WOO HOOO Again!!!!!!!!!!!

YAY for Sandy, Allie and her DD!!!!!!!
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Regarding the Great Handy-Snacks Debate of '08: my kids prefer water to all other drinks, but have been known to indulge in juice boxes, chocolate milk and other evil beverages at times. Sometimes, DD even tries to swipe a sip of my iced latte! (Great! Just what Sally Spaz-Attack needs is caffeine!!! :scared1: ) Also, we eat tons of fruit in our house, but Pop-Tarts are hardly verboten! I have even been known to let my kids have Happy Meals on occasion! (Wait...a knock at the door....is that Child Protective Services coming to cart my kids away?????) :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Like Elisabeth, I get a perverse sense of giddiness when I get my brother's 3 boys all hopped up on grape juice and chocolate chip cookies and send 'em back to bounce off the walls of their own home! Ha! I also quite enjoy buying the boys LOUD Christmas and b-day gifts. Things like an electronic keyboard-with-microphone for my 2 y.o. nephew, and drums for the 5 y.o. go over SOOOO well with my bro and SIL! :rolleyes1 And those 3 boys love the presents Auntie Lynette buys! :lmao:

It has actually become somewhat of a contest between my bro and me to see who can buy the other's kids the most obnoxiously loud gifts. We are a deranged family, but we have fun. :rolleyes1

This was a FUNNY post LJ!!!! We do the presact same thing. All electronic alphabet teaching games (the one's where I have NO idea what letter or sound they are trying to teach....and I KNOW my abc's for pete's sake) and pop-pop toys get "lost" very quickly here. No xylophones or toy pianos...I prefer my kids not to foster the musical parts of their little brains. :headache:

I don't even think my kids know water is for other than bathing and toothbrushing :rolleyes1 (Just kidding MommyP!)

Girl's night movie alert!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oxygen is showing Moonstruck at 6, followed by when Harry met Sally, followed by Peggie Sue got married

TNT is showing Titanic at 7pm

Now I am not usually a movie person, but those re some of my favorites. I need to schedule my nap for earlier than normal.........

Thanks, Utah! Do you find that the loud toys get....uh, lost a lot? That always happens to us! Or they mysteriously break? Heh. Funny how life works, eh? :rolleyes1

Sandy, Allie and DD: MOO HOOTY to the 3 of you! Way to go!!!!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Moo, I guess I missed the part of chat where you ladies discussed that test....but I'm going to take it anyway. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

Looks like DD has a cold of some sort. :sad2: She's very stuffy and lethargic...she actually took a 45 minute nap on the couch beside me. That's pretty unheard of for her. I just gave her some Tylenol and now she's curled up under a blanket again.

Time to decide what to make for dinner. I'll be back in a scoche.............

Sandy is getting her medal. She found the right person to listen to her and they are on their way to get them probably as we speak.

That just makes me feel so much better.

Imagine the feeling walking around WDW with that medal on.:cloud9:

WOOT WOOT!

Hooray for Disney magic! pixiedust:

I'm sure Sandy will wear her medal proudly!!!!!!!!!

Lynette, let us know how you test out. Twink can peg people pretty closely ;) I bet she used it on her students

Thanks so much everyone!!

PJ so very sorry we didnt meet up, I was sore from falling that morning, and so out of sorts - but, I goofed off today in the MK - I have a picture of the Step Sisters - I'll post it and if you know anyone let me know - they told me I had to send them a Christmas Card of them!! :rotfl2: which I truly would love to do!!

All the cheerers, the CM's that stood out there were so positive, I tried to thank as many as I could!! (that's why I got behind... :rolleyes1 yep, that's the reason, the only reason...:rolleyes1 )

It was so sad to know they were sweeping at every mile this year, it was tough, my BCV neighbor almost got swept at mile 6 - she was 20 SECONDS from being swept, made up some ground, and finished - and NOT get a medal!!

Marita those are my favorite movies too!! Moonstruck "Snap outta it" and the end of the movie, when Grandpa says "Somebody tell a joke" I never remember movie lines - but I do in Moonstruck - I looked for years for "RED SHOES" finally found them!!

I'm going lazy on y'all - cut and paste my post from DISappearing Peeps

thought I'd bring it over here - because one of you may run it too! (PS Thanks Wendy I need a nap, but I may never wake up - and we have adrs for Cape May in 30 min - food before sleep

QUOTE>I'll write more later, but I have to start the thread out with sincere gratitude for the WISH team. I could not have done it without any of you - you cannot imagine how much I took from each and everyone of you!! THANK You...

rounding the bend into the MK - I cried - then HIGH FIVED the WISH team - a WISHER was down right by the turn into Tomorrowland, sorry I forget her name, but it was blisters, and she encouraged me to keep running!! Bless HER!!

