I think I will use the veil as a highlighter on cheekbones ect.. over my bronzer.
I also like the brushes and cleanser.
I prefer my studio fix (MAC) over this product. I wish I liked it since we carry it at our salon and I could sell it!!
Others in the salon really like it, Maybe its just me!

For those of you who like it: I was wondering which items are the best to start with. tnkrbell got quite a bit. Is that necessary? Do they all work together or could you just start with the foundation?

ilovdisney,
I know I PMed you but I thought I'd answer you here. :)
I use the foundation everyday. I use a regular pressed blush. I hardly ever use the warmth. Since I'm oily, I use the mineral veil everyday also. Actually, that is all I'd start out with.
Remember the #1 is very, very light.
#2 is yellow based.
#3 is a bit darker and has a rosier base.
#5 is darker (but not the darkest)

I ordered from the infommercial this morning!

It was 60.00 and came with foundations, warmth, veil, cleanser, brushes, video, a smaller brush, and glee .

I ordered medium. I have blonde hair and green eyes, but because I live in FL, my skin is not really white (like I've seen on northerners). I can't wait to try it!
