Twinkie, thanks for the call for solidarity for the "I Hate DVC". Another "fun" morning was had! But I feel better today, I was really in the dumps yesterday.

I went to Publix at 6:30 tonight (and I hate leaving once I get home) and got Boar's Head 12" Italian custom made sub, YUM! Good for 4 meals... So I will go and heat some of that now for dinner.

Hope everyone's feet are better soon!

Well, the doc told me to stay home from work tomorrow and rest (darn!) and gave me some meds to help with the cough and congestion. I'm feeling a little better tonight.

I'll echo what the others said - it was fantastic that you could make it so we could meet you and your family!

Melinda, I didn't sign up for the bounceback. It was a tad too hot and humid for me. I think I'll have to go when it is a bit cooler next time I think November through January would be a little more my speed. Right, Marita?!

My hubby has been having fun tearing the broken batphone apart this evening and is trying to figure out whether to buy a replacement screen. He loves to tinker . . .

Please everyone....ladies or gents.......its getting dark early ......be aware of your surroundings......dont go into dark parking areas ......always park near a lamp pole in shopping centers.....if you work the later shifts .....ask for an escort to your vehicle.......if you dont have that type of security......try to park near others that get off your shift at the same time.......no need to be paranoid but just be aware .....
after my neices attack years ago, I started to do this annual be careful post. I care about you all.

Moo, actually mid-October to mid-April are good times to go for weather. late Feb-April for crowds, not so much! And of course never go over the Xmas/NY holidays!

The weather here today (mostly this morning) sucked BIG TIME! Pouring rain and really dark skies, the kind of day you don't want to leave the house. I almost called the boss to see if I could work from home today, but then decided not to and suck it up since it was YEAR END DVC SPLIT. Goog thing too, I had to save their sorry butts. Not that I could not have done it from home, but just easier to communicate in person. He did not look like he would have very receptive to the idea anyway when I told him about it later.

Moo, I used the Michigan oven mitt today in your honor! Hope you feel better soon!
How is the budget situation going?

Oh, DD just called. She got out of class at 9pm. She says "I'm going to dance tonight and study for a bit, be home about 11"
Me" You are doing to dance to study??????"
DD" YES"
Me: (very confussled) "HUH? How does that work? How can you dance and study?"
DD: "I am going to study with DAN (her new BF), you know, Dan's place"

Why did that make me feel old and befuddled?????????

When I "try" to nap, my brain goes into overdrive. I can't figure out how DH lays down and is snoring in less than a minute.

My hour nap is usually a few minutes of sleep too.

Twinkie when I was pregnant I'd do anything for a nap around 4pm. If I sat down I'd start nodding off.


When I was sick last week I got a few naps. All the drugs I was on just knocked me out.

Bummer on the work thing, Marita! Glad we weren't at Disney in the rain today. It was nice and cool here today - high of 75 and LOW humidity.

The layoff day was averted due to last minute agreement to raise the state income tax, but there is only a month-long stopgap budget in place . . . so we'll see what happens next.

Yes IRL (ie not pregnant) I am NOT a napper. However in all my pregnancies I do experience that magic 4 pm pull towards sleepyland. Of course 4 pm is when the school bus shows up. And this time I am older and have more kids and the exhaustion is just chronic. The only time I get a nap is on the weekends if DH is home. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day as Miss Scarlett would say.

Well, Mony, I'm feeling like ALL of the politicians in the state ought to just take a flying leap . . . it's ridiculous that they let things drag on so long. And the sad thing is that it's not over yet We are probably in for some layoff days as part of the cuts that are still needed before this mess is finally straightened out.

Ladies, I feel your pain about how hard it can be to nap compared to our spouses. My hubby and his dad can also fall asleep at the drop of a hat. The closest I came to napping while at Disney was our first day in the MK after only a couple hours of sleep. I nearly nodded off while waiting for the parade, then we ditched the parade because the line for the Haunted Mansion was practically zilch! The updates were awesome. I bought a pin that commemorates the "re-haunting" of the mansion! It has the floating head lady on it.

And my day includes an trip to the Walmarts to fix one of the little twinkies glasses. With three kids in glasses, I spend a LOT of time getting them adjusted. This time they are toadily broken. In half even. She has been glasses-less while we waited for new frames to be mailed to us.... under warrenty but due to our moove we have issues with the local walmart.