Charles told me not to take pictures - but, I may never pass this way again, and didnt stand in line, but got one with Piglet, Fairy Godmother, slowed down for the castle picture (I came a long way Baby) Stopped in Frontierland for the a/c privy's (non porta potties!!)

Hit Mile 6 - pic with YoHo Capn Jack - around and out of the MK to be told we were 8 min ahead of sweepers...

and so the saga began - from Charles, I knew if I made it to mile ten I'd be good - I got to mile ten (4 min a head of sweepers - tough and right by the Purple teams 16min pace guy - I couldnt keep up with him - I couldnt keep up with anyone - one team had on their shirt how far did Jesus walk for you (or something) I kept trying to keep up with Jesus - Jesus was too fast for me!!

Somewhere along this route the screamers were htere - Bless Mahaere/ Anne, she ran alongside of me giving me courage, and her strength... so many people that passed me, patted me on the back "LOVE your shirt, Dead Last Finish is greater than Did not start - keep it up, you're making it!!"

Mile 11 I['m ahead by 2 min - I call dh, I'm not going to make it... its such a long stretch down and then up as we rounded the curve you could tell they were swept - they started the traffic, I wanted to cry for them - knowing I'd be next...

down a long stretch then up that dang hill - and a nice young kid very overweight and tall, told me at the top of the hill - "come on, we didnt come this far we're not going without a medal" down to 12 - I really hated seeing the bikers with the sweep flags - really hatedd them...

Round the corner, made it to 12... and saw our Cheer team... I still cry when I think of it!! I started shaking, hoping I wouldnt go into shock, I kept it up... someone gave me a bottle of cold water - loved that, needed that, I ran with a washcloth, and the cold water on teh cloth was great, but I felt like I had miles to go before I could stop... miles to go...

ran by the fountain, people wanted to play - and run in our path - its tough knowing youre last - my guy was able to run ahead, and as he passed me on the way back to the fountain, I let him know he was an inspiration - and he said "I told you we'd get that medal" (remember this please)

So now I round the corner, trying hard not to break into tears... trying to look like a "runner" and not able to keep up with the walkers - cried when I heard the Gospel singers~!

FINALLY I see it (cue the music) THE FINISH LINE!! I cross that - get my blannkie, take my chips... WHERE's MY MEDAL??? "go to the information line' The purple people kept pushing me away from the packet pickup - and I WANT my MEDAL!! They had medals - I WANT MY MEDAL>>> (spoiled brat that I am!!)

So dh comes up, the WIHSERs are great, but they dont have my medal,, the information line was 400 strong - I go up while dh stands in line - 5 volunteers 5 different answers, but basically, your chip has your info, we'll mail them!!

so NO MEDAL FOR ME!!

I didnt cry, I just want to go home and get drunk!! Well maybe a cheeseburger first!!

UPDATE - we're staying at BCV - and I told my sob story to the conceirge desk, she made calls, manager, managers managers -

MY MEDALS AT THE EXPO - until 7 tonight!! ( and those info people did say more than once - "DO NOT go to the expo, even if they come in they wont go there!! )

bye, the neighbor next door we met on the balcony last night while illuminations, she's going to drive me!! MUY MEDAL

Selfish promotion here!!

The neighbor also finished near last and didnt get her medal, but found out I talked to the lady at the front desk, so she knocked on my door and drove me to the expo, we both burst into tears as the Volunteer placed the medal around our necks and said " on behalf of hte Walt Disney Marathon, we apologize for running out of medals, congratulations on a wonderful marathon"

Yep, I'm emotional!!

OH Sandy.....I am so wicked proud of you.........I just ran that last few miles with you......and I am sitting here sniffling cause you made it sound like we were with you........thanks for doing it for all of us that could not be there. You are an awesome person...

Pumba that touches my heart, you have no idea how much it meant to me!!

Another touching story. I just am so happy for you Sandy. You are such an inspiration.

Monica when I called and hung up right after the race - I was so emotional at times!!

Found out from dh tonight that the turned off the chip machine at 3hr 30 min from the FIRST START!! We started 30 minutes, I finished within that time frame!! Those stinkers are going to hear from me - the indignity!!

I do admire all the work it takes to put this on, to stop traffic etc,,,

Yay! I know I keep saying this, but I am so dang proud of you!
I'm so thankful you finished!

That medal is not going to be removed anytime soon, I know!

Adding a picture taken at MK (I know it was foolish, and took up at least 4 - 5 precious moments, but I'm glad I did - I may never pass this way again!!)

I wanted to be in the picture, but their handler disappeared - and I couldnt wait!!

I have a "movie" of me and capn jack (the handler pushed the wrong button, I love it tho!)

Sandy, those pics are wonderfu!

So is that Hollywood? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

How was dinner? I have never eaten at Cape May.
