Does anyone else think the titles of some of the popular rooms are really morbid? I loved the Crocodile Hunter and am saddened by his loss but what the heck is with these morbid room titles?

"Crocodile Hunter is Dead"
"Crocodile Hunter's grave"
"Crocodile Hunter's Dead Place"
"Rest in Peace Crocodile Hunter"

I have seen many beautiful tribute rooms on VMK, but without being able to get into these because they are too popular, the titles are very off-putting.
Some of the respectful ones I've seen include

"Goodbye Crocodile Hunter"
"We will miss you Crocodile Hunter"

Anyway, just think word choice can make a difference.

Not just morbid.. FREAKY morbid

I went into some of those rooms just to see what the big deal was. :confused3

I'm so sorry, but what the people were doing in there was hilarious! First of all what was kind of sad was that they used the coffin couch. It happened to have a bulls eye on it...

Then what really was funny to look at was a room with at least ten people dancing around a coffin teleporter. :lmao:

I even saw a very hurtful room that was named "Yay Crocodile Hunter Is Dead" :sad2:

I just saw these rooms too. I completely agree that many of the room titles are very morbid. These people may be saddened by the death of the crocodile hunter (or at least I hope that is the reason for the rooms) but they should really come up with a more respectful title for the rooms. This man really did alot for animal eduacation and conservation.

The honest truth to the matter (in VMK only) is the fact that you can say "Crocodile Hunter" in VMK, so it gives them something to get at the top of the popular guest rooms list for. Its like the poparazzi and the entertainment/celebrity media, they find one small thing and have a field day with it.

His death is very saddening. But, these rooms are morbid and to be honest I doubt any significat rememberance services or funerals were held for him. :(

i did something with the coffin couch.. my Old Friend From My Old Neighborhood died because he and his two friends skipped school and took their mom's car and drove it in the hail It Was So Sad :sad2: I had This Little Funeral In My Room And People Gave Gifts To put around his coffin and then at the end i was trying to give them back but people said no you can keep them.. He Was Like MY Good Friend and he was only 15 :(

So sorry. :sad2:

Craziest things I saw.

- Someone sitting on the coffin
- Someone walking in and asking, "Is coffin for trade"
- The always popular coffin rattle.

I know this is all just so wrong and not very nice, but that mean bone inside of me had one of those internal chuckles I know I will go to "heel" for.

uh .. What does Morbid mean? :confused3
yea im wondering too. and i just thought of an idea of a funeral or in vmk words "Fun.her.all" i will start making it later and it is realistic to start a funeral late bc you dont have a funeral until a while after death. so plz come when its open

From the Oxford English Dictionary:
having or showing an unhealthy interest in unpleasant subjects, especially death and disease.

They are limited by several things in what they can say in a room title:
1) the dictionary
2) not everyone can think of something poetic to say
3) some of the 'nicer" phases have been taken already.

Do be so quick to judge

:( Gosh people...so mean titles......

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHA I'''''''''''M SAD SAD SAD :( :( :(: (: (: :(

I don't find the titles listed in the original post to be offensive. Sure better words could have been chosen but in my opinion, it's the thought that counts. None of those titles seem to be intentionally mean or disrespectful. They seem to be genuine attempts to memorialize Steve.

Dancing around a coffin doesn't bother me either unless it was done in the fashion of Ding Dong the Witch is Dead. When my Uncle Ralph died, we ended up singing a lot of the funny songs he used to sing. To some, that would seem to be very disrespectful or even hateful. The thing is, our favorite memories of Ralph were when he was singing those songs. Our "morbid" display was actually a celebration of his life.

Some of the actions described in later posts seem to be in bad taste. Asking if the coffin is for trade is in no way a celebration of Steve's life but it's not the room owner's fault if insensitive guests attend the wake.

This morning someone ask that ppl wear the explorers hat in memory of the Crocodile Hunter. I thought that was a nice silent tribute. :sad1:

I don't think these are morbid at all, I find them to be creative since all the other titles are taken. Everyone has their own way to mourn.
