There are NO stores in this town except Walmart and K-Mart and two VERY SMALL department stores (Burdines and Belk). I will have to go to Orlando to buy stuff for the grandbaby we are joyfully expecting.

Please tell me where you buy your baby stuff - clothes, stroller, swing, bouncie chair? We have a crib and high chair.

Are there any good on-line sites?

Thanks again.

Babiesrus, Babydepot, and baby center are all good.:)

Babies R Us is where I bought my stuff. Best selection for things like all the 'gear'. :)

I did order her Britax car seat online (and so did my sister) because I could not find them where I lived. It is the one she is in now after she outgrew the one that is a car seat/stroller combo.

Make sure to reasearch and compare everything so you know what you want when you go shopping. :)

Just bought some great baby stuff for a shower at Target.:D

When I was pregnant, I registered at Target so all of my baby gear and supplies came from there. The Target brand wipes are also my favorite. We have a Babies R Us here, too, but I usually just buy my baby things at Target since it seems like I'm always there!

As for clothes, DS gets a lot of stuff from the Carter's outlet here (just bought tons of fall stuff for 50% off!). Target also has cute, inexpensive clothes and so does JC Penney. To be honest, I don't buy DS much clothes...his Meme buys him tons!

We have a Gymboree in the mall, but they never seem to have boy things so I quit going in there because it makes me mad...they do have lots of girl stuff, though.

best deal I ever got on a stroller was at www.strollers4less.com I did some test driving at a local baby store and bought on-line...free shipping, no tax, and about half the price that I had seen anywhere else.

we have no babiesrus near me right now, but we did when we had our first and I bought a lot of stuff there. high chair I bought on-line, though, because I found a better deal on it.

if you haven't seen it there is a fantastic book called baby bargains by denise and alan fields. a huge help in picking things out.

wanted to caution you on baby depot if you are thinking about buying from there. they have a zero return policy, so even if you get home and find something is damaged or missing they will not exchange or return the item. I refuse to shop there because of it. a friend didn't know though and needed a crib for their 8 month old son. they had originally borrowed a crib and it had fallen apart so they needed one right then and there. they got it home and it was missing pieces, but they weren't able to take it back. had to deal with the manufacturer, which took quite a while.

Your local Toys R Us has a great selection of baby items. Granted, it's not as much as Babies R Us, but it's still good.

Have fun shopping for the new Grandbaby:wave:

With DS I registered for everything at Babies R Us. After DD was born I bought a double stroller online from www.babyuniverse.com they have a flat rate shipping cost of $6.95 and it only took 3 days to come.

I second babies r us. If you can find a Carters store, try going there to find clothes, blankets, toys...I really like Carter brand items, and were able to find them at Macys and at the Carters Outlet store.

I wouldn't rule out consignment stores for some of the larger purchases. We have a few around our area, and we can always check the manufacturer's web site to check for any recalls before we buy. I've only done clothes so far, but as time for Db #3 get closer (and once we know if we are having a boy or girl) we'll be going back for more!

I shopped a lot online, and if there's not much in your area this might be a good option for you.

Another recommendation for Babies R Us...there does appear to be one in Orlando. They have a fantastic selection there, much better than Walmart or Target.

The best thing about BRU, though is that they have a VERY liberal return policy. They will take anything back and give you store credit as long as they sell it there, receipt or not. I got some duplicate shower gifts with no gift receipts, and was able to return the stuff to them for store credit, and I don't even know if the items came from there! Also, if you do a registry there, they send you TONS and I mean tons of coupons. They send you coupons for 15% off Huggies and Pampers, for instance and you can use manufacturers coupons on top of that. They have lower diaper prices here than Target does.

I really like Carter's stuff for little babies, and I hear there are several CArters outlets in the Orlando area. I would hit one of them too.

Someone mentioned the horrible return policy at Baby Depot - I second that. Horrible customer service too, at least at our store.

Also, another vote for the "Baby Bargains" book by Alan and Denise Fields, it is terrific. I also have the new book, "Baby 411" and have enjoyed that as well.

Some good sites for finding baby stuff are babyuniverse.com, babycatalog.com, and babycenter.com.

Have fun shopping for your new grandbaby
:Pinkbounc Baby shopping is such a blast!!!

I got most of my stuff at Toys R Us; we don't have a Babies R Us close at all (TRU was an hour away as it is), but they have mostly the same things. BRU has a better selection though.

TRU/BRU is good, because when you're buying a carseat, they will let you take it out to the parking lot and try it in your car before you buy it; that way you know if it fits and can be installed properly.

How much fun I had, looking at and shopping for baby things.....that are now waiting to be put in the garage sale next month! Boohoo, my babies have outgrown them!

Babies R Us does have a nice selection, but shop around. Sometimes Wal-Mart will have the same for less money. I third the comments about baby Depot. Though, I did buy my things there. At the time there were no Babies R Us near here and they do have a great selection of bedding. I love buying my DD clothes at Gymboree, now boys are a different story. I buy my sons clothes at the local department stores or Kids R Us.

I get most of my baby items at Wal-Mart, Target, or BabiesRUs. BabyDepot (inside our Burlington Coat Factory) is good for stuff, too, but they have a limited return policy. I think ours is exchange only, and only within 14 days. (I wonder if this is different since ours is inside Burlington???)

Let's see....

Target--1 car seat, stroller/car seat travel system, double stroller, too many clothes to count for both kids  I LOVE their line of Parents (or is it Parenting) co-branded toys :)

Wal-Mart--I use their White Cloud brand diapers. LOVE 'em. Why? MUCH, MUCH cheaper than other brands out there! And, they DON'T leak....my kids leaked through Huggies all the time and Pampers are too expensive.... I buy the Pampers wipes at Wal-Mart.....ours usually has a box of 5 refills for just under $10...GREAT deal! You can get the White Cloud ones for a little less, but they don't pop up nice for some reason... They're also the cheapest for formula if you ever need it. Toys are usually cheaper here. And they have some cute clothes. I really like their new line, GEORGE.

BabiesRUs--has everything under the sun!! LOVE their house brands of clothes, as well as all the brands they carry! If you need it for a baby, you can probably find it here. We got our gates, safety equipment, bed rails, monitor, Snugli, carrier, diaper bag, and TONS of other stuff here :)

Other stores: We got one car seat at JCPenney. They were having a huge sale and we'd already researched the seat we wanted. Just happened to be there and see it on sale cheaper than we'd seen it anywhere :)

Bedding we got from Pottery Barn outlet :)

I LOVE the off-price stores (TJMaxx, Ross, Marshalls, Steinmart, etc.) for clothes :)
AND, any outlet mall, especially for GAP and Old Navy clothes :)

Have fun shopping, Grandma!! :teeth:
