More Bad News For TimeKeeper

The following quote is lifted from Screamscape.com:

"If they ever want to reopen Timekeeper, it looks like they will have to kick out Buzz and friends. Rumor has it that the lobby area of Timekeeper will be turned into a Buzz Lightyear Meet & Greet area. "

Sigh.... If this is true, it looks like we will have lost another attraction with nothing to replace it (I don't consider a meet and great area an attaction). Timekeeper was not my favorite attraction and I realize it just wasn't drawing the crowds anymore, but surely they could do something more creative with a circlevision theater than this! Oops, sorry I forgot, that would cost them money.

I agree. Timekeeper was not something I ran to get on, but it was neat and entertaining and very cool (temp wise) inside.

bad show!

This is so sad. Another lost attraction. At least they could have replaced it with another circle-vision movie or something. Anything is better than nothing. I too do not consider a "meet and great" an attraction.

Its kind of funny that they used to have this opened for E-Ride nights. Was circle vision even an E-Ticket when the ticket system was still used?

It seems strange that they closed it right before the busy summer season. Even though the attraction did not draw huge crowds, it was a nice air conditioned attraction for those HOT summer days.

Can we please have some good news or rumors now?

It was FREE!! It was one of the three rides (attractions) in the park that were free (because they were sponsored). Circle-vision, If You Had Wings/Dreamflight and CoP!!

I also believe that Hall of Presidents was free as well (as was the Walt Disney Story)

I remember the Hall of Presidents as an E-ticket, but I could be wrong.

Ahh! You refresh my memory!!
I also believe that Hall of Presidents was free as well (as was the Walt Disney Story)
Yes!! The Walt Disney Story was definitely free. (Hey, who got rid of that anyway?)

But the Hall of Presidents was free only during the bicentennial. All other time you had to use (waste) an "E" ticket!!

Aw Gee, I liked the Hall of Presidents. But then I am an animatronics junkie. At least they have chosen to rehab this attraction, unlike what they seem to be ready to do to Timekeeper.

Thanks, DVC I thought I remember it being free (at some point).
But (oh, bother) all this thinking made me remember that the Diamond Horseshoe Review was also free.

What was in the original circle vision? I mean what was the movie about? It has been so long I can't remember it! THere is a website to revisit long gone Disney attractions, what is that website?

YES!!! And one of the best shows as well!! I remember making a bee-line for that place, first thing in the morning, and getting a reservation. But you were dead meat if you were bald! Remember the gal with the mirror? She always picked on the bald guy and left a big kiss (lots of lipstick) on his head!!

They had a few. The first one I remember was America the Beautiful. Kind of a cross country - scenic view - type show.

America the Beautiful is the only film I remember there, but I know there were others. I still remember the jet scene from America the Beautiful. When the pilot rolled the jet, everyone grabbed for the railings. I doubt that would phase anyone now.

Umm, the Buzz Meet and greet was a rumour (I thought Safari Steve Confirmed it) when Time keeper initially shut down. At the time it was announced to be purely temporary. Which of course doesn't mean anything.
My point is
1: Screamscapes announcing old news and putting a decidedly negative spin on it (If it isn't a rumour, If Disney announced the intentions to rehab Time keeper, then Screamscape's commentary is inappropriate)

2: As I alluded to right above, indications were that Timekeeper would get rehabed. Of course, plans change and It may be a goner, but as far as semi-confirmed reports go, Timekeeper will return.

Thanks for the info Yoho.
I knew about the rumor that the closing was temporary for rehab, but I didn't recall seeing anything on the meet and great, so that indicated to methey didnt plan to bring it back. I hope you are right. I will keep my fingers crossed that they will bring back the attraction, though the removal of its sign does not bode well for it.

There already is a "Meet and Greet" with Buzz, Woody, Jessie and Bulls-eye at MGM Studios oh the Green Army men are there as well. I don't think they would have two Buzz's out in the park at the same time...but then again there are two Mickeys...one at MGM and one in Mickey's Town Faire...

My dad was that bald man once (probably the most fun he ever had in his life!).
I'll never forget when the family met back up at the end of the day and seeing dad (with mom) with that still perfect lipstick print still on his head:), and that smile on his face.
Having never seen the show up until that point, I then made it a point to see it.
I managed to be the guy on the balcony that she reflected her heart mirror at.
Too bad I never got to be the hunk she warms up to, then the family would have experienced all 3.
=======================
At Epcot, there has to be at least 2 Mickey's out at a time, since he greets at the Land Grill all day and also rides around on the bus

YoHo. I really don’t want to make a big deal out of this. And you’ve mentioned several times tha ‘things change' and so on and so forth. But, what’s your take? Do you think Timekeeper is a goner or what?

Like I said, I’m just wondering. No big deal. ;)

It was more like a ZZZ-ticket to me! It made me fall asleep back in January. I loved the American Adventure, but wish this attraction were to be put out of its misery. Too bad it most certainly won't.

Silly DISers, everyone knows there is only ONE Mickey! (Play along with me...):bounce:

Disney seems to be getting craftier about their closings now. That is, if The Timekeeper is really a goner. I just wish that they'd remove the "closed until further notice" next to Horizons on the Disney website. OK, OK I get it now! ;)

As far as Mickey goes, don't forget that there's one in Camp Mini-Mickey too plus you can walk into the Land almost anytime and see Mickey visiting diners without having to enter the restaurant.
